Zhang Beixing hadn’t caused too much of a fuss. Although it stirred a little commotion within a small circle, the impact wasn’t very significant. People’s attention was still captivated by the principal’s speech.
Up on the podium, the principal adjusted his deanor and then began to speak, unveiling the "Space-Ti Echo" theory—a concept he and the school’s top brass had vigorously debated, thoroughly analyzed, and ultimately formulated!
"Space-Ti Echo. The na might seem unfamiliar to you all, but if I ntion a similar natural phenonon, I’m sure everyone will understand."
"A mirage."
"You are all familiar with this term, aren’t you? The appearance of a mirage is due to the refraction of light."
"As for the principle of the Space-Ti Echo, our investigation indicates it’s caused by the interaction between magnetite and thunder. This interaction recorded a segnt of past audio, which only replays under specific conditions. This also explains why, in last night’s video, the tiger’s roar was accompanied by the sounds of thunder and a flowing river."
"Please rest assured, fellow students. The tiger incident, from start to finish, never actually happened. We would certainly never allow such a thing to occur at Shi University and threaten your safety."
"That concludes my statent."
With that, the principal bowed to the students below the stage, then waved his hand, signaling that the matter was now closed.
The students dispersed. On the way back to the dorms, Jin Linyu still wore an incredulous expression. "So, you’re telling that whole uproar about the tiger last night... was just an echo from history? Fuck , that’s just too damn outrageous!"
Zheng Jituo nodded. "Tell about it. If it weren’t for the hard evidence proving Shi University really doesn’t have any tigers, I’d have thought the principal and the others just cooked up so excuse to fob us off. Lao Zhang, you... Holy shit, Lao Zhang! What’s wrong with you? Why is your face so red from holding back?"
Turning his head, Zheng Jituo was just about to ask Zhang Beixing what he thought about the whole thing when his eyes landed on Zhang Beixing’s extrely flushed face, causing him to exclaim in shock. Hearing Zheng Jituo’s outburst, Jin Linyu and the others also looked over. Noticing Zhang Beixing’s unnatural expression, they were sowhat baffled.
What could he say to that? He couldn’t exactly admit he was red from suppressing laughter, could he?
So, Zhang Beixing just waved his hand, indicating he was fine. He claid his flushed face was due to choking on water earlier and told them it was nothing to worry about. Then, he quickly made an excuse and hurried away.
It wasn’t until he reached a secluded spot that Zhang Beixing finally couldn’t hold it in any longer. He burst out laughing heartily, and his laughter continued for a good seven or eight minutes. The main reason was that the incident itself was simply too hilarious.
As the true instigator of the event, Zhang Beixing knew perfectly well how the Tiger Roar and Rolling Thunder had occurred. But he couldn’t admit it. So, he could only stand in the crowd and watch the school leaders gravely present all sorts of evidence to explain the incident.
Space-Ti Echo, my ass! Fuck, what were they even thinking? The principal really has a knack for spinning bullshit. Hahaha! I can’t take it anymore; I’m going to die laughing! This is just too damn ridiculous!
Zhang Beixing vented through his laughter until his stomach ached, and only then did he finally stop. However, the irrepressible smile playing on his lips betrayed his utterly gleeful heart.
And so, the tiger incident ca to an end.
Although so people still doubted the school’s explanation, they lacked evidence and courage. Thus, they didn’t dare venture into the small forest of Shi University to investigate for themselves, and could only let the matter drop.
Shi University returned to its usual calm. As for Zhang Beixing, after finally mastering the Hidden Force version of the Northern Sect Eight Pieces of Brocade, he resud his ’business,’ once again working as a sparring partner on the sports field. Unfortunately, the athletes had all departed, aning far fewer clients. Consequently, his rate of earning money, well, it decreased significantly.
After finishing his sparring sessions, he would sneak off to the small forest. Because the previous night’s tiger incident had caused such a huge stir, very few people went there anymore, even though it had been officially clarified that there were no tigers in the small forest. It had practically beco a forbidden zone in the eyes of the students.
This was quite normal. After all, too many strange incidents had originated from this peculiar spot: the Hehe Immortal, the Beauty of Chu, the Tiger Roar and Rolling Thunder... Nobody could predict what kind of commotion would crop up there next. All in all, the place felt a bit uncanny; visiting at night was genuinely creepy.
So, to play it safe, it was best to avoid it if possible. Even if soone absolutely had to go, they were advised to do so at noon; evenings were completely out of the question. After all, of the roughly ten couples who had ventured into the small forest the previous night, seven had broken up because of the incident. Moreover, three of the young n had been scared so badly they developed... *problems*, and had to take dical leave to visit the urology departnt.
For this, Zhang Beixing felt rather apologetic, but he’d definitely do it again! After all, this was currently the only place he could conduct his Martial Arts Training. He certainly couldn’t go to the iron gym Liu Yi had taken him to before. Leaving aside the hassle of commuting back and forth, the price alone—a hundred yuan an hour—was enough to make Zhang Beixing balk.
After spending about ten minutes in the small forest, Zhang Beixing, as expected, encountered the Shi University security guards on patrol. It was the sa security chief from the earlier Dong Shengjie incident, the one Zhang Beixing had briefly t in a classroom.
