Then, with a trembling hand, the instructor picked up the walkie-talkie on his chest, swallowed hard, pressed the button, and said in a shaky voice, "GULP. R-Report, Major Xu, this is Aid One... I haven’t jumped yet, but..."
"But what? What happened?" Major Xu asked, a foreboding feeling rising in his heart.
Then he heard the instructor say, "But... I didn’t attach the tow rope, and Instructor Zhang... he jumped down first..."
Silence fell not only in the aircraft but on the ground as well.
After a mont, Major Xu sharply inhaled. With a voice that was almost a roar, he shouted, "What are you saying? When did he go down?"
"About... 10 seconds ago?" the instructor said.
"F*CK!" Major Xu cursed. Why the hell didn’t he report this imdiately? Waiting 10 seconds to ntion it?
Parachuting from 6,000 ters isn’t a joke. Many soldiers, despite being theoretically perfect, often get overwheld by the high pressure and airflow during their first jump and pass out!
