Imdiately afterward,
SWISH—
Without warning, a long spear tore through the dust like an arrow, bursting forth!
Its speed was incredible; it reached the helicopter in the blink of an eye.
Diablo heard the commotion but didn't even have ti to turn his head.
Then, with a loud BANG, the spear accurately pierced the junction between the main rotor and the fuselage, sending sparks flying!
The rapidly spinning rotor was struck and began to malfunction.
The fuselage lurched uncontrollably and began to plumt.
Realizing sothing was amiss, alarm bells blared in Diablo's mind; he had a terrible premonition.
He didn't hesitate. After steadying himself, he leaped to the side.
BANG!
Diablo landed on the rooftop, rolling several tis on the ground, looking utterly disheveled.
But he was in no state to care about his appearance.
Diablo looked up.
He saw the helicopter struggling to circle in the air for a short ti before it completely lost control.
Like a raging bull, it crashed directly into their D&E laboratory building.
BOOM!
A deafening explosion!
The helicopter erupted in a fireball, flas lit up the sky, and thick black smoke billowed from the building, spreading upward.
The scene was identical to the Twin Towers incident years ago!
"FUCK!"
Seeing this, Diablo's eyes nearly bulged from their sockets!
The deaths of dozens, even hundreds, of their security guards at Zhang Beixing's hands were a small matter.
The destruction of this laboratory building in Ro, designed in the style of Ancient Ro, however, was the true catastrophe!
This building, mind you, had cost them over three hundred million US dollars to construct!
Inside, nurous important docunts had yet to be transferred.
But now, all of it had turned to dust!
The losses would amount to at least one billion US dollars!
Diablo dared not imagine how the organization would deal with him after he caused such astronomical losses!
And what he hadn't expected, even more so, was that despite all he had sacrificed, an unexpected developnt now unfolded before his very eyes!
HAAAH—
A long, heavy breathing sound ca from directly in front of him.
Hearing this, Diablo froze and looked up.
His pupils instantly constricted to pinpoints, his face etched with terror.
Diablo saw that before him, as the helicopter exploded, a strong gust of wind swept away the dust, revealing a figure. The man was drenched in blood and looked sowhat disheveled, yet he stood tall and imposing.
It was Zhang Beixing!
"You're... not dead?!"
Seeing the scene before him, Diablo couldn't help but roar.
Utter disbelief was written all over his face.
After everything he had been through today—the helicopter destroyed, the laboratory in ruins, the docunts gone...
And yet, you, Zhang Beixing, are still not dead?
"How is this possible?! You were shot so many tis! Why aren't you dead?!"
Diablo roared again, staring at the blood-soaked Zhang Beixing in utter disbelief.
Zhang Beixing didn't respond to this.
Because he, too, was still shaken by the close call.
Just monts ago, he hadn't dodged; in truth, he couldn't have.
He had simply chosen to et the attack head-on from the very first mont.
He could feel the bullets break his skin and burrow into his flesh. However, his muscles clamped down tightly around them, holding them fast. A cold sweat broke out over Zhang Beixing from the pain, but thankfully, he had indeed withstood the assault; the bullets hadn't penetrated through him!
With his current physical constitution, taking five or six bullets wasn't a problem.
The crucial point, however, was that just monts ago, far more than five or six bullets had struck him, and they were from high-powered rifles!
Although he had managed to block so with his spear, many of the remaining rounds had found their mark.
The most dangerous one had stopped a re inch from his heart!
Good thing I had an ace up my sleeve!
Otherwise, I really would have t my end here today!
His heart still pounding, Zhang Beixing felt imnsely fortunate.
Under normal circumstances, anyone shot at such close range by submachine guns and rifles would have a bowl-sized chunk of flesh torn from their body; the sheer force would pulverize them into minceat!
That was the grim reality of being shot!
But for Zhang Beixing, such a grueso outco hadn't occurred. He had relied on his body's incredible resilience to stop the bullets' montum after they entered his flesh, embedding them harmlessly within his muscles, unable to move another fraction of an inch.
It could be said that his tendons and bones were unhard, and his internal organs were untouched. Essentially, they were just flesh wounds!
This was the power of Flesh into Saint, of Vajra Indestructibility!
If he were to reach the Great Accomplishnt Realm, he wouldn't even sustain such superficial wounds; his skin would be impenetrable!
Of course, he was still so distance from that realm.
Now, it's my turn!
Zhang Beixing glared fiercely at the D&E security guards.
They were already standing frozen in place, utterly dumbfounded. They clearly couldn't comprehend why Zhang Beixing, though covered in blood and obviously struck by bullets, appeared completely unhard.
