"Boss, how did you co back so quickly?" Tao Tao stared wide-eyed at Lin Feng who suddenly appeared, and asked. But after speaking, Tao Tao suddenly slled a peculiar scent on Lin Feng, as if it was a woman’s scent, causing his eyes to widen even more. He said to Lin Feng, "Boss, you didn’t run off and commit a cri against a woman, did you?"
After saying this, Tao Tao looked at Lin Feng with a face full of caution, as if Lin Feng were so kind of pervert. He found it strange since Lin Feng normally doesn’t provoke won. How could this happen? It was really terrifying, really terrifying...
"Bam!"
Upon hearing this, a vein popped out on Lin Feng’s forehead, and he gave Tao Tao a flick on the forehead. Then he said to Tao Tao, "What weird thoughts are rattling around in your little head, do you really think your boss is that kind of person?"
Regarding this Tao Tao, Lin Feng was at a loss. Its level of wisdom was too high, and sotis it caused problems. It imagined too much, turning him into so kind of lecherous villain. Is it even a demon beast anymore? Do demon beasts understand these things?
"I didn’t see anything, I’m not sure..." Tao Tao rubbed the spot on its head where it was flicked, feeling quite speechless, since Lin Feng hadn’t really said anything. Why would it be a problem to guess these things? It’s because Lin Feng slled of won!
Seeing Tao Tao’s reaction, Lin Feng darkened his expression, realizing one thing — talking sense into Tao Tao is impossible. Since things are like this, Lin Feng didn’t bother to explain and pointed at his shoulder. Tao Tao imdiately understood what Lin Feng ant and jumped onto his shoulder.
Along the way, Lin Feng said nothing, and Tao Tao seed quite bored. Eventually, Tao Tao couldn’t resist and asked, "Boss, where are we heading?"
"Don’t know." Lin Feng replied casually. He truly didn’t know what to do next. He wanted to cultivate, but the problem was he’d nearly used up all his Spirit Stones. He could only wait until Elder Chu’s elixirs were dealt with, then he’d have enough Yuan Stones to cultivate.
Upon hearing Lin Feng’s response, Tao Tao rolled its eyes. It hadn’t expected Lin Feng to say that. So, he asked helplessly, "Boss, are we just going to wander aimlessly for a month?"
"Do you have any bright ideas?" Lin Feng asked Tao Tao with a aningful look.
"Why don’t we find a tavern, see if there’s any news, or maybe find sothing to do?" Tao Tao’s eyes darted around and said. It didn’t have any brilliant ideas at the mont but thought of the tavern’s food that made its mouth water.
"Alright." Lin Feng nodded to Tao Tao’s suggestion. Though he didn’t care about eating and drinking, a tavern was indeed a good place to gather information. The reason was simple — such places gathered people from all walks of life. Though cultivators might not need food, many couldn’t resist alcohol.
Afterward, under Tao Tao’s guidance, Lin Feng arrived at a tavern. Speaking of which, the tavern’s na was quite strange, simply called Tavern, without any prefix. Such a sign amazed Lin Feng, but upon seeing it was five stories high and bustling with guests, he was intrigued.
Upon stepping into the tavern, a waiter approached imdiately.
"Sir, are you alone?" The waiter, roughly seventeen or eighteen years old, spoke with skill and greeted Lin Feng warmly, his smile genuine.
"Mm, is there a good private room?" Lin Feng asked the waiter casually.
"I’m sorry, you can see that business is good today, the private rooms are all taken. But a table by the window on the second floor just freed up. If you find that acceptable, I can take you there right away?" The waiter responded honestly but could tell this burly individual’s plain clothes belied a unique aura, clearly not an average person, so he spoke politely.
"That works." Hearing the waiter’s response, Lin Feng nodded and followed him to sit by the window on the second floor. Although it wasn’t a private room, it had a great view, making it a nice spot.
After ordering so of the tavern’s signature dishes and drinks, Lin Feng gazed out the window, observing the outer sect below. People were moving about, so vendors selling fruits and vegetables, and occasionally a pretty young woman would walk by, her laughter ringing like silver bells...
Everything felt otherworldly to Lin Feng, like it was all so distant. Once upon a ti, he never imagined being alone in this unfamiliar world, yet the scenes outside felt familiar, making him think of his family on Earth, evoking a sense of lancholy.
Tao Tao perched on Lin Feng’s shoulder, noticed his silence and the aura of despondency around him, and guessed Lin Feng was saddened, recalling events of the lower realms. So, Tao Tao stayed quietly on his shoulder without speaking.
Soon, the waiter served the dishes, swiftly filling the table and respectfully allowing Lin Feng to enjoy, before heading downstairs.
Looking at the wine on the table, Lin Feng poured himself a glass and downed it in one gulp, gazing into the distance and muttering, "With wine cos nostalgia, and longing for ho."
"Boss..." Tao Tao saw Lin Feng’s poor spirits and wanted to comfort him, but wasn’t sure how, leaving his words unsaid.
"It’s nothing." Lin Feng said to Tao Tao casually, then picked up his chopsticks and began eating, alternating bites of food with sips of wine, but remained silent. Seeing this, Tao Tao regretted suggesting the tavern, thinking if he’d known, he wouldn’t have brought Lin Feng here.
Not long after, a young woman suddenly ca up from downstairs, around sixteen years old, incredibly beautiful, wearing a graceful green dress. She glided across the second floor before sitting at Lin Feng’s table.
"Miss, you..." The waiter saw the woman sit at Lin Feng’s table and was at a loss since he told her there was no space available, yet here she was. If Lin Feng blad him, he might lose wages.
The young woman waved at the waiter, saying, "I’ll eat here, bring two roasted snail beasts, two plates of Golden Jade Luofish, and a jar of the tavern’s wine. I’ll pay properly."
The waiter hesitated but hurriedly approached Lin Feng to ask, "Sir, is this alright?"
"No problem." Lin Feng didn’t want to fuss at the mont, so he casually agreed.
With Lin Feng’s approval, the waiter breathed a sigh of relief and rushed downstairs to place the order.
anwhile, the young woman turned her gaze to Lin Feng, looking intrigued, which baffled him as he didn’t even know her. Why would she be interested?
"We don’t seem to know each other, right?" Lin Feng asked curiously.
"Not yet, but soon we will!" The young woman smiled at Lin Feng, introducing herself, "I’m Tao Tao, what’s your na?"
The girl’s smile was endearing, making Lin Feng speechless. But you don’t hit a smiling face, so he plainly replied, "Lin Feng."
But right after answering, Lin Feng realized that he was disguised as a burly man, and the na might be sensitive. Many might know his na. If this little girl revealed his secret, he’d face trouble.
Unexpectedly, Tao Tao’s eyes widened upon hearing Lin Feng’s na, smiling while saying, "That’s a great na. I’ve finally t soone interesting. It seems my grandpa’s prophecy was spot on today!"
"Prophecy?" Lin Feng was dumbfounded by Tao Tao’s remark, never expecting her to have such a background. Consulting a prophecy to find him? What’s going on?
"Yes, a prophecy! This morning, Grandpa predicted I’d et a significant person at a tavern. Seeing you, I knew he was right. I’m amazed his prediction was accurate for once!" Tao Tao explained to Lin Feng happily.
"You think I’m significant?" Lin Feng asked Tao Tao curiously, wondering why she believed him to be the one spoken of.
"Grandpa said you are!" Tao Tao continued to smile at Lin Feng.
Seeing her certainty, Lin Feng didn’t know how to respond, leaving him speechless. He found her arrival quite strange, and Tao Tao’s background intriguing, constantly ntioning her grandpa. Could he be soone powerful?
But as Lin Feng stayed silent, Tao Tao remained on his shoulder, curious about the strange girl who appeared suddenly and spoke such peculiar words. This would surprise anyone.
"Boss, why do I feel like this girl seems unusual?"
"I feel the sa, but I can’t pinpoint why it feels off!"
"Should we test her?"
"How should we test?"
...
Lin Feng and Tao Tao conversed using Divine Sense, still unable to figure out what exactly was going on, feeling quite perplexed.
"Brother Lin Feng, looking at like that makes really shy!" Tao Tao seed to sense Lin Feng’s gaze, saying coyly. But her big eyes firmly locked onto Lin Feng, as if afraid he might run away!
