Now reading: Chapter 299 - 295: Perfikot Flying to the Sky from Extreme Cold Era: Shelter Don't Keep Waste, a Sci-fi novel by Seventeen Kites.

Regarding the fuel and power issues of the Flying Knight, Perfikot, after careful consideration, decided to add so technology and a touch of boldness.

She refined the crude oil obtained from Death Valley, and from it, she separated this world’s first drop of kerosene.

Yes, Perfikot plans to use liquid fuel for the Flying Knight.

For Perfikot, who already controls an oil field, she is capable of doing so.

After all, the current demand for oil in the Northern Territory is almost zero, and although Perfikot intends to develop petrochemicals, under the current circumstances, using it as fuel for the Flying Knight seems to be the proper use for the oil.

However, although she plans to use kerosene as fuel for the Flying Knight, this does not an Perfikot intends to retrofit the Flying Knight with an internal combustion engine.

On one hand, it is completely unnecessary; the output from the current steam turbine is already sufficient.

With the existence of the Flying Stone, a cheat-like material, the Flying Knight does not need to consider its weight, and all power output can be channeled into the thrusters to achieve a truly astounding speed.

On the other hand, the Flying Knight is entirely a creation that Perfikot has made, surpassing its ti by more than one step; even the Steam Knight is already considered exceptional, and now she wants it to fly?

Perfikot even thinks that if it weren’t for needing to unlock the Jade Record, she might not even create the Flying Knight for another hundred years.

Because there is absolutely no need to do so.

After all, the whole world has only just transitioned from feudal era cold weapon warfare to the industrial era’s early breech-loading smoothbore guns; if you were to throw a T34 on the battlefield, not to ntion now having AD-1; it’s undoubtedly a crushing blow in terms of technological scale.

But for Perfikot, she created the Flying Knight not because there is such a demand now, but because she needed to make the Flying Stone practical in order to unlock the next page of the Jade Record, obtaining new technology while also enabling the Jade Record to unlock more new functions.

Especially the customizable technology function that she covets the most, for Perfikot, it’s simply irresistible.

If she had this function now, there wouldn’t be any need to worry about how the Northern Territory should get through the apocalyptic winter; she’d directly start building Laputa and then advance into space!

Perhaps even a bit excessively, how about considering a wandering Earth scenario? She might not be able to move the entire Earth, but creating a flying continent is still within her capabilities.

In fact, for the current Perfikot, monstrous creations like the Sky City Laputa are indeed beyond her reach, but creating a Floating City straight out of classical fantasy literature is still within her grasp.

This is also one of the two application thods Perfikot considered after obtaining the Flying Stone technology.

If the Flying Knight cannot gain the Jade Record’s approval, then she’ll only have the option of creating a Floating City.

However, unlike the Flying Knight, which only requires a single Flying Stone to complete the project, constructing a Floating City is not a simple task.

At the very least, Perfikot would need to create a sufficiently large Flying Stone to generate a large enough anti-gravity field to lift the entire city into the air.

For Perfikot, this is nearly an impossible task; even with the Philosopher’s Stone’s help, she might faint a few tis before finally creating a Flying Stone capable of lifting a city.

Indeed, if Perfikot wanted to take a shortcut, she could use smaller Flying Stones to first build flying components, then piece them together to construct a Floating City.

But this is sowhat overly troubleso and tedious for her, and she has no fondness for repetitive labor.

If she were to spend long periods holed up in an alchemy workshop just to create various components for a Floating City, she would go mad.

Moreover, from a certain perspective, Perfikot does not want her ability to create a Floating City to be known by others, as the consequences would be almost unpredictably disastrous.

She has not forgotten why Sky City Laputa in the cartoon she watched fell into decline; once she truly raises a city to the sky, then the rule and oppression of the sky people over the earth people would be inevitable.

At that ti, war and destruction would be unavoidable, and this would surely go against her original intention.

After all, even if Perfikot truly wants to create a Floating City, the goal would be to allow humans to escape the harsh ground conditions in the apocalyptic winter.

But due to technological conditions and productivity constraints, the Floating City will inevitably only be accessible to a select few.

Like the shelter currently planned in the Northern Territory, it is destined to be unable to save the vast majority.

In such circumstances, unless the people on the ground are all dead, otherwise the residents of the Floating City would feel superior, thus forming oppression and rule over the humans on the ground.

Attacking the earth from the sky is much easier than attacking the sky from the earth.

Having a Sky City, wanting to suppress the ground’s people and cities, would be far simpler than depicted in "Gulliver’s Travels".

Not to ntion Perfikot has already created cross-era soldiers like the Steam Knight and weapons like the Thermobaric Bomb, which are most suitable for destroying the ground from the sky.

Perfikot can be said to have pointed out all the prerequisite technologies for sky people to rule earth people, the only thing preventing this from truly happening is just her own conscience and bottom line.

"Forget it, stop thinking about these things, and do sothing that makes yourself happy!" Perfikot abandoned the thought of "what if I really build the Floating City" and prepared to do sothing that would bring herself joy.

She took the completed Flying Knight armor outside, then changed into a very snug hunting outfit, before, amidst the shocked gaze of the guardian knights, putting on this Flying Knight armor.

"What is your intention, Count!" Samantha imdiately rushed over, grabbing Perfikot’s hand as she was about to close the Flying Knight armor’s faceplate, asking her anxiously.

Yet Perfikot easily shook off Samantha; the power output of the Steam Knight armor itself was enough to give Perfikot strength far superior to that of a grand knight.

She rely smiled at Samantha and said, "No need to worry, I just want to try out my new invention."

After saying that, she activated the flight pack on the Flying Knight armor; strong airflow spewed out from the nozzle behind the flight pack, and the vigorous power converted into thrust nearly blew Perfikot away.

And this was exactly what she wanted; subsequently, Perfikot activated the Flying Stone, the anti-gravity field expanded to counteract the weight of the Flying Knight armor itself, allowing Perfikot to ascend into the sky.
