Are engineers just people who eat without working and point fingers while others work?

Do you really think the working class is infinitely great and can complete complex engineering projects without professional technicians and safety supervision?

What does it an that even with effort, you can't beco a noble and live a luxurious life? Are you trying to say your effort is to instantly transition from a worker to a luxurious noble life?

These statents might sound unproblematic at first, but in reality, they are full of issues.

Engineers indeed do not go to the front lines to do those dirty and tiring physical tasks, but they are responsible for understanding blueprints, providing technical guidance, and ensuring safety supervision. Without engineers, Perfikot would not dare to imagine what the workers would build the Energy Tower into all by themselves.

In fact, so far, there have been nurous issues in the entire construction of the Energy Tower, except these issues are not major and many can be handled without Perfikot needing to know.

A significant portion of these issues stems from workers not following the blueprints or handling encountered problems arbitrarily.

For instance, where two pipes intersect, the blueprint clearly indicates using a connecting elbow, but so workers, without thinking, directly connected the two straight pipes, forming a ninety-degree joint.

(The author's personal experience)

Not to ntion problems like screwing bolts incorrectly or reversing valves.

As for Perfikot, the reason she requires all workers to spend a few hours each day familiarizing themselves with their day's work is to avoid these types of problems.

However, even so, new problems erge every day.

If it weren't for the diligent work of these engineers, Perfikot believes that relying solely on these workers, the construction would result in sothing that would not function unless they all beca geniuses with sudden inspirations.

These people can hardly comprehend the complex blueprints that even professional engineers find baffling, let alone understand the difference between using copper pipes and iron pipes on-site.

Under such circumstances, if soone spreads the notion that engineers only eat without working, it is just stirring up trouble.

And not to ntion the rhetoric that even with effort one can't beco a noble or live a luxurious life.

Perfikot admits that achieving class mobility in the Empire is very challenging, but it's not entirely impossible.

Moreover, the more critical point is that as a worker, when you strive to improve your life, shouldn't you compare it with your past life and see how much it has improved?

Why compare yourself with nobles who are on a completely different level?

Do you truly think that noble life is just about luxury and excess and that with a little effort, it's within your grasp?

So people must have been brainwashed by the consurism most popular among the Langton middle class, thinking that just by using the sa products as nobles, they can live a noble life and join the noble social circle, becoming nobles themselves.

In fact, this is a monuntal lie.

For nobles, a noble lifestyle is just their daily life; for the middle class, it requires spending most, if not all, of their inco to barely maintain a high-consumption luxury conduct.

If you don't think about improving your life and only think about comparing yourself to the rich, how can you possibly feel the change that effort brings?

To those who dare to spout such rhetoric, Perfikot has only one remark: their intentions deserve condemnation.

So, without hesitating any further, she stepped out of the vehicle, directly took the rifle from a City Guard soldier who had noticed her arrival, aid at the guy still spouting nonsense, and pulled the trigger.

The rifle equipped by the City Guard, designed by Perfikot herself, is a rifled musket loaded from the muzzle, firing the historically famous Minie ball. Because of the rifling, the shooting accuracy is greatly enhanced.

Thus, when Perfikot pulled the trigger, the bullet accurately hit the person giving a speech, entering through his mouth, severing his tongue, and leaving a big hole in the back of his head.

Witnessing this scene, everyone was stunned. Soon after, the workers erupted in anger, believing the Lord was trying to oppress them.

Yet, at this point, Perfikot didn't attempt to calm the workers' emotions. She rely fired into the air again to attract everyone's attention and ordered the City Guard to maintain order. After that, escorted by four Steam Knights, she marched up to the body of the person she had just killed, and asked the White Bear Knight beside her, "Is this the worker leader?"

"No, this isn't." The White Bear Knight gave a negative answer after a brief recognition and pointed to another man nearby, who was looking at Perfikot with anger and regret, and inford her, "That's the worker leader I told you about who's wanted."

Perfikot raised her head and after glancing at him said directly, "Make these workers quiet down. If you can't, I'll have the City Guard shut them up with guns.

Of course, if you don't want to talk properly, I don't mind having the Steam Knights wipe you all out."

This threat achieved imdiate results, especially when the four Steam Knights slamd their heavy tower shields into the ground, producing a dull sound.

The worker leader, threatened by Perfikot, could only suppress his anger and have his fellow workers calm the others, making them all silent.

Seeing everyone finally quiet down, Perfikot stepped onto a stack of boxes, looking down at everyone, she asked, "What exactly do you want? Have I not paid you or provided housing and food?

Are my demands too stringent? There're factories in the Empire's mainland where workers have to work eighteen hours continuously, while you only need to work eight hours, spending six hours getting familiar with your work, and anwhile, you earn 20% more wages than your counterparts in the mainland.

I believe I've offered a very generous package, why do you feel dissatisfied? Just because soone told you that your life isn't as good as a noble's?"

If Perfikot were rely accusing these workers of being insatiable without evidence, it wouldn't be effective at all.

But Perfikot, in fact, pays great attention to the workers' compensation, ensuring they receive sufficiently good benefits.

Therefore, when Perfikot spoke, many of the workers quickly fell silent, not having any real discontent with their current jobs.

It wasn't until then that soone shouted to Perfikot, "But they're taking Balas away!"

Balas is the na of that worker leader.
