Perfikot chose to temporarily stay in Beloburg to closely monitor the progress of the Flying Airship project.
Her residence, naturally, was the hotel owned by the Brandlis Clan.
She rented an entire top floor of the hotel as her temporary quarters, and the maid dolls and Autonomous Knights by the Northern Territory Count's side were indispensable.
She even arranged a squad of flight armor-equipped Autonomous Knights and a Flying Airship on the hotel roof for defense against possible aerial attacks and, if necessary, to escort Perfikot in an airborne escape.
"Such unnecessary security asures. Do you all truly believe soone would fly a Flying Airship over Beloburg's skies and launch an aerial assault on this hotel?" Perfikot felt helpless, though she did not oppose necessary security asures, but found such exaggerated arrangents rather displeasing.
Yet the old housekeeper responsible for these tasks argued, "Miss, these asures are not ant to exert real influence, though they must fulfill their purpose when necessary. They are primarily to display your identity and avoid unwanted trouble."
To the old housekeeper, these asures indeed seed overblown, but were very necessary due to Perfikot's status.
"Alright, alright! I do not wish to argue about these matters. Let Mr. Jas co up; I want to know what urgent business he has to see about." Perfikot waved her hand, her gaze turned to a long-absent agent being stopped by guards at the hotel entrance.
Although Perfikot only rented the hotel's top floor, guards and sentries were still stationed at the hotel's entrance to prevent disturbances from unimportant people, with strict checks required for all hotel entries.
This was precisely the reason why Perfikot found these security asures pertinent.
She didn't mind rigorous checks on the floor she inhabited, but saw no need for sentries even at the hotel entrance.
This treatnt made her feel less like the Northern Territory Count and more like Victoria's Empress.
"As you command, Miss." With that, the old housekeeper turned and left to escort Jas in through the hotel's main entrance.
...............
At the entrance of the hotel, Jas was undergoing scrutiny by the entrance guards.
The detail and ticulousness of the check left Jas, an experienced agent, astounded, impressed by the Northern Territory Intelligence Agency's organizational precision and skilled operations.
Being positioned by the Imperial Military Intelligence Departnt as an agent in the New Continent colony, Jas possessed considerable agent skills.
Although not as exaggerated as those Legendary agents in Perfikot's original world cinematic works, his abilities in this world, combined with Extraordinary Abilities and Alchemical artifacts, allowed him to perform tasks similar to those of his counterparts from other realms.
Yet regardless, as a seasoned agent, he found almost no viable thod to bypass these security asures and infiltrate the hotel.
The main entrance guards and checkpoint to a veteran agent were rely decorative; they posed no real barrier though thorough, deterring regular folk and petty thieves but not professionals.
Yet beyond this frontline lay the true challenge.
Following the old housekeeper's arrival at the hotel entrance to escort Jas inside, this veteran agent perpetually sensed discomfort, an indescribable feeling of being watched, acutely aware of being targeted by so weapon.
A special feature of an Alchemical artifact he carried allowed him to perceive hostile intentions or eyes upon him, and nearby danger.
No matter how he simulated or attempted, he couldn't shake off this shadow-like targeting, as if he were a clown performing on stage, observed by an audience below.
Jas could perceive he was being identified by the hotel's hidden sentries and the Steam Knights positioned throughout the hotel.
Should he dare act out or engage in hazardous behavior, in the span of a breath, he would be riddled with holes.
"Should you dare act recklessly, no need for them, I shall be the one to personally remove your head first." The old housekeeper's words awakened Jas to the realization that the seemingly ordinary elderly before him was indeed a powerful knight already ascended to Legendary status.
"In the Northern Territory, does the Count require such stringent protection?" Jas straightforwardly asked the old housekeeper.
"Perhaps she does, or perhaps she doesn't; but nothing is ever unnecessary when protecting the Miss," the old housekeeper straightforwardly replied, subsequently leading Jas to an elevator guarded by soldiers.
This hotel boasted fifteen floors, quite a significant height for the era.
Thus, several elevators were installed, novel and fashionable items of the ti.
Ensuring Perfikot's security, all hotel elevators were tightly controlled; the elevators' doors on the top floor were locked, inaccessible directly to reach Perfikot's top-tier quarters.
The old butler and Jas rode an elevator arriving beneath the top floor, undergoing detailed checks and frisking once more.
"Lord Foster, you too as the Count's butler, undergo such thorough inspection?" Jas observed the staff conducting a particularly scrupulous frisking of the old housekeeper, his curiosity piqued.
To him, it was natural for this security system to fend off outsiders but not necessary to monitor the internal people, correct?
Yet the old housekeeper simply glanced back before casually stating, "Should anyone disguise themselves as , it could be a deadly loophole, and thus no one is exempt."
"What a fearso security!" Jas marveled, though disguises and transformations seed exaggerated, they were skills within an old agent's repertoire.
Should need arise, Jas could, within half an hour, disguise himself as another person replicating none of Alchemy's Extraordinary Abilities.
This was his sole sche conceived upon these security asures, the sole path allowing safe hotel entry.
Naturally, his target was neither the old housekeeper but ordinary hotel guests or staff; with a valid identity, blending in wasn't difficult.
However, the old housekeeper's precautionary self-check astonished Jas, others adopting asures examining internal personnel?
Yet he cared little, purely habitually simulating feasible infiltrations but lacking any genuine intentions.
With the old housekeeper, Jas climbed a flight of stairs then finally t Perfikot enjoying her tea.
