They sacrificed themselves, and the entire capital of France, to offer sacrifices to the gods, pleading for the power to avenge against Victory, begging the gods to strike down the flying city that symbolizes the evil rule of the Victorians.

The mother threw her baby into the ice pit, the old man cut his wrist to draw an array with blood on the snow, the young sang hymns hand in hand as they stepped into the fire of self-immolation... All of this was rely to add a grain of weight to the scales of the Divine Realm.

Their sacrifice was not out of piety, but born out of despair and hatred.

The French used their last flesh and soul in an attempt to gain the gods' rcy, even if such rcy was rely a prelude to destruction.

The gods responded to this sacrifice, or rather it was a result deliberately guided by the gods.

After all, the aim of the gods was to destroy the current world and humanity, to reshape divine rule over the world.

These followers were from the beginning the expendables in the gods' plan, otherwise why would the divine need followers to sacrifice their lives and flesh?

The response of the gods was not a rciful salvation, but a cold calculation—they did not need the loyalty of the followers, but their destruction.

And what was gained by sacrificing a city, was the opened gates to the Divine Realm and the descent of the gods' army into this world.

An army of thousands, though each person emanated the aura of a demigod, for a top alchemist like Perfikot, who had witnessed demigods, dissected divine beings, and even stepped into the demigod realm herself, how could she not see that these so-called demigods were rely legendary-level Extraordinaries hosting a strand of divinity, thereby gaining partial demigod traits?

In the eyes of these pseudo-demigods, there was no light of wisdom, only chanical obedience, as if they were nothing but puppets in the hands of the divine.

Even though these pseudo-demigods wore very fine equipnt, their style was still stuck in the mythical era.

Heavy armor engraved with complex divine patterns, holding spears and great swords in hand, as if they still lived in the glory of the cold weapon era.

If it were still the cold weapon era, perhaps this army could make Perfikot despair, void of any thoughts of resistance.

But now it is already the era of hot weapons, not to ntion the steam armor and electromagnetic railgun created by Perfikot, just the various modern weapons of humanity now are not sothing these pseudo-demigods with only armor and lee weapons can contend with.

"I thought they prepared sothing for , it turns out to be just this?" Perfikot looked at the descending divine army before her, with an indescribably strange expression on her face.

She stood in the command room of the Floating City, looking down through the thick bulletproof glass at the pseudo-demigod army lined up below, her lips curling into a mocking smile.

She originally thought the gods would send out real divine attendants, or even a few subordinate gods personally descending, but ended up waiting only for a bunch of puppets in divine guise.

Though what appeared before Perfikot was an army of about several thousand, with each one of them possessing near demigod strength, they truly were nothing in Perfikot's eyes.

The ornithopters she designed were waiting above the clouds, with corrosive alchemy warheads and armor-piercing shells loaded in their triple-barreled rotating cannons, enough to let these mass-produced divine race understand what "the limits of carbon-based lifeforms" ans.

Her fingertips tapped lightly on the console, as if pondering how to elegantly end this farce.

She originally thought she would have to face at least dozens or more of subordinate gods or divine attendants, and yet what ca was a group of pseudo-demigods?

This made her feel a bit underestimated—as if a top chess player set up an endga, only to be t by a child who only knows how to play five-in-a-row.

Can't help but feel, is that all?

Perfikot sighed softly, then pressed a button on the console.

The Floating City's anti-air array slowly activated, with cannons aid at the pseudo-demigod army lined up below.

She was not in a hurry to fire, but observed the reaction of these pseudo-demigods with interest.

They seed unaware that they were standing on the brink of death, chanically marching forward, as if their existence was rely to fulfill a predetermined destruction.

"Let it begin." Perfikot said softly, her tone carrying a hint of faint weariness.

As the Floating City's artillery rained down, the scorching barrage scribbled countless deadly arcs in the air, the pseudo-demigods' armor rapidly disintegrated under the corrosive alchemy warheads, their bodies turned to ash in the explosions, as if they had never existed.

However, this divine army was not without the power to retaliate.

Despite their equipnt style being stuck in the mythical era, the divinity they hosted granted them power and resilience beyond mortals.

After the initial barrage, the pseudo-demigods began their counterattack.

Electric arcs entwined their spears and great swords, each swing accompanied by thunderous booms.

Several spears were hurled towards the Floating City, spear tips leaving fiery trails through the air, striking directly at the Floating City's hull like teors.

Though these attacks did not penetrate the armor of the Floating City, at the mont of impact, electric arcs jumped across the tal surface, emitting a sharp buzzing sound, as if warning Perfikot—these pseudo-demigods were not completely powerless.

anwhile, so special units among the pseudo-demigods began to showcase their abilities.

Several warriors clad in rune-heavy armor raised their rune shields, magic arrays erging on the shield surfaces, forming a semi-transparent barrier that withstood the second round of the Floating City's artillery fire.

Their movents were chanical yet perfectly coordinated, as if manipulated by so invisible force.

The pseudo-demigods behind the barrier quickly regrouped, beginning to advance towards the Floating City, their steps uniform and synchronized, like a well-trained army.

Perfikot stood in the command room, watching all this with a cold gaze.

She was not surprised by the pseudo-demigods' counterattack, instead revealing a faint smile.

She simply whispered a new command to the ssenger by her side.

The bottom of the Floating City slowly opened, releasing dozens of ornithopters that sward towards the pseudo-demigod army below like a swarm of bees.

The ornithopters' triple-barreled rotary cannons spewed scorching tongues of fire, alchemy warheads tracing bright paths through the air, hitting the pseudo-demigods' barriers.

The corrosive substances rapidly ate away at the surface of the rune shields, causing the barriers to crack, finally shattering with a crisp sound.

Exposed without the protection of their barrier, the pseudo-demigods beca targets for the ornithopters' firepower, their armor quickly disintegrating under the corrosive alchemy warheads, bodies turning to ash in the explosions.

However, the pseudo-demigods' counterattack did not cease.
