Now reading: Chapter 15: The boy they start talking about in Europe from FOOTBALL GOD SYSTEM: RISE OF A MONARCH, a Sports novel by SegunMayowajohn.

Three days in Belgium was enough to change how Sean Cole Nelson viewed football forever.

Not completely.

But permanently.

There were things you could unlearn in life.

And there were things that, once seen, could never be unseen again.

European football fell into the second category.

Ding.

[EUROPEAN ADAPTATION UPDATE]

Integration Level: 27%

Tactical Stability: IMPROVING

System State: HYBRID MODE ACTIVE

Sean sat on the edge of his bed staring at the blue screen.

Hybrid Mode.

The system had stopped forcing pure instinct.

Now it was blending him.

Training him.

Reshaping him.

And the scariest part?

It was working.

Outside his window, Brussels was already awake.

Cars moved in structured lanes.

People walked with purpose.

Everything felt organized.

Even chaos here looked controlled.

Sean exhaled slowly.

"This place doesn’t forgive randomness..."

A knock ca at the door.

"Sean."

He stood imdiately.

Coach Velez.

The sa man who had traveled with him from Nigeria had now arrived in Belgium for evaluation supervision.

That alone told Sean everything.

This wasn’t casual anymore.

"You’re late by two minutes," Velez said calmly.

Sean frowned slightly.

"I wasn’t aware there was a strict ti schedule for personal rest."

Velez stared at him.

"That sentence is why you are still not European."

Silence.

Then—

"Get ready."

Training day 4.

But this one felt different.

Because today—

there were more people watching.

Sean noticed it imdiately upon arrival.

More coaches.

More evaluators.

And sothing else.

Clubs.

Ding.

[SCOUTING PRESENCE DETECTED]

Attention Level:

INTERNATIONAL

Status:

ACTIVE MONITORING

Sean’s chest tightened slightly.

"So it’s already happening..."

Isabella wasn’t on the sidelines today.

But Sean could feel her absence strangely.

Like emotional silence.

And that bothered him more than he expected.

Training began imdiately.

No warm introduction.

No easing in.

Just pressure.

Structured drills.

Positional discipline tests.

Reaction-speed passing systems.

Sean entered the first drill carefully.

And imdiately—

he felt it.

Europe had changed pace.

Faster decisions.

Tighter spacing.

Smarter pressing.

He received the ball.

One touch.

Pressure instantly.

Loss.

Whistle.

No reaction.

Just reset.

Again.

Loss.

Again.

Better.

By the fourth repetition—

sothing clicked.

Not fully.

But partially.

Sean stopped trying to escape structure.

He started using it.

Ding.

[TACTICAL INTEGRATION BREAKTHROUGH]

New Efficiency Layer:

Activated

Sean moved differently now.

Less wasted motion.

Less unnecessary flair.

But still—

danger remained in him.

Controlled danger.

He received the ball under pressure.

Instead of dribbling—

he used a one-touch diagonal pass into space.

Imdiately moved.

Space opened.

Chain reaction.

Goal.

Silence.

Then murmurs.

"That was clean."

"Very clean."

"But not flashy."

One evaluator frowned slightly.

"He’s adapting too well now."

Another replied:

"That’s the point."

Sean exhaled slowly.

Europe wasn’t about highlight clips.

It was about survival in structure.

And he was learning that language.

Then ca the scrimmage.

Full intensity.

Elite academy players.

Tactical discipline enforced strictly.

Sean started centrally.

And imdiately—

he felt sothing different.

Respect.

Not personal.

Positional.

Players now passed to him quicker.

Trusted him more.

Because he wasn’t breaking structure anymore.

He was fitting inside it.

Kayode wasn’t here.

But Sean could feel sothing similar.

Competition energy.

Invisible.

Constant.

Sean received possession near midfield.

Pressure approaching.

Two defenders.

Then three.

No space.

Old Sean would have forced a dribble.

Nigeria Sean.

But not this version.

Not anymore.

He paused.

Read.

Waited.

Then—

a small gap opened.

He slipped a quick pass.

Moved imdiately.

Space created.

Chain reaction again.

Ding.

[DECISION SPEED UPGRADE]

Reaction Efficiency:

14%

Sean blinked slightly.

"Good..."

He whispered.

But sothing still felt missing.

Because while he was adapting—

he wasn’t dominating.

Not yet.

Europe didn’t reward adaptation alone.

It rewarded mastery.

Then it happened.

The mont that changed everything.

A long ball ca into midfield chaos.

Sean tracked it instantly.

So did another player.

Collision course.

But Sean arrived first.

Controlled.

Turned.

And for the first ti in Belgium—

he saw it clearly.

Space.

Not just gaps.

But structure weakness.

A flaw in the system.

He moved.

Fast.

One defender beaten.

Second approached.

Sean didn’t panic.

Instead—

he combined instinct and structure perfectly.

A fake pass.

A sudden acceleration.

Then a through-ball no one expected.

Perfect timing.

Perfect weight.

Goal.

Silence.

Then reaction.

Not loud.

Not emotional.

Respectful.

Calculated.

One evaluator stood up slightly.

"That... was adaptation."

Another nodded slowly.

"But also creativity."

Pause.

"Hybrid is forming."

Sean stood still for a mont after the play.

He didn’t celebrate.

He just... processed.

Because for the first ti—

he felt it.

He wasn’t Nigerian style anymore.

He wasn’t European style either.

He was sothing in between.

Ding.

[HYBRID EVOLUTION PROGRESS]

Stage:

INITIAL FORMATION COMPLETE

New Attribute:

⚽ Adaptive Creativity

Sean exhaled slowly.

"Still not enough..."

After training ended—

Sean sat alone on the bench again.

Breathing heavily.

Sweat dripping.

ntal fatigue stronger than physical.

Then—

a voice ca from behind.

"You’re improving faster than expected."

Sean turned.

Coach Velez.

Watching him carefully.

Sean nodded slightly.

"I’m trying."

Velez shook his head.

"That’s not enough."

Pause.

"You are being watched now."

Sean looked up.

"I know."

Velez stepped closer.

"No."

Pause.

"Not by ."

Long silence.

Then—

"By clubs."

Sean’s heartbeat slowed.

"Already?"

Velez nodded once.

"Your clips are circulating in European evaluation channels."

Pause.

"And your adaptability is attracting attention."

Sean leaned forward slightly.

"That fast?"

Velez answered calmly.

"In Europe... nothing is slow."

Silence followed.

Then Velez spoke again.

"But attention is not approval."

Sean looked at him.

"What do you an?"

Velez’s eyes narrowed slightly.

"You are still unstable."

Pause.

"Too emotional in decision transitions."

Another pause.

"And still dependent on instinct in high pressure."

Sean listened carefully.

No argunt.

Because it was true.

Velez stepped back.

"Fix it."

Then he walked away.

Simple.

Direct.

Cold.

That night—

Sean returned to his room exhausted.

But unable to sleep.

So many thoughts.

So many adjustnts.

So much pressure.

Then—

his phone buzzed.

Unknown international number.

Sean hesitated.

Then opened it.

ssage:

"Belgium Youth Evaluation Panel has reviewed your latest training clip."

Pause.

"You are being monitored for accelerated club introduction phase."

Sean’s eyes widened slightly.

"Club introduction phase..."

He repeated softly.

Then another ssage appeared.

"First informal interest noted from European academy network."

Sean sat still.

Completely still.

Because now—

this wasn’t potential anymore.

It was movent.

Forward movent.

Ding.

[CAREER PROGRESSION UPDATE]

European Interest Level:

RISING FAST

Next Stage:

⚽ Club Observation Integration

Sean leaned back slowly.

Then whispered into the quiet room:

"I’m not just visiting Europe anymore..."

Pause.

"...I’m being evaluated for it."

And sowhere in Belgium—

football had officially started watching him differently.

Not as a guest.

Not as a prospect.

But as sothing that might beco unavoidable.
