With only a few days remaining until the Champions League final, Kai received an unexpected visitor at his ho.

Jack Wilshere burst through the door holding a bottle of red wine. Kai crossed his arms and raised an eyebrow at the sight.

"I need an explanation," Kai said. "You're not seriously suggesting we drink together a few days before the Champions League final, are you?"

Wilshere offered an awkward smile and placed the bottle on the table. "Of course not! I just wanted to bring a good bottle for my friend."

Kai stared at him. "Thank you, but you know I don't drink."

Wilshere opened his mouth, then shrugged. "A birthday gift?"

Kai continued to stare.

Wilshere finally sighed in defeat. "Alright… I was hoping I could stay at your place for a few days. Just until the final is over."

Kai looked surprised. "Why?"

A shadow of loneliness crossed Wilshere's face. "You know… I've already ruined my marriage. My relationship with the children is getting worse every day. Today they went to Lauren's place, and being alone in that empty house… it feels unbearable."

He shook his head, struggling to continue. "They really hate right now."

Wilshere had been the one at fault in the breakdown of his marriage. Although he had been trying to repair the damage, his efforts had so far been unsuccessful.

"You still haven't resolved things with Lauren?" Kai asked.

Wilshere smiled bitterly. "I used to think she was the kindest woman in the world… until she slapped and then threw over her shoulder with a perfect judo throw.. That's when I realised I never truly knew her. Once I started earning serious money, I changed. I had everything I thought I wanted, but I lost what mattered most."

His eyes grew watery. "Do you know what that feels like?"

Kai exhaled slowly. "You can stay for two days."

Wilshere's face brightened instantly. "Really? Thanks, man! My luggage is in the car — I'll bring it in!"

. . .

That evening, Kai was training in his ho gym when Wilshere wandered in wearing pajamas and sat down to watch.

"Do you really train like this every day?" Wilshere asked.

"Yes," Kai replied, continuing his flexibility routine.

"Doesn't it get boring?"

Kai paused and looked at him. "Jack, you used to work extrely hard, too. What happened?"

Wilshere let out a long sigh. "Alcohol… won… money. Take your pick."

Kai stood up, sweat glistening on his skin. "Then why not start again?"

"My body isn't what it used to be…"

"Don't make excuses," Kai said firmly, pointing at him. "You're only twenty-three years old. If you don't want to give up on yourself, then get moving. I don't have ti for people who only complain. You still have enough ti to turn things around — for your children, for Lauren, and for yourself."

He moved to the bench press. "How much could you bench before?"

"60," Wilshere replied quietly.

"Very good. Today you're doing 70kg."

Wilshere stared at him in disbelief. "Are you joking? I haven't managed 12 in ages!"

"I'm not joking," Le Kai said seriously. "If you want to change, if you don't want your children to look down on you, if you want to win back Lauren and defeat the man you beca — then push it."

Wilshere's expression shifted rapidly. For a mont, Le Kai thought he might storm out.

"Are you going to be a coward?" Kai asked quietly.

"F**k!!!!" Wilshere cursed loudly. He ripped off his T-shirt, revealing a pale, soft belly.

Le Kai couldn't help but smile. "Look at that… what a cute little guy!"

"Shut up, you bastard!!" Wilshere cursed angrily. He climbed back onto the bench press, gripped the bar with both hands, and roared at Kai, "I'll make you shut that mouth!"

Kai simply shrugged, unfazed.

Wilshere took several sharp breaths, then pushed with everything he had. His face flushed, his arms trembled violently, but he stubbornly drove the barbell upward inch by inch.

Bang!

The barbell slamd back into place. Wilshere shot up triumphantly. "See! I told you I'd make you shut up! Did you see that?"

Le Kai smirked. "Look at your arms shaking. That was 70kg, and you're already exhausted."

Without another word, Le Kai lay down on the bench. He completed the first set of 22 repetitions, then the second. By the third set, he dropped to 60kg, yet the intensity and muscle strain visibly increased with each rep.

Wilshere watched in silence, genuinely awed by Le Kai's renowned physical conditioning.

After six demanding sets, Le Kai stood up and raised an eyebrow at the visibly deflated Wilshere.

. . .

Later, after showering, the two stood together on the balcony, quietly sipping tea. The night lights of London stretched out before them.

Wilshere's voice was soft and reflective. "I grew up in London. This city has always been my second ho."

He paused for a mont. "I once dread of becoming Arsenal's hero. That's why I asked the Professor for the number 10 shirt… and then I threw it all away. How pathetic."

Kai looked at him seriously. "Everyone makes mistakes, Jack. What matters now is whether you're willing to fight to get back what you lost."

Wilshere sighed. "I don't even know where to start."

"I feel like we had this conversation before," Kai rubbed his face. "For starters, how about beginning with Lauren?"

Wilshere gave a bitter laugh. "Because I kept showing up, she called the police. The court has issued a restraining order. I'm not allowed near the house."

Kai shook his head, amused despite himself. "Then start with the children. Let them get to know the real you again."

Wilshere's expression flickered with uncertainty. "Do you think I can?"

"You won't know until you try."

. . .

The next day, Kai reluctantly accompanied Wilshere to Lauren's residence.

"Why exactly do I have to co with you?" Le Kai asked, clearly annoyed.

Wilshere grinned. "Because I'm not allowed near the house. I needed a legitimate reason."

Kai rolled his eyes. "You're such a pain."

They soon arrived at a modest but charming two-storey house with a small, well-tended garden. As Wilshere had ntioned, his children were big fans of Kai. Since the family troubles began, their admiration for their father had been replaced by hero-worship of the Arsenal captain.

"Are the gifts ready?" Wilshere asked anxiously.

Kai gave him a sideways look. "I'm already helping you, and now I have to bring gifts too?"

"I'll make it up to you later."

"Hey, Lauren!" Wilshere greeted her with forced cheerfulness.

Lauren's gaze passed over him almost as if he weren't there. Instead, she turned to Le Kai with a warm, polite smile and extended her hand.

"Hello, Kai. It's a pleasure to finally et you."

Le Kai glanced sideways at Wilshere with a look that clearly said Really, bro? before shaking her hand.

"Hello, Lauren. It's nice to et you, too."

The mont the children saw him, their faces lit up with pure excitent.

"Captain!"

"Captain!"

Le Kai smiled warmly, crouching down to their eye level. He gently ruffled their hair with both hands.

"You should call Uncle," he said kindly, his voice soft and affectionate.
