You failed them, the Queen whispered from the constantly shifting shadows, her presence wrapping around his mind like a suffocating serpent. You are weak. Your arrival brought only ruin. Submit to the hive. Beco one with the dark, and the pain will end.

For a terrifying, agonizing heartbeat, Sol’s silver domain cracked. The darkness began to pour in, ready to overwrite his consciousness and turn his physical body into an empty, drooling husk.

But unfortunately for her, Sol was a transmigrator.

The Queen’s illusions were flawless, incredibly potent manifestations of primal terror. But they were exactly that... primal. They were rooted in the localized logic of the Great Orrath, designed to break the minds of native beasts and native n. She expected her prey to shatter under the weight of despair, to surrender to the overwhelming, ancient predator that had ruled the dark for centuries.

She didn’t know what she was trying to digest.

As the simulated despair threatened to drown him, a different set of mories sparked to life. mories of Earth. The glaring lights of modern cities, the cold logic of a different reality, and, most importantly, the terrifying, absolute, mind-shattering void between worlds that his soul had already crossed to get here.

His soul possessed a fundantal density, a structural integrity forged by an otherworldly journey that the primitive Sovereign simply couldn’t comprehend or easily dismantle.

And with that, sothing scattered throughout his body, started to gather in his hollow cavity on the chest, before rging with the Silver liquid.

I am not from your world, Sol’s ntal projection suddenly opened its eyes.

The simulated wails of the enslaved villagers froze. The bleeding phantoms of his friends glitched, their forms blurring into static as Sol’s pragmatic, stubborn arrogance surged back to life. The anger that ignited in his chest wasn’t the frantic panic of a trapped animal, It was the cold, furious indignation of a hunter realizing the gods themselves had twisted fate, and he was soone who even dare fuck a goddess, what is this ant in front of him.

I survived the death! Sol roared in the ntal space. His voice shattered the illusion like brittle glass. The enslaved phantoms dissolved, tearing away the Queen’s constructed nightmare and returning them to the barren obsidian desert.

His silver aura exploded. It violently expanded into a blinding, tyrannical star of absolute authority that actively burned the encroaching darkness away.

I deceived an entire damn army of beasts! I even wiped your elites while you slept! Sol took a massive step forward in the mindscape, pointing a glowing silver finger directly at the multi-headed leviathan in the blood-red sky. You are nothing but a stationary loot drop hiding in the dirt! SUBMIT!

In the physical world, the toll of the taphysical war was becoming grueso. Sol’s body began to violently, uncontrollably tremble. His knuckles were white as snow where they maintained a death grip on the Void-Oak spear, using it as a crutch to keep his physical body upright on the dais.

The delicate capillaries in his eyes burst under the imnse intracranial pressure, turning the whites a terrifying, solid, weeping crimson. Blood dripped steadily from his nose, painting his chin and his leather armor red.

The spiritual tug-of-war was severe. It demanded every single, microscopic fraction of his concentration to force his Silver Liquid into the Queen’s damaged defenses. He battered against her ancient mind like a siege ram, striking the sa fracture in her injured soul over and over again. If he broke the link now, or if his focus slipped for a billionth of a second, the backlash would shatter his soul into a million pieces.

He was completely, utterly blind and deaf to the physical world around him.

Which ant he didn’t hear the deafening, explosive crash as the main tunnel entrance finally gave way.

BOOM!

The massive, petrified roots guarding the Royal Chamber were blasted apart in a shower of acidic sludge and shattered wood.

The commanders had arrived.

Dozens of Layer 2 Obsidian Ants, the size of armored cars, flooded into the cavern. They were followed by thousands of rusted-red soldier ants, their mandibles clicking in a frantic, terrifying crescendo of absolute rage. They had fought a war on the surface, survived the collapse of their crater, and raced through the dark miles of tunnels to protect their monarch.

What they saw froze them in their tracks for exactly one second.

The sacred cavern was in ruins. The glowing red royal eggs were trampled into paste. Lying dead in pools of their own superheated blood were the two colossal Royal Guards... the ultimate, invincible protectors of the hive.

And standing atop the sacred dais, his hands resting near the slumbering Queen, bleeding from his eyes and nose, was the human.

The entire hive-mind let out a synchronized, shriek of pure, unadulterated murder.

They all charged at once.

The cavern shook as the massive Layer 2 Commanders scrambled over the dunes of eggs, their superheated mandibles glowing with lethal, white-hot intent. They didn’t care about the physical exhaustion of their surface battle. They were driven by the absolute biological imperative to eradicate the threat to their Queen.

Sol’s physical instincts... the heightened reflexes hamred into his cells... scread at him to move. He could feel the vibrations of the charging horde through the soles of his boots. He could feel the sudden, massive spike in ambient heat as the Commanders closed the distance.

But he couldn’t defend himself. He couldn’t raise his spear. He couldn’t even open his eyes.

Don’t move, his pragmatic mind clamped down on his physical reflexes. If you dodge, the ntal link breaks. You die anyway. Finish the cast!

In the ntal landscape, the Queen sensed the arrival of her army. A cruel, triumphant vibration echoed through the dark void.

My children are here, she mocked, her psychic pressure intensifying, trying to crush Sol’s silver domain once and for all. You have lost! Your flesh will be consud before your mind even breaks.
