The next mont, Nestor introduced the five of them to Roland, but mainly focusing on the man who was wearing a different outfit than the group.
According to Nestor, the man's na was Jalen. Apparently, he was the son of the real owner of this plot of land before, the local Chairman of this town- Jansen.
Unlike a city that was run by a Mayor and seven city councilors, a town only has one person to manage it. In the case of Tree Town, it was Jansen, the chairman and Jalen was his son.
"It's nice to et you, I did not expect that you are actually very young, even younger than ," Jalen greeted and reached out his hand with a smile.
Roland smiled in return and shook his hand in a friendly manner. Though while he was smiling outside, he was actually secretly musing inside.
When Nestor introduced Jalen earlier, he realized that Jalen was actually sizing him up as well as Janine beside him. When Jalen spoke, although it sounded polite, Roland could feel that there was so hidden tone of superiority behind it, as if he was secretly looking down on Roland.
On the other hand, Roland did not find it strange. As the son of the 'local snake', it could not be avoided that Jalen would be arrogant and proud. However, Roland did not mind it a bit. With his current strength and wealth, he was not even afraid of a City mayor, much less the son of so local snake in a small pond like the Tree Town.
"Is this your girlfriend? What a beautiful lady," Jalen suddenly remarked as he stared at Janine who was silently standing beside Roland.
Roland smiled and answered, "No, she's my friend as well as my driver."
"Really? What a waste," Jalen answered, shaking his head with a click of his tongue.
Roland tilted his head, confused about what kind of waste Jalen was talking about. He looked at Janine and noticed that she was not even least bit concerned at what Jalen had said, Roland also decided to ignore it, but this ti, he paid more attention to Jalen than before.
At this ti, Nestor faded out to the back as he let Jalen explain the details to Roland.
Although Jalen was a bit condescending in Roland's opinion, he could not deny the fact that he indeed was capable. He explained to Roland the matters regarding the land, and even told Roland honestly that the reason his father sold this plot of land 'hurriedly' was just because they were lacking in money right now because apparently, Jalen planned to start a big business and in order to do that, he needed a large amount of money as a capital.
The ten hectares of land was sold to Roland for 800,000. Although Jalen would not get all of it, getting half of it as a starting capital should not be a problem for him. Even in the city, this amount of money was already huge enough to start a big business. Roland wondered what kind of business this Jalen was trying to start, and for his father to beco supportive of it, it was surely not sothing small like his start-up Sparkling Buds restaurant.
According to Jalen, this huge piece of land was actually an inheritance left to them by their ancestors. Due to the 'business' opportunity, Jalen's father, Jansen, did not hesitate to sell this land to invest in his son's 'grand plan.'
However, although Roland was curious as to what kind of investnt it was, he did not bother asking and allowed Jalen to talk about it.
After so 'boasting', Jalen finally ntioned that all the matters regarding the plot of land were already ready. The only reason they were here was to review the previous asurents and make sure that they got everything right. As for the papers, Jalen said that their lawyers would settle it and that there was no need for them to pay attention to it.
Roland did not interrupt him and rely listened to the side. After a while, Jalen's topic finally shifted to sothing else.
"Oh right, Roland, you're very young, you must still be studying right?" Jalen asked.
Roland nodded his head, not giving it much of a thought. However, Jalen's next words made him look at him with an amused gaze.
"Man, what a pity. If I were you, I'd quit while it's still early."
Roland suddenly felt like laughing hearing that.
Others would advise you to continue studying even if it becos hard, while Jalen advice was the other way around.
Quit while it was still early? What an advice. What a good man you are!
Twitching his lips, Roland could not help but ask, "I don't plan on quitting, but why do you think it's better to quit than to continue?"
As they say, each person has a unique life and each of us has a different perception of what was around us. One might think that it was better to stop going to school, while others might not think so. Roland was curious as to why Jalen decided to give such advice.
Jalen shook his head, "I don't think going to school is the key to riches," he paused for a bit before continuing.
Jalen clenched his fist passionately as he said, "You see, most people would go to school to study hard in the bid to transcend their current status. Most poor people would struggle, even go into massive amounts of debts just so they could continue their studies.
However, think about it, of those who struggle for their studies, how many of them truly beca rich? How many of them truly beca capable after studying more than ten years?
In the end, most of them still ended up working for those who did not focus on studies, but focused on their strengths early on instead.
If it was before, I would surely not give such advice. However, we are now in an era of the internet. If you truly want to learn sothing, a simple search in boogle will allow you to master such crafts if you just put yourself into it. There was no need to pay for tuition, spend hours in subjects that you would probably not be able to use during your entire career.

He faced Roland and stated with a serious face, "I don't know why you guys buy this plot of land, however, you being here ans that you are greatly trusted by your parents like .
For them to allow you to manage this big plot of land ans that you either have capabilities or just a spoiled brat like those jerks in the city. However, I am betting that you are one of the forr and sincerely advise you to stop your studies and do not waste your precious ti in school."
Hearing Jalen's passionate pitch, Roland did not refute it imdiately, even thinking about it calmly.
However, he later shook his head, and said, "Good reasoning actually, however, I still don't plan on stopping my studies. At least, I don't have any plans yet.
And as for what you said earlier, I think you are getting it wrong. I don't have any parents, I ca here on my own accord."
