After a few minutes of waiting, Roland finally saw Janine walking over from afar.
"She's here," Roland comnted.
Madison also looked over curiously, especially after hearing the word 'she'.
She wondered who this person that Roland was waiting for earlier.
From what she knew, Roland has never been the type of a person that has a lot of friends. Previously, he would often sit silently and won't bother about communicating with others at all. Heck, his relationship with Anna before was just considered as rumors and nothing else. It was only a few days ago that everyone learned the truth that the two of them really had a relationship before.
Hence, Madison wondered just who was this 'she' that they were waiting for. She wondered what sort of relationship the two of them had.
After a while, Janine finally ca into her view.
The first words that popped out of her head upon seeing her was, "How cute… and simple…"
"Hello," Janine greeted the two of them the mont she arrived.
Madison smiled and nodded in return. "Hello, I am Madison, Roland's classmate. Nice eting you!"
She introduced herself before Roland could, afraid that it might cause so misunderstanding that might trouble Roland later on. She did not know their relationship, but it was better to be safe than sorry after all.
"I am Janine, his personal driver," Janine answered straightly without sha.
"Ahh?" A confused look appeared on Madison's face.
lightsΝοvεl ƈοm "Driver?" She asked as she turned to Roland for clarification.
At the sa ti Roland was also surprised that Janine said it out loud without sha. Although there was no sha in being a driver, he still did not expect for her to admit it outrightly.
What he did not know was that Janine had actually said it deliberately. She already knew that Madison was the reason why she and Roland did not go ho together yesterday.
By saying that she was her personal driver, Janine wanted to make it clear that she was closer to Roland and that the two of them traveled together most of the ti.
Of course, Madison and Roland did not know her true motive. Nevertheless, none of them cared and none of them asked.
Roland explained to Madison. He had already told her about the 'adoption' so Madison was able to understand everything after a few explanations.
"I see. Although you've already told before, I still find it hard to believe you now have your own personal driver," she said. Being envious of Roland's circumstances was the best thing to describe her emotions right now.
However, she did not take it to heart and even made it her motivation to continue working harder. Soday, she will also have her own personal driver like him.
It was also at this mont that everything sank in for Madison. Unknowingly, Roland was no longer the person that she considered as soone like her. Roland has already transcended his humble background and could now be considered to be on par with Bryan and the others.
"Well, let's go, don't think too much about it," Janine said as she walked to the area where she parked the Ronda Civic.
Not long later, the trio arrived in front of the Ronda Civic.
Madison was imdiately captivated by the sight of the Ronda Civic. Although it was not as flashy as the sports car she had seen on the internet, the Ronda Civic was still a handso looking car that many dread of having.
After admiring the Ronda Civic, Madison was invited by Roland to co inside. Seeing that Madison seed excited about getting in, Roland offered her to sit at the front seat. After so persuasion, Madison reluctantly agreed.
This was a first experience for Madison. She ca from a humble background and although she competed on so pageants before to represent her school, she had never experienced riding such an expensive car, much less sat at the front seat. She could see the neat dashboard in front which greatly amazed her. bender
After a while, Janine asked about their destination.
At first, Madison still seed shy about riding such a car, so she said that they could just drop her off along the way. However, Janine and Roland assured her that it doesn't matter so she finally gave her complete address to them.
Janine was also sohow relieved that Madison no longer insisted on being dropped off midway. She was aware of the real situation and did not believe the rumors of the said cultists. She also knew that Madison almost beca a victim to Bryan's sha and she was worried that Bryan's group might attempt the sa situation again. Although she was mad that so of Roland's attention was being taken by Madison, Janine was still not a heartless person that would do anything to harm another person.
In order to save from high rental prices, Madison's house was a little far away from school. Normally, she would arrive ho after almost an hour of walking. Riding a public vehicle, arriving thirty minutes without traffic was not a problem.
This ti, due to how skillful Janine was, they actually arrived just barely at the fifteen minute mark. Because she would always help at her ho, Madison had always been conscious about her ti schedule.
She was surprised at how quick they arrived. She was both happy for being able to go ho early, and at the sa ti a little depressed for not being able to ride the car anymore.
"You're really a good driver, I didn't even notice that we are already here," she sighed as she looked at Janine with eyes full of admiration.
"I-I practiced a lot," Janine could only reply softly after seeing Madison's eyes.
"Well, thank you for sending here. I appreciate it very much, especially since Fore City has been very dangerous as of lately due. If I have so extra money in the future, I will surely offer so for gas, " she said with a deep bow.
Roland and Janine rely smiled, "Don't ntion it. As long as everyone you're ho safe."
After bidding farewell, Roland and Janine imdiately drove back to Sparkling Buds.
After parking at the back, Roland went inside Stacey's office while Janine stayed outside and began her research about the orphanage again. This ti, Roland reminded her to be extra careful due to his discovery at the hospital earlier. He told her that Councilor Brown was not as simple as he seed to be as well.
Inside the office, Roland assisted Stacey on her work as they talked about what happened during today. Well, it was mostly Roland that was talking while Stacey just listened to him talk.
"Hmm? Bryan sure has a lot of guts. As for Councilor Brown, are you sure you don't need my help? I can call Carrol and let her handle this matter you know," she said while stacking so papers over atop each other.
"Don't worry about it. This is not sothing that I could not handle," Roland laughed and assured her not to worry about it.
Roland was no longer the boy who didn't have the capability to fight back. The only thing that worries him now were the people around him. However, that was already solved as well after the System rewarded him with the guards. Each one of them were skilled and was a lot stronger compared to normal humans. Even the so-called cultivators won't be able to defeat them easily at the sa level.
And speaking of the guards, Roland communicated with One and briefed him of the events earlier.
One nodded and listened seriously.
After a while, One learned of all what he experienced inside the hospital as well as Roland's speculation about so matter.
"Earlier, we detected so rats snooping around the area near Sparkling Buds. They must be the people sent by Brown. How should we deal with them?" One reported after Roland finished speaking.
"Hmm? How many of them are there?"
"Only three. They are weak and belong to the sa group as we've seen them interact with each other earlier." One replied.
Roland nodded his head in understanding.
"Don't do anything to them yet as it might raise their vigilance towards us. Continue to monitor them without alerting them. If possible, try to track them back and see if they truly belong to Councilor Brown's forces."
"Also, while we're at it, investigate Councilor Brow thoroughly, including his involvent regarding the orphanage. We might be able to find sothing surprising there if we are lucky." Roland ordered.
Although was also investigating the orphanage, Roland thought that they would be able to obtain better results if it was done by One and the others. With their skills, it was not a problem for them to get results easily. Perhaps, the only thing that hindered One and the others now was the fact that there were only a few of them.
"I will see this matter myself," One stated calmly.
"Sure, no problem."
