Roland and abruptly stopped at the door of the store.
In front of them were five people staring at them with mixed emotions.
Looking at the bonnet and the knives pointed at the male and female cashier, one could imdiately tell what was going on.
Two of the robbers pointed two long knives towards the employee while the remaining one was holding a shopping trolley full of goods.
The two employees have pale faces with their hands raised up in mid-air. In front of the male employee was a lot of coins and bills.
In a heartbeat, Roland imdiately held Janine's hand and prepared to turn around and escape.
He was not so hero nor a saint who would save everyone experiencing misery in front of them.
He would help from ti to ti but not in an unfavorable situation such as these.
The robbers were ard and had hostages.
He also noticed that the clothes they were wearing were ragged and were already worn out. It could be seen at glance that they were from the poor society.
Roland does not dare to confront them and he has no courage to do so.
The best action to take in this kind of scenario was to escape.
Robbers like these were usually the poor who could only take a gamble.
Most of the ti, they were oppressed and were living a difficult life due to poverty and corrupt governnt.
Roland has long known of this side of society, in fact, he even considered robbing people before just so he could have so extra money. Fortunately, he stopped in ti and did not succumb to the temptation of the other side.
Roland was aware of his abilities, especially so when he took down the two body guards earlier with ease.
However, the two at that ti were not ard and were not truly desperate, it could be said that he has taken advantage of the other party's lack of vigilance, hence the result of him being able to subdue them with ease.
However, these robbers were different. They were ard and had probably deliberated over and over again whether they should rob or not.
And now that they have already set their mind to rob this convenience store, they would not easily waver and would surely do drastic asures if provoked.
The two employees were still safe, they were only here to rob, not to kill.
If for instance Roland decided to be a busy body and tried to help them with having no assurance of their safety, it would surely beco a disaster.
His mind worked at an incomparable speed.
He imdiately decided that the best case scenario was for them to escape, let the robbers rob peacefully, let them leave the store unsatch, and in turn, they should leave the two employees alive.
Life was more important than money. It was not the two employees who were being robbed but the owner of the convenience store.
Their wages would not be cut due to this incident… perhaps
The two employees understand their situations carefully. Although they were afraid, they still obediently raised their hand in the air and followed the orders of the three robbers.
There was simply no need to risk their life offending these robbers when they were just workers who worked with minimum salary in these convenience stores. It was simply not worth it
Perhaps, Janine also understood the situation very carefully.
She tightly grasped Roland's hand as they both turned around, intending to escape, and not ddle the affairs of the others.
However, before they could take a single step back, one of the robbers suddenly pointed the knife at them with shaky hands.
"S-S-stop!"
It was apparent that he was also startled by Roland and Janine's sudden intrusion.
Their plan only revolved around the two employees and they simply did not think of the variables that might pop up during the robbery.
Seeing that Roland and Janine continued to step back, the robber got agitated as he pulled the female employee to his front while wrapping his arm around her neck at the sa ti pointing the sharp knife on it.
"I said stop, or else, this one will have a.. a f-faucet on her neck!"
Although what he said was a little bit threatening, the crack on his voice was a clear indication that he was also nervous.
Finally, Roland and Janine stopped in place, with the threat, they could simply not dare to move, afraid that a life might be taken.
"R-raise your hand and co over… there!" He said as he pointed towards his companion, who was also holding a knife while pointing it at the male employee.
Roland and Janine nodded their heads, as they obediently followed the robber's demand.
The situation has not turned into sothing drastic yet, Roland thought that there might still be a chance for this to end 'happily' for both parties involved.
However, unlike him, Janine was no longer as composed. She was just an 18 year old girl that liked to race.
She may look a little punky but her attitude was not that brave.
And unlike Roland who consud the Soul Enhancent Potion that ultimately allowed him to be calm and composed and could still think properly in this situation,
Janine was still like any other normal girl, faced with a situation like this, she was also afraid.
The only thing that prevented her from screaming in fright and panicking was Roland's right hand that was tightly holding her left.
And although Roland thought that the situation could still be salvaged, he simply did not dare to assu that everything would go according to his wishes.
While they walked towards the counter, his mind did not stop thinking as he opened the Face-Slapping Store, scrolled down on the list of items, and finally arrived at the item that he was looking for.

Considering the given situation, Roland did not waste any ti as he bought the skill and learned it imdiately.
