Chapter 1262: Chapter 1260: Loss of Image (4)

Beside the sickbed, three pairs of eyes—one large, two small—fell into an instant state of stasis.

At the center of their gaze was the absurdly advanced diagnostic thod.

Did their eyes deceive them? This highly-paid special dical professional just swallowed a blood sample?

It was the first ti they had heard of such an analytical thod.

This went far beyond simply tasting it. It was clear that the blood sample, upon entering his mouth, was sent straight to his stomach without hesitation.

What’s more disturbing was that, before this audacious gulp, the man had actually sniffed it first.

Watching him hold the instrunt in his hand, inspecting it thoughtfully as though lost in contemplation, they couldn’t help but recall his previous actions.

Adding to the eerie scene was his pale, gaunt face, conjuring uncontrollable associations with the legendary na—Vampire.

Mrs. Winslow’s recently revived expression had already splintered into pieces, leaving her montarily speechless.

“Doctor…what are the results of the analysis?”

Mr. Winslow seed to handle the situation slightly better, forcing himself to ask through gritted teeth.

The result… Crystal clear in color, rich and full-bodied in flavor, with excellent adhesion to the glass.

Fu Qian gave a slight nod, a string of silent appraisals forming instantly in his mind.

Of course, announcing such findings aloud would likely be too much for the patient’s family to bear. So tact was in order.

“For now, things seem fine. However, a more detailed analysis will take about another half an hour.”

Fu Qian replied with utter nonchalance, seemingly indifferent to the Winslows’ reactions. He placed the instrunt back and continued rummaging through his bag.

Fu Qian, of course, had no particular interest in drinking blood. What he had just done was quite simple. When his perception failed to detect any abnormalities, he resorted to using his most advanced analytical tool—Insight.

With its so-called Divine-Level efficacy, if there was anything suspicious hidden in Miss Winslow’s flesh or blood, it would surely reveal itself to so extent.

However, the results proved disappointing. A cup of blood down, and Miss Winslow turned out to be an entirely ordinary human being.

In fact, thanks to her affluent background, she didn’t even suffer from minor deficiencies like malnutrition.

Clearly, this was an even worse outco.

It all but confird that this was no simple contamination. Those enormous eyes were the result of a more abstract influence.

Thankfully, she had encountered a professional like him. Otherwise, Miss Winslow might not have escaped the fate of physical purification.

In any case, things were getting interesting.

No abnormalities were detected. A more detailed analysis result will take another half an hour…

Unfortunately, it was evident that all of Fu Qian’s ticulous efforts were unappreciated by the patient’s family.

It was still not the result they wanted, and coupled with an absurdly unorthodox thod, Mr. Winslow’s eyes already betrayed thinly-veiled anger.

“Doctor… We ca to you based on others’ recomndations, and ti is precious… Aside from this incomprehensible approach, shouldn’t we be doing sothing else?”

“You claim ti is precious, yet you’re making waste ti answering your questions?”

Faced with doubts about his professionalism, Fu Qian finally looked up, letting out a cold snort.

“So why would soone like , with my so-called incomprehensible thods, get recomnded to you?”

The earlier statents clearly failed to convince Mr. Winslow, but the rhetorical question in that last sentence interrupted whatever retort he had prepared.

Why? The answer was simple. They had no other choice.

The situation was too sensitive, and no one wanted to take on such a risk. Even if this person seed unreliable, he was practically the only option left.

“By the way, you are correct about one thing—her ti is indeed running out.”

Seeing the bluster of the angry family mber deflate, Fu Qian snorted again, further heightening the tense atmosphere.

“By sunrise at the latest, her condition will beco completely irreversible.”

Before sunrise?

Instinctively looking towards the window, Mrs. Winslow’s face went pale, her lower lip trembling slightly.

The starry sky suggested it was well into the night. In other words, they had at most a few hours left…

“Doctor…”

Breaking the stunned silence was, unexpectedly, the patient herself.

Miss Winslow, propped up in bed, had her gaze fixed on the bottles and jars in the dical kit.

“What… does blood taste like?”

Girl, your line of thought is rather unconventional.

The first thing Miss Winslow cared about was this? It seed that in the past few days, she must have given plenty of thought to life and death, making her relatively unphased by his earlier statent.

Analyzing the patient’s psychological state, Fu Qian shook his head inwardly.

Too bad her parents couldn’t be this calm. For a mont, they even forgot to question him, instead staring at their daughter in shock.

“Just curious,”

Jane explained with a smile under their scrutiny, appearing oddly intrigued by the thought of soone tasting a part of her.

“Not tasty.”

Before the family could interject, Fu Qian satisfied her curiosity, offering no embellishnts.

“If I could choose, I think it could at least use a bit of salt and spices.”

“Unfortunately, any addition would severely interfere with the results of the analysis.”

Fu Qian sighed with faint regret.

“…So, Doctor, what are you doing now?”

Clearly, Mr. Winslow found the topic of his daughter’s “culinary appeal” unbearable and finally interrupted to redirect the conversation.

“You said ti is precious, so of course, I’m not going to just sit here and wait for the results.”

Glancing at the now thoroughly rummaged kit, Fu Qian replied offhandedly. Then, as if recalling sothing, he slapped his forehead.

“Ah, I forgot. It’s not in here.”

The next mont, Fu Qian began patting himself down, eventually pulling sothing out of his pocket.

“Is that…also a diagnostic tool?”

As their attention was drawn to the pristine, ticulously crafted rattle bell, the Winslows’ confusion inevitably deepened.

“It is. And there’s no need for you to step aside,”

Fu Qian said as he stepped forward, motioning for Jane to look at the Eternal Clarity Mind in his hand. Without hesitation, he rang it.

If his opponent was indeed so kind of principle or law, he might as well use this opportunity to confirm its level of abstraction.

With the bell’s crisp chi, the repulsion of the Transcendent was once again felt.

Simultaneously, Miss Jane Winslow’s youthful face began to change.

In a manner defying comprehension, her absurdly large eyes quickly adjusted their proportions to harmonize with her other features.

Amazing.

Having been watching her closely, Fu Qian naturally didn’t miss this transformation. Unfortunately, even he couldn’t ascertain whether her blood and flesh had truly altered.

Because, before Extraordinary Perception could return, the changes on Miss Jane Winslow’s face had already vanished.

In comparison, the duration of Eternal Clarity Mind’s influence on her was significantly shorter.
