Chapter 1349: Chapter 1347: Fallen Guest Empire (6)

“Heh heh… From what I’ve found out, you don’t eat indiscriminately, do you.”

Unfortunately, facing Fu Qian’s “candor,” Marianne still seed unsatisfied.

“Every brain is carefully cooked, and even the thods vary. You only eat the right eye, too.”

It was clear she didn’t mind letting Fu Qian realize how well she understood the situation.

“And it’s obvious that you have your own insistence on the freshness of ingredients. When the last victim was found, their breathing hadn’t even completely stopped.”

“So much so that more than one person suspects whether your acts of slaughter are for venting anger or satisfying your particular dietary habits… In fact, this is why you haven’t been directly hanged. Many people are interested in what’s going on in your head, and now, of course, I am too.”

As Marianne spoke, the fleshy tendrils extending from her body circled around Fu Qian’s head, aiming squarely at his eyes.

“Can you tell how you opened your eyes in a place like this…and what did you see?”

What did you see…

The bizarre, sharp tendrils were right in front of him, with bloodstains faintly glistening on them, yet Fu Qian remained unreactive.

However, sothing in Marianne’s words seed to finally touch him, as he silently looked up the next mont, as if gazing at the infinite height above.

“You’re not going to tell you saw the Stars, are you? Frankly, that would disappoint and even make agree with those who critique your paintings as being ‘unoriginal.’

With that, Marianne paused for a mont, almost chuckling afterward, shaking her head with a sigh.

“How could that be? I’ve never seen stars from this place because I rember that window has never been opened.”

Fu Qian finally spoke, gesturing with his eyes toward the opposite side of the corridor.

There was a small, sealed skylight.

“Mind opening it for to take a look? After all, according to your plan, I won’t rember anything soon anyway.”

The next mont, he made a strange request.

“Marianne…”

Standing by, Ben hadn’t taken action yet but couldn’t help urging softly, seemingly unable to hold back any longer.

“…Alright.”

Marianne, however, didn’t so much as turn her head, gesturing for him to be patient.

The next mont, one of the fleshy tendrils actually stretched out, coiling around the tallic panel of the small window.

With a heavy scraping sound, the panel was forcibly opened.

Ben was right; it was only early dusk, the night sky wasn’t even deep yet.

But that was enough.

Fu Qian didn’t hesitate, looking through the small window at the faint stars, quickly confirming it wasn’t the starry sky he had seen in the past two days.

It completely fit the definition of a nightmare, a kind of nightmare that was exceptionally distinct.

Worth taking so ti to explore its value.

Fu Qian almost instantly confird his next move.

“Do you feel anything?”

Even the Awakener Marianne cooperated, offering herself up.

“Your taphor is interesting, sticking your head out to see the true world’s drowning man.”

Withdrawing his gaze, Fu Qian indicated that the window could be closed again, shalessly pilfering viewpoints from their earlier conversation.

“But sotis what’s more pathetic than ignorance is obsession, like a wayward lamb and a lamb on the wrong path; the forr may be numb, but the latter brings unnecessary pain.”

“You say we are obsessed—”

Marianne obviously disliked this assessnt.

“That world is real, you are indeed trapped in a nightmare.”

Fu Qian interrupted her, supporting the core idea with full agreent to put an end to aningless debates.

“But what you see is still far from the truth, for instance, the Stars.”

“What about the Stars?”

Although with a cold and disdainful face, Marianne couldn’t help asking.

“No ti to waste with him, Glenn will wake up soon.”

Unexpectedly, the two had really started chatting, and Ben on the side, uncomfortable, couldn’t help but remind them again.

“Then let him sleep a bit longer.”

Truly using the tendrils to reseal the small window, Marianne glanced at the adjacent cell while speaking, her tone firm.

Esther hadn’t spoken, but she had clearly been eavesdropping intently.

Moving without a word earlier would’ve been fine, but it was no longer a matter of impulse; her thoughts were obviously being influenced.

If it’s not clarified, the purpose of this trip could end up greatly compromised.

It couldn’t be said there was no regret, only that the topics this guy brought up were indeed easily thought-provoking.

“Very interesting powers, but your eyes will deceive you, even making you unaware of where the true gift cos from.”

Watching Marianne and Ben exchange, along with her slowly retracting tendrils, Fu Qian answered her question calmly, pointing two fingers at his eyes.

“This is utterly hollow, aningless rhetoric—”

Marianne’s comnt ca to an abrupt halt because the one behind the bars put down his hand.

The revealed pupils were rapidly turning crimson.

“You are…”

Marianne’s words only made it halfway again as the other party smiled broadly, revealing fangs still extending beneath the lip.

“Bloodline Clan, if you’ve seen enough reality, you wouldn’t have never heard of it.”

Fu Qian didn’t shy away from revealing it, avoiding the waste of ti.

He had indeed considered sprouting a pair of wings for more visual impact.

Ultimately choosing eyes and teeth mainly conserved energy significantly.

“I’ve indeed heard of it, but I never thought it truly existed…just like I couldn’t see that you’re not an ordinary person.”

Marianne and Ben, undoubtedly both startled by the transformation in front, entered a guarded confrontation state.

“That’s not your fault, even in that ‘real’ world, mortals don’t know of our existence, do they?”

Fu Qian was quite amiable.

“Very few can truly open their eyes, just like the Saints of The Sect who think the gift cos from the Stars and not the Dark Moon.”

Dark Moon?

This ti Marianne didn’t even have ti to ask before the scene changed again.

A beam of lucid moonlight instantly enveloped the face that was already sowhat sinister.

Lofty and cold, accompanied by a frost that montarily suspended thoughts.

But it lasted barely an instant, and the next mont everything contracted back into Grimshaw in the cage, who turned his head to look in another direction.

Unbeknownst, Esther, who had been listening all along, had co out wearing a dazed expression.

“But it’s alright, as an apostle of the Dark Moon, the eyes of the Bloodline Clan have opened, and we will uphold her will, everywhere.”

In response to this with a welcoming smile, Fu Qian’s voice was calm and firm.

He didn’t have the ti to watch the Awakeners take it slow; let the “nightmare” react more violently.
