Chapter 1386: Chapter 1384: Friend’s Tea
“Alright.”
Amidst the mass of flesh and blood, the legs that were ripped apart had neither skin nor a shape that could avoid being grotesque.
However, as the Witch scrutinized the gradually independent Seventh Apostle, she did not hide her gratification despite her regret.
“Recovery is faster than expected. You must understand that you were in terrible condition then, and I only managed to gather most of the fragnts.”
“Just skill, really, plenty of experience.”
Fu Qian casually remarked with modesty in response, cautiously adjusting his center of gravity and balance, not even wasting resources in a rush to regenerate the skin on his legs.
Along the way, although there wasn’t much difference in appearance, the chaotic state of his body finally showed slight improvent.
Simple shapeshifting flesh ant nothing to Fu Qian.
The price of recklessly overusing the drunken stupor mode, coupled with previous damages, was the collapse of his essential self.
When his consciousness first returned, it was almost as if his DNA had been trampled.
Though the Witch made it sound easy, the effort she expended was no small feat.
He might have looked like a shapeshifting insect that failed, but now that he adjusted, he realized that aside from the left arm he’d swallowed and an eyeball tossed away as a coordinate marker, his essential self had remained largely intact.
Of course, the greatest asset of this journey, the Eye Within the Eye, was already exhausted, leaving not a trace behind.
“I can tell.”
Recognizing Fu Qian’s modesty, the Witch was quite supportive, acknowledging him without haste and standing there patiently guarding him.
And Fu Qian didn’t seem to care about appearances either—after a brief adjustnt to ensure stability in his walk, he signaled the Witch to continue.
Of course, he demonstrated his abundant experience by casually putting leg armor over his legs, even though the skin hadn’t grown back yet.
…
“Indeed, it’s livelier than before.”
Walking side by side without a destination, the Witch appeared more relaxed, responding to Fu Qian’s assessnt of “this place isn’t bad.”
Despite both being non-human, she was far more elegant.
Fu Qian was well aware that her injuries were far more severe than his own.
Before coming to protect him, the Witch had already been involved in a month-long conflagration on the other side.
The fact that she managed to conveniently preserve the liveliness before him in such a situation was truly a breathtaking display of power.
“You didn’t retain the nightmares as well, did you? The intensity might beco exaggerated later if so.”
At the sa ti, Fu Qian thought of another point.
“More accurately, I didn’t specifically remove them.”
The Witch straightforwardly acknowledged Fu Qian’s speculation while correcting a detail.
“At that ti, my state was insufficient to support doing too many things. The reason I was able to preserve this place was partly due to the law and its corresponding relationship.”
“Additionally, I happened to leave behind a painting. Although at the ti, my initial intention was rely to sustain the existence of the outside world a little longer.”
“In short, all I did then was to reinforce the painting and guide the establishnt of the corresponding relationship.”
“I see. It looks like the revival of my Dark Moon Sect is imminent.”
As the situation beca clearer, Fu Qian nodded slightly while instantly thinking about the grand plan for developnt.
Under the Witch’s control, even soone with minimal thinking capacity could understand that those nightmares couldn’t stir up anything significant; they would simply beco the wild mobs consolidating the reputation of this newly born faith.
Although he himself didn’t even have heels at the mont.
Realizing this, Fu Qian made a quick adjustnt, increasing his humanoid attributes by 0.1%.
…
“It’s a pity so much has happened these days, leaving sowhat physically and ntally exhausted.”
The Witch seed uninterested in the talk of revival, instead gesturing to their surroundings.
It was easy to see that the area they walked in ought to be a bustling comrcial district, but at that mont, every shop building was closed and dark, devoid of life.
True enough, enduring our tornt wasn’t a one-ti affair, let alone facing the monuntal doom projection of Armageddon.
The impact on comrce wasn’t sothing easily annulled.
Reflecting on his actions of the past few days, Fu Qian found himself wholeheartedly agreeing with the Witch, but…
The next mont he suddenly stopped, scrutinizing a particular direction.
“What’s wrong?”
Following his gaze, there stood an unassuming street-side shop, with the Witch evidently certain there was nothing special inside.
“One of the most direct benefits of having many people is the variety of mortal delicacies available. Want to have a drink?”
Fu Qian didn’t seem to be on alert, even squeezing a smile from his constantly adjusting face.
“Of course, but isn’t that a bookstore?”
While the Witch naturally agreed, she was slightly puzzled by Fu Qian’s proposal.
“I just have a feeling that such a shop should have so decent drinks.”
Fu Qian had already made his way forward.
The unremarkable small shop appeared to have been closed for a long ti, the lock on the door even slightly rusty.
However, Fu Qian didn’t rudely break in; he didn’t even use master-level unlocking skills, just took a look around nearby.
By the ti the Witch caught up, he had found a key hidden near the window.
Without saying much, the Witch silently watched the scene until Fu Qian genuinely entered the shop, effortlessly finding a well-packaged red tea amid the musty sll of books, and starting to busy himself single-handedly.
…
“Sorry for the wait.”
The Temple Knight’s brewing skills seed surprisingly adept.
It didn’t take long before an elegantly fashioned ceramic cup was pushed in front of them.
“It tastes good. How did you know there would be a key hidden nearby?”
Observing Fu Qian, who in such a short ti had already assud a human form, the Witch couldn’t contain her curiosity.
“Because it was a gift from a friend nad Rosetta.”
As Fu Qian answered, he fiddled with a card in his hand.
It was placed alongside the tea earlier.
“Due to special reasons, she was forced to traverse through incredible ti and space.”
“In her monts of suffering, she enjoyed gambling to win a small shop wherever she went, leaving a gift for friends inside and hiding the key.”
“I wasn’t entirely sure earlier, just thought if I were her, this small shop would be particularly fitting, and it did seem closed for a long ti, sowhat unusual compared to the surroundings…”
“Though the na written isn’t exactly right, I don’t think she would mind.”
As he spoke, Fu Qian unfolded the card and placed it there, displaying simple handwriting—
[Dear Bernard,
This is indeed a beautiful place, for dreaming only takes but a minute, making discernnt easier than ever before.
Sweet dreams and may reality follow your dreams]
…
“It tastes very good.”
After reading the card contents, the Witch savored Rosetta’s tea for a while before earnestly giving her verdict.
Along with the ceramic cup returned to the table were various items, large and small, she had temporarily kept monts ago.
After laying them all out, her tone changed slightly.
“Is it about ti?”
“Just about.”
“Then you should return.”
