Chapter 1441: Chapter 1439 Artificial Existence Core (9)
Admitting it already?
Clearly, Novell was shocked once again by Fu Qian’s level of cooperation during his entrusted search.
Compared to those swindlers full of nonsense, Grimshaw truly seed a bit different.
“Search everywhere.”
Unlike the young police officer, his senior’s reaction was obviously less intense, reminding softly in a slightly drowsy tone.
“Alright.”
Though he sounded sowhat lacking in energy, Novell showed great respect towards this elder and imdiately began to busy himself searching around.
“You can call Tommy.”
After arranging his partner, the elder cop turned back to Fu Qian, even introducing himself first.
“So please, continue, Mr. Grimshaw.”
“Why did you deceive that client, and how did you do it?”
“First of all, Claire didn’t have any bugs on her; it was just an illusion I created.”
Fu Qian’s level of cooperation seed almost campaign-worthy for reduced sentencing, revealing his left hand as he spoke.
“The goal was to make her believe she was entangled with filth to cooperate with my treatnt.”
“If she had no problem, then why cooperate with the treatnt?”
Though looking towards Fu Qian, Tommy’s expression seed as if his spirit was wandering elsewhere, making one doubt how much he truly understood.
But Fu Qian never doubted; Brother Tommy before him might only seem like an ordinary person, even physically weakened by age, but was undoubtedly one of the most difficult law enforcers to deal with.
The questions he posed revealed just a bit.
This seemingly stupid question had very clear implications – Tommy didn’t believe at all that money was his true motivation.
He wanted to know why Fu Qian would go to such lengths, convincing Claire to take that bottle back.
“It’s simple, Claire’s husband wasn’t as lucky as her, and it’s not Mrs. Wesley who needs treatnt but Mr. Wesley.”
“Do you know him?”
Though it seed like a self-justification, a hint of gleam appeared in Tommy’s eyes.
“No.”
…
“Never t him, just a few words from his family and you knew sothing was wrong?”
Though Novell had reached the restroom, it was obvious he’d been listening firmly all along and couldn’t hold back interjecting.
What he asked clearly hit a key point, causing his partner Tommy not to mind his intrusions, simply looking at Fu Qian hoping for an explanation.
“Yes, because professionally, I can communicate with a higher-dinsional perspective.”
Pointing upwards, Fu Qian acted full of confidence.
“What Mr. Wesley did, the lady who reported probably didn’t ntion much to you?”
In this aspect, Fu Qian was quite certain. From Claire’s reluctance to reveal her husband’s na, it was clear they were likely prominent figures.
Building up the atmosphere, dispelling doubts, guiding the conversation until revealing secrets; most likely, even if she reported him, it wouldn’t be much revealed to the officers – though he definitely wouldn’t help keep it confidential.
Such is human nature.
“She just ntioned her husband’s recent strange behavior.”
The introduction of the task wasn’t wrong; given the overly dense swindler aura of Los, not just the Night Watchman, but even local police had beco sowhat desensitized to such matters.
The higher-dinsional perspective comnt didn’t stir any ripples of emotion from the two officers, Novell checking the toilet tank with so disdain on his face.
Still, the elder was more polite, facing Fu Qian’s cooperative stance, Tommy first revealed a bit of information in reverse.
“She was very worried, hence sought help and then encountered you.”
“That statent is indeed unobjectionable, although so details might seem a bit exaggerated.”
Fu Qian nodded while listening, casually describing Mr. Lek’s midnight devouring behavior.
…
Clearly, even in this city of swindlers, Mr. Lek’s deeds were a bit peculiar.
At once, not only Novell listened intently, but even Tommy across him wrinkled his already aging face further.
“The informant indeed didn’t ntion this… So this was your diagnosis rationale?”
With a slight thought, Tommy subtly nodded.
“I’ve always found your type’s logic hard to grasp… But there’s a simple question, why resort to such ans instead of just saying it directly?”
“Even using such ans, Claire didn’t have enough confidence to ensure she’d take that bottle to her husband, but gave it to you instead.”
Smiling slightly, Fu Qian sighed with an air of universality.
“If given directly to her, how likely do you think she’d take it?”
“How do you know she gave it to us?”
As Tommy pondered, Novell had already returned empty-handed.
“I just figured she wouldn’t have the courage to keep it with her.”
Politely inviting him to sit, Fu Qian noted it was re speculation on his part.
“Perhaps even now soone amongst you is studying that bottle; honestly, though difficult to convince you, that drink doesn’t matter at all.”
“Just like holy water purifying evil.”
Tommy chid in tily, indicating full understanding of Fu Qian.
“Anything else?”
“Certainly… Treating one more person doubles the reward.”
Fu Qian pointed at the card in his hand.
“Whatever the case, as a comrcial act, striving for greater compensation is its respect.”
“I must admit, if your peers were as frank as you, our work would be much easier.”
Tommy glanced at his empty-handed partner.
“An extra minor question, if Mr. Wesley didn’t receive your treatnt, what would happen?”
“Hard to say, perhaps he’d die.”
Without exaggerating the consequences, Fu Qian provided a candid evaluation.
“Then drinking your potion would save his life? This claim starts to sound like your peers.”
“It’s not that easy.”
Fu Qian waved his hand, dismissing Tommy’s exaggerated praise.
“There’s still a chance he might die, just helps die cleanly.”
…
Clearly, even seasoned like Tommy, was moved by the candidness of this answer, unsure how to comnt.
However, being seasoned himself, he quickly opted to avoid comntary, signaling Fu Qian’s seat.
“Mind letting Novell check it?”
“Certainly not.”
Fu Qian readily stood up, handing over the spot to the young man.
The outco was obvious, even with Novell’s ticulous checks, seemingly licking it clean, the concealed compartnt wasn’t there.
“That’s it.”
Quickly realizing this, Tommy halted his partner while looking at Fu Qian again.
“So how did you do it? What Claire saw as an illusion.”
“That’s simple enough.”
Fu Qian chuckled, a black-red vortex appeared briefly in his palm.
“It wasn’t an illusion, but transcendent power.”
