Surely did not disappoint.
The suspected Night Watchman was a middle-aged woman with a stern face.
And after leaving the scene, her behavior was sowhat unusual.
Specifically, she neither used her power to find relevant people, nor hurried back to report, but rather acted like Mr. Sanhao Sr. earlier.
Being cautious all the way, showing strange behavior, after crossing several streets, she finally arrived at a inconspicuous building and entered through the side door.
Fu Qian, who followed behind, easily confird that this was just an ordinary residence, sowhat aged, but not even remotely luxurious.
The difference in treatnt was thus evident; unlike Mr. Sanhao Sr. who was rejected thrice, the stern-faced woman was imdiately warmly received and guided to a room.
Within this hidden-in-plain-sight location, soone was already waiting, even a familiar-looking person—one of the three who ran out when the club was struck by lightning.
He was relatively older, the thick eight-character moustache on his upper lip was beginning to whiten.
Moreover, this wasn’t the most prominent feature—he was even one of the two Transcendents.
It must be said that this was very interesting, a mysterious club involving Transcendents; it’s unsurprising for the Night Watchman to show concern, even developing an informant wouldn’t be strange.
Yet this informant being a Transcendent is sowhat counterintuitive.
After all, betraying one’s own class attributes is always difficult.
So, it must be the Night Watchman after all; now, they’ve brought to see Mr. Sanhao Sr. and they’ve shown even more intriguing things?
Taking in all of this, Fu Qian clicked his tongue in appreciation and without fuss, found a room to sit in, listening to the commotion next door.
...
"So, what exactly happened?"
Indeed, it was the Night Watchman’s communication style; almost as soon as she entered, the stern-faced woman went straight to the point, unabashedly.
"So far it’s still uncertain... the lightning was strange; at least from my perspective, it’s almost impossible to be a simple weather phenonon, just unable to capture more traces."
The one questioned, however, sounded accustod, calmly confirming.
"However, there was one special thing: the mont the lightning struck, a visitor just happened to arrive..."
And even frank enough, directly revealing Mr. Sanhao Sr.
"Oh? Not by accident, was he seeking out?"
Indeed, the stern-faced woman suddenly beca interested.
"Yes... it’s very evident he secretly looked through Gregor’s manuscripts and ca here based on what was docunted within; he even exchanged signals with us just now."
The response from Mr. Eight-Character Moustache was even more astonishing.
So, did Mr. Sanhao Sr. find the address of this private club from those books, even including the contact signals?
And the clues in that library, not only does this club know but even the Night Watchman knows?
...
Indeed intriguing.
The relationship between this club and the local Night Watchn is undoubtedly quite subtle.
In just a few short sentences, Fu Qian expressed imnse benefit, deeply feeling the correctness of his earlier helpful choice.
"Not surprising, for so people, what Gregor writes still holds great allure—do you think there is a connection between him and the lightning?"
The stern-faced woman just snorted, disdainful yet seemingly uninterested in pursuing any theoretical violation, more concerned with the prior commotion.
"The person claid to be nad Sanhao, eager but cautious, not revealing much about his affairs... honestly, I don’t think he has the ability to cause such a commotion, but it was just too coincidental, almost happening simultaneously."
Mr. Eight-Character Moustache continued exposing the old man’s background unabashedly.
And his cautious rating seed well-deserved, using even doubly encrypted nas with them.
"Indeed, although I dislike such troubles, not considering them together would make one seem complacent... do you think there might be any connection?"
The stern-faced woman agreed with his opinion, contemplative for a mont.
"That’s the primary reason for hastening to et you; the esteed Mr. Sanhao provided a particular piece of information—after first being refused entry to the club, he intended to leave first, only to receive soone’s guidance, prompting him to try again."
Just from the voice, one could sense Mr. Eight-Character Moustache’s deep confusion.
"Ah? And then the lightning appeared?"
"Yes, and then the lightning appeared."
...
"Such a thing..."
Clearly, this last part was sowhat unexpected for the visitor.
Confirming there was indeed such a twist, the stern-faced woman’s voice gradually lowered.
It’s apparent that one or two unauthorized tourists are of little concern for the Night Watchman, even regular occurrences.
And although the lightning strike was terrifying, given the Supernatural World, a bit of inexplicable phenona is not strange—now, the issue is that this commotion has an explanation, even reeking of conspiracy.
Are mysterious figures behind the scenes orchestrating? That makes it grave.
"Did the one nad Sanhao ntion who it was? It sounds like their exchange spot was close to your location, but I didn’t spot anything remarkable upon arrival."
The stern-faced woman reacted sharply, quickly recapping the preceding events.
"I’m the sa."
Mr. Eight-Character Moustache quietly sighed.
"Although these details were divulged in the car later, upon exiting, I imdiately checked the surroundings, at least finding no Transcendent.
"According to Sanhao, the person was not very old, dressed as a local, appearance quite ordinary, drank at the street corner throughout... the vendors around might have an impression because he was bald."
And indeed, the old man ended up describing the guide ticulously.
"Then most notably, the person refused to disclose his na, simply claiming to be ’Ancient King’."
"Ancient King... isn’t that exactly what your club is interested in?"
The final bit of information clearly shocked the stern-faced woman, then her tone turned strange.
Oh? This effect is better than expected.
And at the sa ti, Fu Qian next door once again deeply realized what was ant by "Heavenly Dao rewards diligence."
Claiming to be Wang, naturally not out of any bad taste, rather inspired by team leader Ah Lian, deciding to borrow Anke Wenlan’s setting, creating a scenario of the return of the old king.
Walking with such an odd identity, whether others believe it is one thing, it undoubtedly greatly shifts matters towards being "inviolable."
Don’t forget, during the mission period, I can hardly be genuinely here to study local customs.
The current pleasant surprise is that the club chosen as the entry point even aligns sowhat with the mission.
