Chapter 401: Chapter 401: Raising an Army to Exact Justice_1

The moonlight soon faded, and the fierce sun reappeared in the mid-air, as the rusty haze lted away like ice and snow.

Just as the witch had said, her voice also never sounded again, and that miraculous connection seed to be severed.

Overall, it seed to be a good thing.

Fu Qian fiddled with the mask in his hand.

Although he had chosen Blasphemy’s Embrace as the reward initially simply because he did not want to choose the other one,

it turned out that his choice was wise, and even after so long, there were still follow-up rewards.

And from what the witch said, this was her way of saying thank you for what he had done before.

It seed that special world must be maintaining quite well for now.

Recalling the feeling just now, Fu Qian put the mask back on his face.

Almost imdiately, he felt an invisible glow envelop his entire body, forming a mysterious barrier.

And under the veil of the barrier, his own Transcendent aura was completely concealed.

This is amazing!

Fu Qian imdiately understood the new mask’s effect—a barrier to hide Transcendent powers.

The Emissary’s Mask he was currently wearing on his face also had a certain effect in concealing his aura, but its efficacy was quite limited; for instance, Yuan Shan could easily see that he had ascended to a demigod.

The new mask was clearly a strengthened version, and from what he could tell at the mont, its concealnt effect was excellent.

Fu Qian believed that even if he were to stand before Yuan Shan now without her recognizing him, she probably would not be able to tell that he was a Transcendent.

Although there were contradictions, such as the act of wearing such a mask being far from inconspicuous, Fu Qian was nevertheless quite satisfied with this reward.

The Pontiff really did know his understated style; his work as the Knight of the Dark Moon was not in vain.

As he was reflecting, Fu Qian sensed a familiar aura in his consciousness.

So soon?

He put away the mask in his hand and stood up, walking straight downstairs.

It wasn’t long before Yuan Shan’s aggrieved face appeared outside the door.

“Big brother, can we keep it low-key just for once?”

As soon as Fu Qian opened the door, Chief Yuan of the Night Watchman began to sigh heavily.

“I only let you take a look, and you caused such a commotion. Now the whole of Shangjing is contacting us, asking what the deal was with the sky just now.”

“In addition, soone impersonated an intruder at the city hall, Gan Zuoxun’s security has been threatened, you’re not going to tell these have nothing to do with you, are you?”

“How could it be? I’m an honest person; it indeed has to do with , but there are reasons behind it,” Fu Qian answered.

Looking at Yuan Shan, who seed as unfortunate as the woman of the countryside, Fu Qian readily admitted to the cri.

He quickly recounted his encounter in the hospital.

“Out of a sense of duty entrusted by others, I followed and took a look over there, in the absence of the person in question.”

“Given what you’ve said, it does seem to be sowhat suspicious,” Yuan Shan seriously replied, her brows furrowed.

“Are you sure Gan Zuoxun had no issues afterward?”

Issues?

Fu Qian silently recalled what he had observed earlier.

In fact, he had been thinking about this problem since earlier.

There’s always a motive behind everything.

Right after sealing the sun with an arrow, he first observed Gan Zuoxun’s reaction.

And the result was that compared with others, Fu Qian did not think he showed any particular reaction.

Therefore, in his view, the likelihood of Gan Zuoxun having issues was minuscule.

But under the current circumstances, the man’s previous words were quite thought-provoking.

Was he lying?

Why would he lie?

Speculating boldly, if he himself had no issues, what motive would he have for deliberately saying so?

Looking at the frowning Yuan Shan in front of him and considering the reactions she had just ntioned, Fu Qian seed to co to an answer—was this man actually fishing for information?

Yuan Shan had ntioned before that Gan Zuoxun’s position was very sensitive, and it was not at all impossible that so organizations unhappy with him were making moves behind the scenes.

This brother purposely put on a bit of an act, could it be a performance for those with ulterior motives to see?

After all, as an organization that found him displeasing, if there were signs that he was under ntal influence, even if they hadn’t caused it, they would certainly enjoy spreading the word.

He really dares to dance on the edge of a knife!

Moreover, to remain calm and collected, spouting nonsense while within the Clear Dream Ring, he could be considered talented.

And if that really was the case, it wouldn’t hurt to just watch quietly from the sidelines and enjoy the show.

“After an initial observation, apart from a bit of a prostate problem, I haven’t found anything else abnormal,”

Fu Qian finished recalling and finally answered.

“Of course, we had a rather strange conversation,”

He repeated Gan Zuoxun’s account of the conversation.

After hearing it, Yuan Shan’s expression was quite sothing to behold.

It was clear that although she had so reservations about the thod, she still tended to trust Fu Qian’s judgnt.

But at the sa ti, Gan Zuoxun’s own words could not be taken lightly.

She had to consider the possibility that there might indeed be a problem with him.

Fu Qian wasn’t surprised by her reaction.

After all, their stances were different.

In this matter, he could be considered an outsider and thus could make such objective judgnts.

But Yuan Shan’s identity made it impossible for her to disregard the potential consequences of the “what if”.

“We should always think positively, although it’s a lively ss, at least there’s no exposed intention, is there?”

At this point, Fu Qian consoled her.

“That’s true, if it were too obvious, Gan Zuoxun would only be abandoned,”

“I should get going, thank you for your effort,”

Yuan Shan got up to take her leave.

“I’ve already arranged soone to check that place you’re interested in. Even though there’s no feedback yet, I’ll keep an eye on it,”

“Thank you,”

Fu Qian had no objections to Yuan Shan delegating tasks.

He never expected her to search personally.

With so many professionals in the Night Watchman, it would be a pity not to make use of them.

“Chief Yuan,”

As she stepped out, a car happened to stop by the roadside.

Wen Li, in a white long dress, got out and seed sowhat surprised to see Yuan Shan, but greeted her very politely all the sa.

Yuan Shan clearly wasn’t in the mood for conversation, exchanging pleasantries briefly before hurrying away.

Wen Li stood by the roadside, watching Chief Yuan until she was out of sight, before pushing the door to enter.

In the instant she saw Fu Qian, she stuck out her tongue.

“I hope my coming here hasn’t caused any trouble?”

“Chief Yuan was indeed a bit troubled, but it has nothing to do with you,”

Fu Qian gestured for Wen Li to sit down at ease.

Having not seen her for a while, she seed even more impressive than before, apparently making smooth progress.

“Is it related to the previous matter?”

Wen Li pointed to the sky, cautiously asking.

“Yes,”

Fu Qian confird her guess.

“Did you see it?”

“It was so dramatic, half of Shangjing must have seen it,”

Wen Li replied with a wry smile.

“But my visit this ti is because of sothing else,”
