Because that’s what the Church says, and that’s what the King says as well.

But at this mont, the King’s words seem not to be the truth.

"Look at these docunts." The King trembled as he pulled out a stack of papers from his body. "The plague actually began the day the Divine Oracle appeared—it has already spread rapidly to every person in Violet, including you and , and even the other countries. Nothing happens in the first three days, but on the third day, you start to feel weak, to tremble, then to cough blood and fall into a coma. On the fifth day, death..."

Aivlette stared blankly at her father’s trembling hand, and the docunts clutched tightly in that hand.

She had already guessed the truth.

"That’s right, it’s already begun for ." The King let out a self-mocking laugh, suddenly raising the papers high and casting them forward, heavily. "This—is Divine Punishnt!"

A flurry of docunts spun in the air. Even while being suppressed, the ministers fixed their gaze tightly on those sheets of paper.

There were many images on them—vast stretches of dead bodies.

Corpses piled up like mountains!

"No!" So people shut their eyes in agony, the feeling of weakness seemingly welling up inside, unable to distinguish if their trembling was out of terror or because of the plague.

Just imagining that this dreadful disease already lurks within their bodies, and soon, in endless tornt, they will march toward death—the despair is truly inexpressible.

By contrast, mutiny and military coups suddenly seem irrelevant.

The whole nation, even the whole world—everyone will die.

Power, wealth—all those things cherished as life before, now seem so insignificant.

Even the well-trained Forbidden Army were seized by fear, one by one.

They could charge at any enemy, but with an invisible disease, the despair was just as profound.

The King was right—this is Divine Punishnt.

And those mages, being the only ones present still able to move, picked up the docunts, all turning pale with terror.

The old mage who had previously wanted Wizard Shen Yu to research the Magic Guide for him now imdiately cast a detection spell on himself.

"It’s really the plague!" He activated spell after spell, but his face grew worse each ti.

Whether spells to heal the plague, or any other magic to control disease, none of them worked at all!

It was clear—an extrely powerful Magic Power clung to this illness.

As if it were a curse.

And the disease itself was already deeply rooted, ready to erupt at any mont, and at that point, there would be nothing but an irreversible march toward death.

Divine Punishnt—only Divine Punishnt can explain this!

The mages’ actions cast even greater despair over the hall, and everyone collapsed to the ground as if dead.

In this mont, whether mage, noble, demon warrior, even king—they were all the sa.

Just like every ordinary person and every commoner outside.

Perhaps even more miserable.

For they were even less willing to die, even more afraid of death, and they already knew the end in advance!

"My daughter." The King looked at Aivlette, a sneer twisting his lips, "Do you see, in the face of Divine Punishnt like this, do you still want the throne?"

"..." Aivlette remained silent. She glanced up at Wizard Shen Yu, then declared firmly, "I want it!"

"?" The King’s expression froze—a look of utter amazent.

The weeping, silent, utterly despairing ministers and guards raised their heads one by one.

They stared at this Princess in utter disbelief.

In such circumstances, what aning can the throne possibly have?

But Aivlette’s voice only grew louder.

"I said it before, Father—you lack the courage to face Divine Punishnt, but I have it!" She did what no one expected, directly pulling the King and pushing him onto the Left Minister, then sitting herself upon the throne. She regarded everyone present with a grave voice, "From now on, I am the new ruler of Violet!"

Her resolute voice echoed again and again throughout the grand hall.

"Madness, you really are mad!" The old King couldn’t comprehend the scene, his hand shaking as he pointed at Aivlette, shouting, "It’s yours—the throne is yours! You too have received Divine Punishnt; at most, you have two days! No, just one day of clarity—so be it, one day as queen!"

With that, the old King seed to lose all strength and collapsed entirely.

Even with all the Left Minister’s effort, he couldn’t support him.

But Aivlette seed to ignore the old King completely. She looked at everyone and pressed on, "I’m not unaware of how terrifying Divine Punishnt is, but—even a god cannot so easily destroy us. And the most important thing—"

She reached out her hand to Wizard Shen Yu: "We still have hope!"

Indeed, although Aivlette had the courage to struggle to the end, in this mont, the one truly giving her courage was just one person.

That person was Wizard Shen Yu!

The gods are not invincible; Divine Punishnt, too, is not unstoppable!

Wizard Shen Yu strode forward step by step, grasped Aivlette’s hand, and stood beside the throne.

"Dean Mage." Wizard Shen Yu turned to the old mage. "Collect a pathogen sample for ."

"Okay." Dean Mage was stunned, carrying out the request as he asked, "Do you really have confidence?"

There was disbelief even in his tone.

With just the preliminary tests, he already sensed the plague’s horrifying power.

The key thing is, there’s too little ti.

Based on what they’d just learned, they had only a day or two left.

With such little ti, even if the whole Magic Empire pooled its strength, a result was hardly guaranteed.

"I do have confidence." Wizard Shen Yu answered without the slightest hesitation.

Even the ministers and guards were stunned.

Though few really believed his words, seeing Wizard Shen Yu’s calm face, their hearts could not help but feel a faint, uncontrollable hope.

But—is this possible?

This is Divine Punishnt!

A god’s wrath—how can mortals possibly resist?

Dean Mage didn’t quite believe either, but glancing at the sowhat mysterious Magic Guide, he spoke anyway: "Let’s help, Ao Yu Mage."

Mages, perhaps, are the group in this Plane with the least reverence for gods.

The process of studying magic is a quest for the truth of the world itself. Mages who fear the gods too greatly rarely accomplish much.

Even so, Wizard Shen Yu shook his head, turned to Aivlette and gently tucked a strand of hair behind her ear.

"Wait for my return."

"Mm!" Aivlette gazed at him in a daze, then suddenly smiled brilliantly. "I will sit on the throne and wait for you, together with our whole nation."

Wizard Shen Yu returned the smile, stepped back a few paces, and vanished into the Gray Mist.

"Space Magic!"

Just this move caused a ripple among the mages present.

"No incantation for Space Magic?"

"Ao Yu Mage is truly powerful!"

"I’ve always said he was different—what ordinary mage could possibly win the Princess?"

"She is Her Majesty the Queen now."

"We shouldn’t just sit and wait. Does Her Majesty have any orders?"

"..."

One voice after another seed to lighten the heavy despair in the hall.

Even the collapsed King had to admit.

Wizard Shen Yu left them with sothing different.

—Hope!

On the other hand, when Wizard Shen Yu returned to the Gray Mist Space with the pathogen, he could no longer maintain his previous calm and elegance—he shouted out loud: "I’ve got the stuff. Where is everyone?"

"I’m here." The figure of interstellar world Shen Yu appeared before him.

"Ti is tight, brother." Wizard Shen Yu handed over the pathogen to interstellar world Shen Yu, looking eagerly at him. "We’re talking tens of millions, maybe even hundreds of millions of lives here. You have to hurry!"

"That many are infected already?" interstellar world Shen Yu was shocked as well, but then nodded deeply. "Don’t worry. Haven’t you already checked with the Gray Mist? It’ll be fine—it’s just a germ, nothing to worry about."
