There was fear in his eyes, too.

This is Divine Punishnt.

The terrifying Divine Punishnt, utterly impossible to resist; all those years of arduous cultivation, the experience gained from countless battles—against such power, it’s all just so fragile.

However—!

It isn’t true that no one can resist.

All eyes couldn’t help but turn to the new monarch seated upon the throne.

Indeed, in the entire kingdom, even as everyone else was suffering under Divine Punishnt, only one person seed unaffected.

She was still wearing that suit of armor, still gripping her longsword, sitting upright on the throne, perfectly motionless.

No sign of fatigue, no cough, no hint of discomfort.

The old King, after delivering his abdication, had been sitting at the side, coughing violently, and staring at his apparently unaffected daughter with disbelief.

Why is she unhard?

How could anyone be untouched under Divine Punishnt?

For those who completely believed Divine Punishnt was unstoppable, Aivlette’s state at this mont was the greatest irony.

Even Aivlette herself hadn’t expected this.

But she knew the reason.

Ao Yu.

Only her fiancé could pull off such a miracle.

It made Aivlette’s faith in Wizard Shen Yu ascend to an unprecedented height.

He said that gods are not invincible—then there must be hope for defeating the Divine Spirit!

"Dean Mage." Aivlette looked at Dean Mage, who was also coughing but faring a bit better, and spoke out, "Can you cast Mirror Image Magic again, broadcast my image to the entire kingdom—even just my voice would do."

"Your command, Your Majesty." Dean Mage stifled his discomfort, saluting Aivlette.

He shaped magic power again, and the next mont, a floating mirror appeared in front of Aivlette.

Her image and her voice were sent out to every place in the kingdom furnished with Magic Mirror Images.

There were plenty of those mirrors even on the streets of the royal capital.

The King’s abdication had just been announced, but anxiety and panic quickly drowned it out, and few paid much attention.

But at this mont, the instant Aivlette began to speak, she drew masses of eyes!

Because, amid the weak coughing up and down the streets, Aivlette’s voice was incomparably strong.

"Citizens of Violet, I am your new Queen, Aivlette!"

More and more people turned their eyes to the mirror image, realizing that the new monarch was clad in armor, sword in hand, seated on the throne, slender but perfectly upright—showing not the slightest sign of weakness.

"At this mont, we are all mired in suffering. We don’t know what we did wrong, or why the gods want to destroy us. They gave no explanation, no chance for reprieve. They simply decided our fate, just like that."

Fear flickered on so faces in the crowd.

Even though, for many, she was voicing what was in their hearts.

But their long-standing awe of the Divine Spirit made them instinctively afraid to hear such words.

Yet right now, even if anyone wanted to protest, they were in no condition to do so.

Their bodies were growing ever more weakened; many on the streets collapsed altogether onto the ground, looking on in confusion and envy at their new Queen—the ruler seemingly untouched by Divine Punishnt!

"But my people, I cannot bear for us to die so lost, so confused." Aivlette’s tone was utterly firm. She clenched her fist, then hamred it down in front of the mirror image.

Everyone heard the dull roar of her punch splitting the air, felt the force it contained.

Then, before all her people, she spoke the words destined for the annals of history.

"Even if the gods decree our death, we will fight back with all our strength, we will struggle!"

In ages past, such words would have been unimaginable.

If a god wanted soone dead—not even a noble, a powerful mage, or even a king could refuse; no trial, no qualification to object or resist.

But today, there was a monarch proclaiming: in the face of a divine verdict, she would fight, she would resist!

People gaped, too shocked to react, as Aivlette went on: "Moreover, Divine Punishnt is not invincible. I am living proof—and the court mages have already found a way to fight it!"

"—!"

Even those too weak to do more than cough raised their heads all at once.

A way to fight Divine Punishnt?

There were mothers, clutching their children in despair, who sohow found the strength to sit up straight, struggling to gaze upon Aivlette’s mirror image, looking at the new Queen with desperate hope and longing in their eyes.

The crowd exploded into noise.

"Is this true?"

"Can we really fight Divine Punishnt?"

"Help us—cough—help us, Your Majesty!"

"I don’t want to die."

"Cough, cough, save my child! If you can just save my child!"

"..."

No matter how deeply they feared the Divine Spirit, in this instant, the instinct to survive overwheld countless people.

One by one, they seed to ignite with new hope.

So even began struggling toward the palace.

Even if not for their own sake, just looking at their children, their families, everything they cherished—at this mont, their thirst for hope and for survival exploded.

"You heard correctly." As if predicting her people’s reaction, Aivlette repeated herself, "The mages have already found a way to fight Divine Punishnt. They are now working hard on a solution to cure the plague on a large scale. My people, endure just a little longer! As Queen of Violets, I vow to you—redemption will co! Even the gods cannot destroy us all! I will stand by your side, always!"

Aivlette did believe Wizard Shen Yu would surely bring redemption.

But, she didn’t know when it would happen.

All she could do now was stand with her people, providing hope and encouragent, urging them to hang on as long as possible.

Yet, faced with all this cruelty, feeling the pain of countless souls, her hatred for the gods, her resolve to defeat them, flared more fiercely by the minute.

Hours crept by, spent in endless agony for the thousands suffering.

And Wizard Shen Yu finally received a reply from interstellar world Shen Yu.

"This pathogen is indeed unusual." Intersellar world Shen Yu, knowing ti was tight, explained simply, "The pathogen itself is quite ordinary—just a basic respiratory virus. But, so kind of strange power has given it a total upgrade: infectivity, causing ability, latency, and more. I suspect so other features as well, likely ant to counteract magic-based redies. Fortunately, despite all the changes, its biological structure hasn’t altered. We have already developed an extrely targeted, highly effective drug to destroy it."

In other words, it’s like soone used Extraordinary Power to augnt a person in every possible way.

They beco like a mini Superman.

But, as long as the person’s biological structure remains, a dagger to the heart still kills them.

What the Interstellar Civilization did was disregard the extraordinary aspect, focus the blade on the weaknesses in the biological structure, and eliminate the virus at the physical level.

"Good!" Wizard Shen Yu, though he’d already predicted this with the Gray Mist, was still thrilled to hear the result.

"We’ve finished producing the drug, too. For fast application, we’re using a nebulizer device." Intersellar world Shen Yu handed the prepared dicine to Wizard Shen Yu. "You just spray it directly onto people. For dense urban areas, you can release it from the city center. No need to worry about overdosing."

"Thanks."

Wizard Shen Yu took the dicine and promptly vanished!
