"We cannot stand by and do nothing; we ought to act." The Thunder God spoke again, "The people from the All Heavens Divine Court said that day they would not intervene in the trial. Do they truly believe that a re mortal could stop us!"
The Thunder God scanned the surroundings, and all the divine spirits present were growing increasingly furious.
Between mortals and gods lies divine retribution!
Except for a handful of divine spirits, none had ever truly cared about so-called mortals.
Just a re mortal, wishing to stop them, and even calling it a so-called trial.
In the eyes of the gods, the humiliation this brought was far greater than even the Fall of the Curse God.
If power is unmatched, then unleash it without restraint.
If even one divine spirit had descended, the gods would not have been so enraged.
The Thunder God now finally spoke out his purpose, having deliberated with many Main Gods.
"Since they say not to interfere, we have no need to care about a re mortal—let us send a god to the Lower Realm directly, sparing no divine power, and deliver the most direct divine punishnt!"
In an instant, the entire hall fell completely silent.
Except for the eleven Main Gods who already knew, all the divine spirits, whether high, middle, or lower rank, kept silent.
To have a god intervene directly?
Easy to say.
But how great is the risk!
The Curse God’s death was not an ordinary fall; it was a total erasure of consciousness!
Even if, after hundreds or thousands of years, a new Curse God arises, it would never be the sa as before.
For the divine spirits, that is true death.
A fate none of them had ever truly imagined.
Otherwise, these eighteen days, they would not have simply watched Wizard Shen Yu prevent all the ongoing divine punishnts, sheltering every remaining mortal, without saying a word.
That day, the Fall of the Curse God brought a massive shock to them.
To put it plainly, for tens of thousands of years, these divine spirits had lived recklessly; any previous fallen god was only punished for inciting universal wrath, never facing the threat of true death.
This was the first ti in recorded history.
An instinctive dread of death surged forth more powerfully than ever.
The Thunder God took in the scene, and the surging thunder about him grew yet fiercer.
But then, one of the eleven Main Gods, the Sea God, suddenly spoke: "Why require the strength of a great god to destroy mortals? Let Necros go—perhaps this will and past failures."
At once, many gazes converged upon Necros, the God of Disease.
Necros felt a jolt in his heart, about to say sothing, but the other gods imdiately began to speak.
"So it should be."
"That plane was ant for Necros to destroy from the start."
"Let the so-called All Heavens Divine Court see that even the weakest Lower Gods are not sothing re mortals can resist."
"Necros’ world-ending ans were actually broken by mortals—what a disgrace to divine power."
"....."
Voice followed voice, gaze upon gaze, endless and pressing, flooding toward Necros in the corner.
Especially from those eleven gods, whose divine power grew ever stronger.
It forced the words Necros ought to have spoken to choke in his throat!
Suddenly, he understood.
Perhaps the Main Gods had long since made their decision.
This was ant to probe the All Heavens Divine Court’s reaction.
To see whether they truly would not intervene, truly leaving a re mortal to resist the gods.
Could he refuse?
Any of the gods present could easily bring about his fall!
Necros subconsciously looked towards a corner at the front of the hall.
But found the two Main Gods who would once have spoken for him were already slumbering, casualties of the previous divine war!
Indeed, he himself was one of those attacking gods!
"..." After lengthy silence, the God of Disease, with so remorse and boundless fury, gave his consent.
It’s only the destruction of a group of mortals.
As long as he does not touch that so-called Trial Taker and those beside him, the Divine Court would not intervene.
The words he had spoken should not be violated, surely.
The God of Disease could only comfort himself thus.
And so, the rage and brutality in his heart seed to at last find an outlet.
Strong divine spirits are one thing, but re mortals ultimately cannot resist the gods!
"Divine Power! I need more divine power." The God of Disease gave his demand, "Transfer the Forest Goddess’s divine power to ."
Several gods exchanged glances, then gave their assent.
The Forest Goddess is a middle-level god; though her consciousness is lost in slumber and her full power unavailable, even a portion is enough for Necros to destroy an entire plane!
Now, let us see how the All Heavens Divine Court responds.
The gods’ minds churned with ceaseless thoughts.
Whether they act or do not act, all will bring great change.
And at this mont, Wizard Shen Yu was completing the final tallying work.
It was already late at night, the moon still hung in the sky; but the gentle moonlight brought no beauty, only stirring fear in many.
Because so planes discovered recently had been utterly destroyed by the moonlight.
In many mythic legends, the Moon Goddess was the symbol of beauty and kindness, but her world-destroying thods were unbearably ruthless.
Within that moonlight was the power to freeze souls; those bathed in it would be seized instantly by cold—an extre, soul-deep cold. Though the temperature did not change in the air, the chill was indescribable.
