Now reading: Chapter 490 - 281: Level 5 Interstellar Civilizations (Part from Facing the Apocalypse with My Other Selves, a Sci-fi novel by Rusty Runes.

"One hundred and thirty-six civilizations." Shen Yu glanced at the number on the list and let out a long breath.

This number, for the forces within a communication region, was sowhat too many.

Under normal circumstances, the distribution of forces centers around communication regions.

In other words, it’s a convenient area for information exchange.

If the communication within a force reaches an intensive level, then, even if there are different voices within, it can still be regarded as a whole.

That is to say, for a Level Five Civilization that can span the endless starry sky with instant information exchange, the number of civilizations and the distribution of forces can only be distinguished by the human-defined boundaries of information transmission.

And the current number of Level Five Civilizations ans that Human Civilization has already fully entered the circle of the entire Level Five Civilizations.

In other words — they have truly stepped under the gaze of the entire Interstellar Universe!

"This is sowhat unexpected," Shen Yu said at this mont, but his actions were not slow, directly waving his hand, and the Gray Mist was once again consud crazily.

He delineated the top ten most powerful civilizations among these Level Five Civilizations.

Since the first step is to find partners, then they should find the most powerful ones.

And these ten Level Five Civilizations can almost be said to stand at the pinnacle of the entire Interstellar Universe.

However, when looking at the more detailed information, Shen Yu couldn’t help but frown deeply.

"Sothing’s not right here," Shen Yu said aloud.

Others also realized it.

These top ten civilizations had a stark contrast to the civilizations they usually understood.

For instance, one of them was called the "Infinite" civilization.

This civilization had been translated as roughly the consciousness of the infinite.

The entire civilization had no individual entity, only a single collective consciousness.

This collective consciousness divides itself into countless parts, each responsible for its duties.

In other words, although it looks like an ordinary civilization from the outside, in reality, it is just one person.

When you encounter any seemingly independent life form among them, in fact, you’ve seen the entire civilization.

"It’s truly incredible," the Wizard Civilization murmured, their eyes growing brighter, "In the Wizard Civilization, there’s also such a Level Eight Wizard faction that endlessly divides their consciousness, but they can’t handle a way of thinking that matches this mode of thought. So all wizards of this faction have yet to break through to Level Nine truly; they all failed."

Yes, it’s essentially an issue of cognitive patterns.

For instance, an AI robot can divide its consciousness into two unified yet independent AIs, even having them debate from completely different standpoints.

But life forms cannot achieve this.

Once they do, it ans the two consciousnesses beco independent entities rather than unified ones.

How does one achieve being both different and the sa?

Both dispersed and whole.

Even for an existence like a Level Eight Wizard, this remains an unsolvable problem.

It requires extensive, frenzied, and possibly abyss-bound learning and experintation.

But now, it seems that a civilization has achieved it.

What does this an?

It ans that if you can reach this civilization’s cognitive mode, or rather life model, you may be able to shape a Level Nine Wizard!

Even, with the use of Gray Mist, turn this matter into an absolute with minimal consumption.

"Interstellar Civilization and Wizard Civilization are truly perfect complents," Wizard Shen Yu couldn’t help but sigh at the end.

If he could have traveled freely between Interstellar Civilization and Wizard Civilization from the start, perhaps, even without the Gray Mist Space, he could quickly beco a giant.

Even beco a Level Ten Wizard.

"This kind of civilization, it’s a pity we can’t understand their cognitive mode, making it hard to judge their behavior pattern." Shen Yu, however, did not forget his purpose and felt so regret.

The inability to predict cooperation is a huge disadvantage.

They still wish to find a civilization they can predict for initial, friendly exchanges as much as possible.

Though, this requirent, for civilizations of such level, is indeed hard to achieve.

All the other civilizations have, more or less, so issues.

For example, a civilization translated to "Regulator Civilization," which oversees all paraters in the universe, has completely ceased developnt, and its life and consciousness entities are very scarce, with only a few hundred.

Therefore, they do not focus on gaining Extraordinary Power from Human Civilization.

No matter how powerful the force, it bears no significance to such a civilization.

They are rely regulators.

They believe the universe has a lifespan, a very short one, and once it reaches the end, everything in the universe will be wiped out, and all civilizations and people will lose all possibilities as their civilization did.

So they will do everything to erase any existence that might negatively impact the universe’s lifespan.

From this perspective, they might be either enemies or allies of Human Civilization.

The distinction depends on whether the several hundred who wield great power view Human Civilization’s impact on the universe positively or negatively.

Additionally, there’s a civilization nad the Quantum Civilization.

The entire civilization delves deep into the Quantum Domain.

They believe that macro-level technology is an erroneous path, and only the microscopic region holds all the universe’s truths.

The entire civilization does everything to minimize itself, attempting to escape the macro universe and relocate to the Quantum Universe.

This civilization avoids all interactions in the macro universe, even believing that such could bring threats because they journey on a different path.

And after Shen Yu and others reviewed all the information on these ten civilizations, they ultimately had to admit — none of them could be considered even slightly normal.

"Without a unified set of Extraordinary Rules, it ans that civilizations tread a vast space without direction or guidance." interstellar Shen Yu sighed in the end, "Any choice, any scenario is possible, and in this process, human nature, or life’s instinct, is the most vulnerable, the easiest to discard."

This is clearly different from the Extraordinary Path.

The Extraordinary Path constantly pushes the levels of life’s individual forward, the whole process is essentially an enhancent of the self and life.

Not a weakening.

Therefore, even the most powerful Extraordinary Life that can destroy the entire universe would still possess greed, goals, and most human weaknesses and strengths.

But pure technological civilizations are different.

Life itself is too fragile.

"What do we do now?" Martial Artist Shen Yu couldn’t help but ask, "Choose one from these strange civilizations? I think the Regulator Civilization is quite good, the appearance of Extraordinary Rules surely has positive effects on the universe’s lifespan."

"But how to prove it? Take them to see other worlds with Extraordinary Power?" interstellar Shen Yu gently shook his head, "I have actually heard of this civilization; in most cases, they only observe, rarely intervening directly."

Ultimately, the behavior of the vast majority of civilizations, whether surviving or perishing, actually holds no impact on the entire universe.

Finally, Shen Yu spoke: "Perhaps, we can change our approach; instead of finding them, let’s see which civilizations co to find us."
