When You Su suddenly received praise from his aloof master, he felt a bit overwheld:

"Uh?"

He Shutong slightly furrowed her brows, pursed her lips, and continued:

"After your sudden increase in cultivation, you did not lose yourself but instead focused on stabilizing your Dao. Your temperant is comndable."

"Thank you, Master, for the complint." You Su was about to raise his hand to salute, but an invisible Profound Qi held back his movent.

"Rember in the future, when you receive what is rightfully yours, there is no need for excessive formalities."

For so reason, when He Shutong saw this cautious deanor of the blind young man, she felt a hidden pain in her heart.

You Su was slightly startled. It was the first ti his master had taught him sothing besides the Sword Dao. He quickly wanted to bow and express his thanks, but the Profound Qi still hovered in front of his chest, preventing him from bowing.

Only then did he nod slightly and, with respect, said:

"You Su will rember."

After saying that, silence remained. Even You Su didn’t know how to continue.

The master’s change was inexplicable, giving You Su the feeling that this woman had transford from an unattainable snow lotus to a pond lotus that could be observed from a distance.

Seeing You Su’s silence, He Shutong’s long lashes trembled slightly, and her fair fingertips rubbed nervously. She gathered her courage and asked proactively:

"Don’t you have any questions you want to ask ?"

Upon hearing this, You Su wasn’t going to let this opportunity slip through his fingers, and he voiced all the questions in his heart.

"How did you save us, Master? Is it really peaceful outside now? Did the evil spirits flee, or were they vanquished? Has Mr. Liou’s body been found? Who exactly was he? Has the fog outside dispersed? Were there heavy casualties in Chuyun City..."

A string of questions poured out, and just as You Su realized he might’ve been inconsiderate of his master’s feelings and was about to apologize, He Shutong spoke first, her tone reverting to its previous coldness:

"Aren’t you curious about who I am?"

You Su was montarily stunned, then imdiately smiled warmly and said:

"Master, you must be joking. You are my master. As for your other identities, they are not my concern as your disciple."

He Shutong nodded slightly, remained silent for a while, then said again, her tone calm once more:

"During your ditation, your junior sister already told about the general events you two experienced recently. Based on that, let share my deductions with you:

The evil spirit with a vortex on its torso is called the Dream-Eating Ghost. The evil spirit outside constantly emitting fog is called the Mist Kun, also known as Mr. Buwu. The Dream-Eating Ghost seed to have co to seize the inheritance of an ancient Evil God, while Mr. Buwu was the guardian of this legacy."

The Mr. Liou you ntioned was the Sect Leader of the Evil-Repelling Sect, which was destroyed a hundred years ago. He abandoned his evil skills to start anew, masquerading and infiltrating the Profound Sky Sect for forty years. His goal in becoming the City Lord of Chuyun was to hide the Evil God’s legacy within Chuyun City. Through his ticulous planning, not only did he manage to kill Gu Yao of the Feather Transformation Realm, but he also awakened Mr. Buwu and reached so agreent. Mr. Buwu held countless evil spirits within, but these spirits could only survive within the fog he emitted. Using this, Liou Qinnan intended to sacrifice the city’s populace to acquire the Evil God’s power. Yet, these plans were disrupted by the Dream-Eating Ghost, and you were manipulated by the Dream-Eating Ghost. Whether intentional or not, you accomplished sothing extraordinary.

The place holding the Evil God’s legacy was hidden within Mr. Buwu’s body. After finding it, the Dream-Eating Ghost began to contend with Mr. Buwu for the legacy. The place where you and your junior sister were taken earlier was within that legacy site, and you battled with Liou Qinnan, another pawn of Mr. Buwu, there. I intended to find you but was held back by others. In the end, both you and the Dream-Eating Ghost won, and the Dream-Eating Ghost fled with the legacy. With Mr. Buwu and Liou Qinnan dead, the city’s civilians are now safe, though there were casualties. Reinforcents from nearby cities have arrived, and everything in the city has settled. Fortunately, neither you nor your junior sister was tainted by the evil spirits."

You Su was amazed at how much his master said all at once, nearly more than she’d spoken for the entire past eight years.

Seeing You Su’s speechlessness, He Shutong thought he was refraining from asking due to her status, so she asked again:

"Any more questions?"

Though You Su had many unresolved doubts, asking more would risk mistakes. The version of events his master heard from his junior sister was evidently curated, excluding the crucial Taisui, which was never ntioned. This indicated that even with his master’s insights, she did not know what treasure the Dream-Eating Ghost stole from the altar.

"No more," You Su shook his head.

He Shutong nodded slightly. She knew so details in her explanation might not align, but she didn’t want to forcefully interrogate these survivors.

Just like they might hide things from her, she too buried her biggest concern, deliberately not ntioning... the mysterious disfigured man.

Rembering the actions of the disfigured man, He Shutong thought it seed like everything was orchestrated by him, even reducing Mr. Liou’s century-old plans to re plays in his ga. This suggested his involvent in Chuyun City’s events might have begun even earlier than Mr. Liou’s plans...

After so thought, He Shutong took out a dazzling array of treasures from a pouch at her waist.

Although You Su couldn’t clearly see, he was still stunned by the palpable treasure aura that filled the air, indicating his master also had an impressive magical storage treasure.

Despite speaking nonchalantly earlier, claiming he wasn’t curious about his master’s true identity was impossible. However, he feared finding an answer to this question. He feared the answer would be too startling, affecting his ability to treat her as just his master. So he chose to play the ostrich, avoiding seeking this answer, content just knowing she was his master.

This was not self-deception on You Su’s part. After his master left, she beca an emotional anchor, and unknowingly, he began to regard her as an important person. Even though she rarely reciprocated his goodwill before, her concern beca evident through these conversations. Now, since his junior sister was destined to part from him temporarily, You Su only hoped not to lose another important person.

"Master, what does this an?" You Su knowingly inquired.

"These are yours by right. The Qiankun Bag you took from that evil Taoist should be able to hold them." He Shutong pushed the treasures forward, leaving no room for refusal in her tone.

You Su wanted to decline, but he sensed a drastic change in He Shutong’s aura, sharp as a sword. Suddenly, he dared not say more, afraid of speaking wrongly. However, the hostility that erged from He Shutong wasn’t directed at him; she said softly:

"Continue to rest and don’t wander around; I’ll be back soon."

You Su didn’t know what had happened but could only nod in response.

...

In the high sky, winds rushed by as an old woman faced a white-dressed Divine Maiden from a distance.

"I’m here to take my second lady ho and not to provoke. Lotus Sword Venerable attacked without understanding the situation. Could it be you don’t recognize the docunt granted by Henggao Divine Mountain?"

Though the old woman appeared calm, her heart was pounding. She thought having this docunt would grant her unimpeded access to the Zhongyuan Continent. Who would have thought coming to retrieve her lady and clean up so ss would result in clashing with a Venerable? Seeing the voluptuously figured fairy opposite her remain silent, she squinted her old eyes and said:

"Or is it that the Venerable just looks down on us Demon Race, and today you decide to rely on power to bully the Yao?"

"You can take her, but you’re not to touch the boy," He Shutong said coldly, her tone full of impending danger.

"Oh?" The old woman’s mind was tumbling. The feeble young man she believed duped their second lady was now being defended by the renowned Lotus Sword Venerable, forcing her to reassess the boy’s identity.

"May I ask his relation to the Venerable?"

He Shutong thought for a mont, "He is my disciple."

Greatly shocked, the old woman, although from the Demon Race, knew much about the Human Race’s affairs. To her knowledge, Lotus Sword Venerable had only one disciple, the current leader of the younger generation in the Profound Sky Sect, Fairy Wangshu. When did she secretly gain a male disciple too?

Astounded, she realized Lotus Sword Venerable had no reason to deceive her. If indeed so, what kind of person would this boy grow up to be?

Even with her deep-seated hatred for the Human Race, she couldn’t help but sway.

To say their eldest lady could deceive such a human prodigy might be possible. But their naïve, child-like second lady? How was that possible?
