Ji Xueruo then tidied You Su’s dress before continuing forward.
They climbed a stone ladder, reaching the master’s door. The room was imposing, its grandeur visible even in the dark.
A dignified lady stood guard outside, blocking their way.
"To deliver an item, only one may enter, the other must remain outside."
The lady’s voice was cold, a celestial servant of Spirit Platform Upper Realm.
Swiftly deciding, Ji Xueruo squeezed You Su’s hand tighter, indicating she would go in while You Su waited outside. Unable to speak or gesture much, You Su let her go, feeling the heat of her hand linger in his palm.
"Enter." The lady glanced at Ji Xueruo in the guise of Yuhong.
Ji Xueruo proceeded, gently calling:
"Master, Yuhong is here to visit."
As she spoke, the door opened on its own.
The room was spacious, the master casually dressed, exposing a half of his collarbone, his hair slightly disheveled, imrsed in reading and annotating docunts.
Seeing Ji Xueruo approach, he slowly raised his head, his handso face now weary, eyes bloodshot.
"What does Miss Ji wish to deliver to ?"
Ji Xueruo, head bowed, replied:
"It’s not an item Miss Ji wants to bring, but a ssage."
"What ssage?"
"Miss Ji asked to remind you of the saying ’Erging unstained from the sli, purifying but not charming.’
The master’s hand paused in its motion over the pages, his gaze fluctuating over Yuhong, expression shifting.
Suddenly his countenance lifted, eyes gleaming with newfound vitality, exclaiming joyfully:
"Miss Ji! You’re not dead!"
