Just before impact, the figure's true form managed to rge with the last shadow, but he was still swept by the torrent.

The crowned figure stumbled out.
His crown was destroyed, his robe torn, and blood trickled from his mouth.
He was pale and furious.
He had actually been injured!
"Im... impossible! How could you still have so much magic power?!"
The answer was the cold golden flas in BlackWarGreymon's eyes, and its claws rising once more.
'Again?!' The man's pupils contracted.
'Retreat was the only option now.'
"Terra Destroyer!" A second destructive cannon fired.
He threw his image to the wind, splitting into scattered shadows to flee, dodging wretchedly but taking more damage.
'Monster!' he cursed inwardly.
BlackWarGreymon didn't stop.
It locked onto the core magic and flashed forward like black lightning.
A third Terra Destroyer began to form.
"Enough!" The man spat a mouthful of blood, activating his secret technique.
His speed skyrocketed as he grabbed the heavily injured Phantom and tore open an ancient scroll.
"Night Escape!"
A blinding dark purple light erupted, twisting space violently.
Just as the third blast was about to hit, they were devoured by the light and vanished.
"Black Monster! And you Summoning Mage kid! I will rember you, we'll et again!"
BOOM!
The third blast hit empty air, shattering the spatial ripple and blasting another giant crater into the ground.
BlackWarGreymon landed, It snorted coldly at the spot where the "slippery bug" had vanished.
Ace erged from his hiding spot, looking at the devastated valley.
That mysterious man was definitely S-Class mage, maybe even bordering on the Ten Wizard Saints.
But under BlackWarGreymon's unreasonable, near-infinite firepower, he had no choice but to run.
"Co back, BlackWarGreymon. You've worked hard," Ace said softly.
BlackWarGreymon looked at Ace.
Its eyes held a hint of dissatisfaction that the fight hadn't been finished, but it transford into data and disappeared.

He turned and set off for Fairy Tail.
