Thanks to Ron's warning, Natsu—who had been clamoring to go rescue everyone—was promptly knocked unconscious by Erza.
Just to be safe, Makarov even transford him into a salamander, sealed him inside a bottle, and placed him right in the Guild Hall, entrusting the entire mbership with the task of keeping an eye on him.
So, after going through the motions at the Council—sitting through a hearing that was a warning in all but na—Ron returned to Magnolia that very evening.
The next day, no sooner had he arrived at the guild than Natsu stord up to him, seething with indignation.
"Ron, you jerk! I went to save you, and you actually had Erza knock out!"
"It's my fault," Ron laughed, his eyes full of sincerity. "I failed to live up to Natsu's good intentions."
Natsu huffed at his words and walked away like a tsundere.
"By the way, did yesterday's duel continue? Who won?"
"Erza, of course!" Happy imdiately sold Natsu out. "Natsu was flattened with just one punch..."
"Happy!!!"
Suddenly, the familiar sounds of laughter and joy rang out in the guild hall.
Ron watched the scene with a smile playing on his lips, when he suddenly felt a wave of sleepiness wash over him.
"This guy, at it again..."
He shook his head and dispelled the Sleep Magic on himself with a wave of his hand.
The others, however, were overco by drowsiness, their eyes glazing over as they collapsed one by one onto the floor, unconscious.
Even Erza could hardly resist; she fell to her knees in a disheveled state, her head dropping as she sank into a deep sleep.
Tap!
Tap!
Tap!
Footsteps echoed in the hall; Mystogan had arrived to pick up a quest.
"Honestly, you're as shy as ever."
Ron helped Erza into a seat and teased the person passing by.
Mystogan was wrapped up tightly, a black headscarf covering his short blue hair and a mask hiding his face except for his eyes. Bandages were wrapped around his hands and feet, and with the blue-black cloak on his back, he appeared incredibly mysterious.
He ignored Ron's teasing and walked straight to the request board. After a quick glance, he casually took down a request slip.
"I'm leaving..."
He spoke succinctly as he passed by Makarov.
"Hey! Rember to dispel the Sleep Magic!!!"
"Five!"
"Four!"
"Three!"
"Two!"
"One!"
Mystogan counted as he walked. Just as he reached the guild entrance, he hit one, and his figure vanished completely.
Everyone began to wake up one after another.
"What... just happened?"
Lucy rubbed her eyes blankly, looking like she had just woken up, completely unaware of what had occurred.
"Mystogan was here. That was his Sleep Magic just now."
Gray looked at the spirited Ron.
"As expected, only this guy can completely resist Mystogan's magic."
Lucy looked at Erza and Mirajane, and then at the unaffected Ron.
In her heart, she gained a deeper understanding of the guild's S-Class mages and Ron's strength.
Then she looked at Natsu on the floor... still snoring away.
This guy... Lucy shook her head, walked over, and helped him up.
"By the way, why does Mystogan use magic to make everyone sleep when he cos?" Lucy asked curiously.
"For so reason, he doesn't seem to want anyone to see his face."
Gray shrugged and said helplessly, "That guy does this every ti he cos to pick up a job, using Sleep Magic to put everyone to sleep."
"What? That's way too weird."
"So I guess only the Master and Ron know what he looks like."
"No, I know too!"
A proud voice ca from the guild's second floor. A rebellious blonde youth leaned over the railing, looking down.
"Laxus!!!"
The guild mbers were shocked; this guy actually showed up at the guild today.
"Heh, the awkward guy is here," Gray muttered.
"Mystogan is very shy, so don't be so inquisitive. Am I right..." Laxus looked at Ron, "Copycat Brat?"
"Hmm?"
Natsu woke up instantly, as if a switch had been flipped.
"Laxus, co and fight !!!"
"Oh, forget it. If you can't even beat soone like Erza, you definitely can't beat ."
Laxus's tone was mocking.
"Huh? What do you an by that!!!"
With one sentence, Erza was instantly enraged.
But she didn't make a move. Although Laxus was arrogant and foul-mouthed, that wasn't a reason to attack a comrade.
"Get down here, you jerk, and accept my challenge!"
"You co up here then..."
"Fine, you wait!!!"
Bam!
Regardless of the consequences, Natsu prepared to charge to the second floor. However, in mid-air, he was slamd into the floor by Makarov's enlarged arm.
"Natsu, you are not S-Class. You are not allowed on the second floor yet."
"Ahahaha, you made him angry! Natsu, if you want to challenge , get to the second floor first!"
In just a few minutes of appearing, Laxus had successfully provoked everyone's dissatisfaction.
"Your personality really is rotten, Laxus..."
Ron looked at the second floor: Honestly, isn't this guy's rebellious phase... a bit too long!
"Oh, I heard so people are calling you guys the strongest team?" Laxus's smile faded as he looked at Ron. "How about you co up and try?"7
"Not interested."
Ron refused imdiately without even thinking.
"The throne of Fairy Tail's strongest is not sothing I'll give up to anyone. Not Erza, not Mystogan, and not even Gildarts. I am the strongest..."
"Can soone who can't even see their own heart be called the strongest?"
"Is that so?"
Laxus's face darkened slightly, then he suddenly grinned.
Boom!
Boom!
Two sudden claps of thunder exploded in the hall, making everyone instinctively cover their ears.
Crash!!!
Golden lightning and silver-white lightning collided instantly, exploding into a blinding light.
Everyone closed their eyes!
By the ti they opened them, the two had already stopped.
There was a conspicuous round hole in the collar of Ron's black outer robe.
As for Laxus, the wire of his headphone on one side of his neck was severed.
"Old man, you saw that. It wasn't who started it."
Ron first looked at Makarov to lodge a complaint, then looked up at the second floor.
"Laxus, you're being a bit impulsive."
Ron grinned, and his next words rang directly in Laxus's mind.
"It would be quite laughable if you were expelled from the guild for attacking a comrade before any of your plans could even begin, wouldn't it?"
Laxus narrowed his eyes, staring intently at Ron.
"Was that the magic you copied from just now?"
"Interesting."
He then snorted and turned into a bolt of lightning that no one could track, leaving the guild.
