"Watch out, stand firm!" Ron reminded them.
"???"
"Hey, Ron, wait a second..."
Lucy rushed forward to stop him, but it was too late. Several holes abruptly appeared beneath their feet, and then... "Ah—!!! Why is there a hole here all of a sudden?!"
Under the influence of gravity, the group fell rapidly. Ron, who was prepared, was surrounded by a gentle breeze that lifted him to a steady descent.
Happy also spread his wings in ti, circling nimbly and calmly in the air.
Erza landed firmly on the ground with a "thud." Her powerful physical fitness and reflexes allowed her to handle this situation with ease.
As for Lucy... just as her butt was about to hit the ground, a gentle wind supported her body. Although she was in a bit of a rush and looked sowhat disheveled, she landed smoothly without rolling or crawling.
"Not bad, a perfect landing!"
"Ron! What are you doing!" Lucy climbed up angrily, pointing at Ron and strongly condemning his actions.
"This is the fastest way," Ron said with a smile, waving his hand. "See, we've already arrived."
Lucy turned her head and found that they had indeed reached their destination.
Gray and Lyon, who were still dueling, temporarily stopped their battle because of the sudden intrusion of Ron and the others.
"Yo, Lucy, Happy!" Natsu greeted them with a laugh as he saw who it was. "Ron, you too..."
His voice ca to an abrupt halt, and the smile on his face froze instantly.
"Er... Er... Erza!!!"
How did Erza get here?! No one told about this!!!
Are you kidding ? This is an existence even more terrifying than Deliora!
Maybe I should just run first?!
Natsu's face turned pale, and his feet subconsciously turned, preparing to flee from this place of trouble.
"Stay right where you are!" Erza barked, glancing coldly.
"Aye!"
Natsu imdiately dismissed the idea of running away and stood at attention obediently.
"It's appeared, Happy No. 2..." Lucy exclaid.
Staying by Erza's side, Natsu felt like he was sitting on pins and needles, trembling and feeling uncomfortable all over.
Natsu: Is there anyone else outside? Or should I go out and fight again?
Seeing that Ron and the others had arrived, Gray understood that the matters outside had been settled.
Now, only Lyon was left.
"Lyon, it looks like this is the end. Your plan has failed."
Lyon's face beca extrely unsightly. Looking at Gray in front of him, and then at Ron, Erza, and the others, he also understood the current situation.
"Heh, failure?"
Lyon sneered, a powerful surge of magic power undulating around him. The chill he emitted instantly froze the surrounding air, condensing into a cold mist that drifted away.
"In the past ten years, I've looked for partners and studied knowledge, finally learning about the existence of the moon drip magic! I spent a great deal of effort to find this island where moonlight gathers!"
"Do you know how much trouble I went through to transport Deliora from Brago to this island?! Do you know how much ti I spent to gather moonlight to break the Iced Shell and revive Deliora?!"
"Three years! Three whole years!!!"
His eyes were filled with paranoia and madness, as well as a strong sense of unwillingness.
"Do you know how I've lived these past three years?!"
Lyon pointed at Gray and roared.
"And you?! You've been staying safely in the guild for these ten years, probably forgetting everything long ago! And now you have the nerve to tell I've failed?!"
"As long as I deal with all of you, everything will be back on track!"
His gaze swept across Ron, Erza, and Natsu, his eyes filled with cold killing intent.
"Deliora will be successfully revived by the moon drip, and I will kill this demon that even Ur couldn't defeat, thereby... surpassing Ur!!!"
Looking at the chuunibyou and paranoid Lyon, Ron really wanted to say: Kid, you don't have a chance anymore. Deliora died a long ti ago.
Lyon raised his hand and pointed forward, instantly molding nurous ice eagles.
The flock of ice eagles covered the sky, aggressive and carrying a bone-chilling cold as they hissed and rushed toward everyone.
Seeing this, Gray suddenly spread his hands, and a massive Ice Shield instantly condensed in front of him.
All the ice eagles slamd into the Ice Shield with muffled thuds, eventually shattering into a shower of ice crystals.
"Although you have a strong drive to succeed, you haven't realized that you've already taken the wrong path! You even say you want to defeat Ur?"
Gray glared at Lyon with sharp eyes.
"You're still far from it! Go reflect on yourself first!!!"
Maker Magic—it truly deserves its reputation as the freest magic.
Although both of their magic was learned from Ur, the styles of both Gray and Lyon were vastly different from Ur's plant molding.
Lyon's molding represents "motion" with animals, nimble and agile; while Gray's molding represents "stillness" with objects, solid and balanced.
Their clash now was no longer the previous close-quarters combat, but a confrontation between Maker Magics.
A sharp sword decapitating a wolf, a curved bow shooting a cold eagle, a giant ape smashing an ice hamr, a flying dragon breaking a long spear, a cage trapping a fierce tiger... For a ti, various animals and weapons complented each other, appearing in rapid succession. The cold filled the entire space, with the sounds of whistling and ice splashing everywhere.
"Ice-Make: Cage!!!"
Gray perford a nimble flip, and an ice cage instantly condensed, trapping Lyon's baring-clawed ice tiger within it.
"Is this a true reflection of you, Lyon?"
He stood atop the cage, looking down. "A pathetic beast that knows nothing of the world."
"A lost person is weak and fragile!"
Being mocked by Gray caused Lyon to break down in anger, his handso face twisting into a hideous expression.
"Boring nonsense!" he roared, attempting to manipulate the ice tiger to break through the cage. "Watch break your Maker Magic!"
However, no matter how the ice tiger lunged and charged, it could not break through the confining cage. It was rely a trapped beast, making a futile struggle.
Gray jumped down from the cage and looked at Lyon across from him.
"Maker Magic perford with one hand lacks balance, so at critical monts, it won't be able to exert full power... This is sothing Ur once taught us."6
"You haven't forgotten, have you, Lyon?"
Gray's words were like sharp knives, stabbing deep into Lyon's heart, leaving him with a dazed expression.
"Ice-Make: Ice Cannon!!!"
Gray extended both hands, and an ice-blue magic circle appeared beneath his feet. Within the cold mist, a massive cannon barrel made entirely of ice and snow rested on his shoulder.
"Bang!"
A massive ice and snow shell, carrying an overwhelming and peerless power, whistled out from the barrel and landed on Lyon!
The ice and snow exploded, and cold air radiated in all directions. Lyon let out a wretched scream as he was sent flying by the massive impact, slamming heavily against the temple wall and slowly sliding down.
The outco... was decided!
"He won!!!"
The usual cheerleaders, Lucy and Happy, cheered loudly, their faces filled with excitent.
Erza also showed a smile.
Natsu also had a smile on his face as he patted Gray's shoulder hard.
"Not bad, Gray, but you were too slow. If it were , I would have finished the fight in just a few moves."
"Who's too slow!!!"
Gray was instantly 'enraged' and jumped up to argue, and the two began their daily bickering again.
Amidst the fooling around, Gray noticed sothing was missing. He scanned the area and, as expected, did not see Ron.
"Ron? Where did he go?"
"Ron said he knew you'd win for sure, so there wasn't much point in just standing around watching. That's why he headed over to where Deliora is."
Gray nodded upon hearing this, a proud smile appearing on his face that said, "Ron really knows best."
