"What do you an?" Jellal frowned, his eyes filled with a trace of uncertainty.
"Isn't my aning clear enough?" Ron raised an eyebrow in surprise.
He reached out a long, slender finger and tapped lightly on the massive magic crystal beside him, producing a crisp clinking sound.
Then, with one hand in his pocket and his chin tilted slightly upward, he struck an incredibly arrogant pose.
"I've taken a liking to this tower."
"Once the Etherion descends and this tower is fully charged..."
Ron grinned, revealing a set of stark white teeth.
"It's mine! Got it?"
"..."
The air suddenly went quiet.
Jellal did not retort, nor did he fly into a rage.
He just stared fixedly at Ron, his heart in turmoil.
'How does this guy... know the true nature of the Tower of Heaven?'
'He even knows that Etherion is required...'
Jellal's gaze wandered over Ron, finally stopping on those bewitching eyes.
As if he had figured sothing out, his brows relaxed, and a confident, playful smile tugged at the corners of his mouth.
"So that's how it is..."
"You truly surprise , Heterochromatic Ron."
Jellal stood with his hands behind his back, looking completely in control.
"I didn't expect those eyes of yours to be able to see through the truth of the Tower of Heaven."
"But so what—"
Jellal erupted with a burst of powerful magic, blowing his black cloak so that it snapped in the wind.
"If you want the Tower of Heaven, you have to defeat ."
He stepped forward, his eyes holding a hint of mockery.
"But can the current you... do that?"
"Ever since you walked through that door, you've just been standing there flapping your lips without any intention of taking action."
"Let guess..."
A glimr of wisdom flashed in Jellal's eyes.
"Is it because you haven't recovered from your fight with Jose?"
"As I thought, your attack when you arrived on the island and your arrogant display just now were nothing more than a bluff!"
Watching Jellal's confident expression of "I have seen through everything," Ron's mouth couldn't help but twitch violently.
'Is this kid's... ability to overthink things a bit too strong?'
'I was just afraid that if I beat you too hard, it would ss up my plan...'
You have to know that in the original plot, Jellal had a tendency to get desperate and try to destroy the tower along with everyone inside.
One really had to guard against that!
Ron took a deep breath and pursed his lips.
"Ah, yes, yes, yes."
He gave a triple affirmation, directly admitting to Jellal's guess.
"..."
The smile on Jellal's face instantly stiffened.
What was up with this perfunctory attitude?!
Not only did this not give him the satisfaction of being validated, but it actually left him feeling frustrated, like punching cotton.
It was too insulting!
But this was a critical mont; the Etherion was about to descend, and Jellal didn't want to add any unnecessary variables.
Although Ron was stalling for ti, wasn't he doing the sa?
As long as the Etherion descended, his Thought Projection from the Council could return, and then he, in his pri, would have nothing to fear from the enemy before him.
Once he resurrected Zeref, everyone else would be nothing but clowns.
And so, the room fell into an extrely eerie silence.
Jellal sat in his chair, looking up at the sky, appearing deep in thought, but in reality, he was frantically urging it on internally.
'This Etherion is charging so slowly, why hasn't it descended yet!'
Ron leaned against a pillar, boredly picking at his fingers, also muttering to himself.
'Hasn't Erza finished fighting yet? Ikaruga is sowhat skilled, but surely she shouldn't take this long, right?'
'Should I go down there and swap places with her? This situation is just too awkward.'
In this suffocatingly awkward atmosphere, Jellal finally spoke first.
In his view, Ron's eyes were indeed unique, and if they could be utilized...
"Heterochromatic Ron."
Jellal's voice took on a seductive tone.
"Since you need this tower, perhaps... we can cooperate."
"Oh?"
Ron raised an eyebrow and shifted into a more comfortable position.
'Is he trying to recruit ?'
"Whatever your purpose for needing the Tower of Heaven, our goals do not conflict."
Jellal spread his arms, his expression fanatical.
"As long as we can resurrect him..."
"Stop, stop, stop..."
Looking at Jellal's pyramid sche leader appearance, Ron really couldn't help it and rolled his eyes.
He unceremoniously interrupted Jellal.
"You don't need to say the sa things you used to con Simon and the others."
"Speaking of which, you really are still dreaming the sa stupid dream of resurrecting Zeref as always."
As soon as these words were spoken, Jellal's expression instantly froze.
Building the Tower of Heaven to resurrect Zeref and create a world with Zeref in it was his lifelong faith.
He had always thought this way, and this was what he had told Simon and the others.
Therefore, he wasn't surprised that Ron knew this.
What really made him feel annoyed was Ron's gaze, which was full of disdain, as if he were looking at an idiot.
"A stupid dream?!"
Jellal laughed in anger, shook his head, and revealed a haughty look of "how could a swallow understand the ambition of a swan."
"Fair enough, for soone like you, it's normal not to understand that great existence."
"The Tower of Heaven, originally nad the R-System, is a forbidden magic created by the ancestor of black Wizards 400 years ago—Zeref—capable of resurrecting the dead!"
"It can break the boundary between life and death. As long as Zeref is resurrected, this world will be reshaped, and we will welco a true paradise!"
"And you actually call it a stupid dream? You are ignorant to the extre!"
Listening to this impassioned, self-indulgent speech.
"Pfft..."
Ron covered his mouth, his shoulders trembling violently, until finally, he couldn't hold it back anymore.
"Hahahaha!!!"
"You... what are you laughing at?!"
Jellal's face turned livid, feeling that his faith had been greatly insulted.
"Sorry, sorry, I usually don't laugh, unless I can't help it."
Ron waved his hand and stopped smiling.
"I thought you were going to say sothing, but this is it?"
Not only do I know this was created by Zeref, but I also know why he created it; do I act smug?
I even know what he has beco because of creating this magic; do I act proud?
"Although it is immoral to make fun of other people's dreams and faith, but..."
The look in Ron's eyes as he looked at Jellal was full of pity.
"You foolish guy."
"Knowing nothing, yet you dare to dream of using this magic to resurrect Zeref?"
Ron straightened his body, his tone playful.
"How about... you let be Zeref's disciple instead!"
"What did you say?!"
Jellal's pupils shook violently, and he subconsciously shook his head in rebuttal.
"The R-System is perfect; as long as there is enough magic..."
"The reason I call you stupid is not because the magic is flawed, nor is it because of the magic power."
Ron leaned forward slightly, extended a finger, and waved it in front of Jellal.
"Jellal, resurrection magic is used to resurrect the dead, right?"
"But—"
He curled his lips into an extrely wicked smile and, word by word, threw out the words that would kill the heart.
"Zeref, that guy—"
"Never died!!!"
