"Honestly, I still can’t forget the taste of that potato. No seasoning, yet it was more delicious than any other food!" Hoteye smiled involuntarily.
"I know the person you’re talking about," Erza said softly, approaching them.
"What?!" Hoteye and Jura both turned to look at her.
"He’s a friend of mine!"
"He’s doing great, traveling the world!"
Erza smiled and nodded slightly at Hoteye’s disbelieving expression.
An indescribable feeling washed over Hoteye.
His pupils trembled uncontrollably; tears welled up and flowed freely.
"Aa... ah..." He covered his head, his powerful fra shaking as he knelt to the ground.
"This is... this is the miracle, a gift bestowed only upon those who embrace the light and turn away from darkness..." His voice was broken with emotion.
"Thank you... thank you... thank you so much... uu..." The usually imposing man wept openly, his face buried in his hands.
With everything concluded, the group, led by Wendy, went to the nearby Cat’s House to rest. The battle had left many injured, requiring treatnt and resupply.
Cat’s House was a guild ford by villagers.
Their main source of inco was their high-quality textiles, which made their clothes highly sought after.
For example... Erza.
"Finn, does this look good?" Erza stood before a full-length mirror, admiring her new clothes.
Her eyes shone with satisfaction.
Finn, lounging on a sofa, looked at the ceiling, offering a perfunctory response. "It looks good..."
After trying on several outfits, she was overjoyed, eager to add them all to her storage.
It was understandable; Erza loved clothes. Her storage held hundreds of battle armors.
But the number of beautiful outfits was far greater; Finn had seen over three hundred.
What amused Finn most was that she only wore armor. Why collect so many if she never wore them? She called it "collecting," but he didn’t understand.
"Don’t you have any other descriptive words?" Erza asked, her voice slightly disappointed.
Finn looked at her wearily. "This is the 58th outfit. I’m running out of adjectives..."
"Really? That many?" Erza looked surprised.
Finn sighed. "It’s been almost two hours."
"Knock knock~"
A knock ca at the door while they were talking.
Finn got up and opened the wooden door to see Wendy standing outside, her hands clasped behind her back.
He smiled. "Wendy, what is it?"
"Finn, and Miss Erza!" Wendy peeked inside, greeting them both.
Erza smiled and nodded in acknowledgnt.
"Our guild master is holding a victory banquet, and I’m here to invite you both," Wendy explained.
"Ah, Guild Master Roubaul is very thoughtful. Let’s go then," Finn said, secretly relieved to escape the endless parade of clothing. He quickly urged Erza to join him.
...
The banquet concluded amidst a feast of delicious food and much rrint.
Once everyone had their fill, they gathered in the village square.
Observing the vibrant energy of the young people, the worry on Roubaul’s face gradually subsided.
However, a hint of unspoken reluctance was evident in his gaze towards Wendy and Carla, though he skillfully concealed it.
"Fairy Tail, Blue Pegasus, Serpent Tail, and Wendy and Carla," Roubaul began slowly.
"Thank you for defeating the Six Oración Seis and successfully destroying Nirvana."
"I, Roubaul, on behalf of the local guild alliance, extend my deepest gratitude!"
The old man and the mbers of Cat’s House bowed deeply to express their thanks.
"Thanks a bunch!"
"You’re very welco!! Guild Master Roubaul!" Midnight, striking a pose, suddenly jumped out.
Finn lowered his head, covering his eyes. "Here we go again..."
"In the relentless battles against the Six Oración Seis, though it was a hard-fought victory, the strong bonds between our comrades ultimately led us to triumph!"
Midnight closed his eyes, raising his arms in a theatrical gesture resembling a curtain call, his expression serious and dramatic.
"Truly befitting of Mr. Midnight!" The Blue Pegasus trio echoed his sentint, all three of them dropping to one knee in unison, applauding enthusiastically while their faces displayed an overwhelming wave of emotion, close to tears.
"That guy, he subtly stole all the credit for himself," Gray comnted without a hint of rcy, observing their performance.
"Did that guy even fight anyone?" Lucy quipped, her chin resting on her hand.
(Though, upon reflection, Midnight did engage in a brief battle with Midnight, albeit one that ended rather swiftly with a single, decisive blow...)
Jura, wearing a broad smile, placed a hand on Lyon and Sherria’s shoulders.
"You two did an excellent job as well!"
"Mr. Jura, I feel I could have done much better. There’s still so much room for improvent," Lyon said, scratching the back of his head sheepishly.
"But, in the end, everything worked out," Sherria remarked with a relieved smile.
"Hey, hey, hey! At a ti like this, and in a place like this village, shouldn’t we be having a victory bonfire celebration?!" Natsu suddenly exclaid, his face beaming with excitent as a brilliant idea struck him.
"Love! Bonfire!" Happy chid in enthusiastically from the side.
"Hi! And now, it’s ti for my Midnight..." Midnight produced a carrot from sowhere, using it as a makeshift microphone, his already oily voice rising in pitch.
"Mr. Midnight..." the Blue Pegasus trio responded in unison, their voices laced with exaggerated reverence.
"To showcase my amazing skills!" Midnight declared, launching into a spontaneous and rather haphazard dance routine.
"Amazing skills!" The Trins shouted, joining Midnight in a flurry of equally enthusiastic, albeit slightly uncoordinated, movents.
"These guys... this is so incredibly embarrassing to watch," Finn muttered, a twitch in the corner of his mouth.
Erza, arms crossed, smiled serenely. "I suppose it’s only to be expected from Guild Master Bob’s protégés..."
"Well, I’m certainly intrigued," Gray comnted, his shirtless torso gleaming in the moonlight as he flashed a wide grin.
"You don’t have to take your shirt off for that," Lucy retorted good-naturedly.
"Heh!" Lyon, equally shirtless, mirrored Gray’s grin.
"You too..." Lucy sighed, her face a picture of exasperated amusent.
Wendy watched the jubilant group with a happy smile.
"Co on, everyone from Cat’s House, join us!" Midnight announced, striking a pose and extending an invitation.
"Join us, join us!" the Hibiki trio urged enthusiastically.
Even Natsu and his companions couldn’t resist joining in the impromptu celebration, their bodies swaying to the rhythm of the music.
Wendy, standing beside Roubaul, was also swept up in the infectious atmosphere of joy and celebration, joining in the dance. However, noticing the solemn expressions on the faces of the Cat’s House mbers, a blush crept across Wendy’s cheeks, and she imdiately stopped dancing.
The silence that fell over the Cat’s House mbers cast a sudden shadow over the celebratory atmosphere.
"Um..." Wendy attempted to break the silence and revive the festive mood.
But Roubaul spoke first, his voice grave and somber. "To everyone gathered here, I sincerely apologize for concealing the truth about the Nirubito tribe from you all."
"Why bring that up now and spoil the mood?" Happy interjected, his voice laced with exasperation.
"Yeah, we really don’t care about that," Natsu added, echoing Happy’s sentint.
"Guild Master, I don’t mind at all!" Wendy reassured the old man.
Roubaul shook his head gently. "Everyone, please listen carefully to what I have to say."
"The truth is, we are not rely descendants of the Nirubito tribe. We are the Nirubito."
His gaze was intense, his eyes seeming to gaze into the depths of his own mories. "Four hundred years ago, the one who created Nirvana... was ."
"What?"
"No way..."
"Four hundred years ago?"
The assembled group stared at Roubaul in utter disbelief.
"Four hundred years ago, in an attempt to quell the devastating war that was engulfing the entire world, I created Nirvana, a magic capable of reversing the very essence of good and evil!"
Roubaul’s brow furrowed as he spoke of the creation of Nirvana. "And Nirvana beca a symbol of peace for our people, ushering in an era of unprecedented prosperity and tranquility."
"However... behind the imnse power of Nirvana, an equally powerful opposing force inevitably erged."
Roubaul’s expression was one of profound sorrow and regret. "For every instance of darkness transford into light, Nirvana would generate an equivalent amount of darkness. This was the inherent balance."
"Wherever there is light, darkness will inevitably be born. The darkness extracted from countless individuals... it all fell upon the Nirubito tribe..."
"What..." Wendy’s pupils dilated, her voice barely a whisper.
Roubaul closed his eyes painfully, a torrent of mories flooding his mind. "The cycle of self-destruction began. It was absolute hell!"
"The entire tribe was driven to extinction. And I... I am the sole survivor."
