AFTER finishing their lunch, the group gathered again to figure out how to divide the song parts between them.

"I wrote a division of parts," Taeyang began, putting a copy of the lyrics of their song at the center where they sat in a circle. "I divided the positions to a main vocal, a lead vocal, two sub-vocals, and a rapper. If anyone has different suggestions, please feel free to say."

Haneul looked over the lyrics sheet along with the others. It was Taeyang’s own copy, with the positions neatly written on the left side. As he read through it, Haneul could see how carefully balanced it was - each part giving soone a mont to stand out, each voice getting its chance to shine. Even the rapper, with just one verse, would have their spotlight.

Robin let out an impressed whistle. "This is so solid line distribution."

"I agree," Kim Joonhyuk said, giving Taeyang an approving thumbs-up. "Nice work, leader-nim."

Haneul nodded along. "I think we can go with this." He then turned to Park Seongwoo, making sure to include him. "What about you, Seongwoo-ssi?"

Park Seongwoo kept his eyes on the paper for a second longer before nodding. "Yeah. I think so as well."

Haneul watched Park Seongwoo for a mont before smiling slightly to himself. The dark cloud hanging over the other hadn’t completely disappeared—but it had lifted, just enough to let so light through. It wasn’t like before, when the weight of it had felt suffocating. At the very least, their earlier conversation seed to have helped, even if just a little.

"Alright," Taeyang said, looking around at each of them. "If everyone’s good with this line distribution, let’s go with it." He tapped the paper lightly with his finger. "Now let’s decide who takes which part. If you want a specific position, just say so. If multiple people want the sa part, you can each sing a verse, then the rest of us will decide who fits it best. Does that work for everyone?"

No one raised any objections.

"Then I’ll go first," Kim Joonhyuk said, raising his hand slightly. "I’ll take sub-vocal 1."

Park Seongwoo’s face lit up imdiately. "I want sub-vocal 2," he said quickly, the eagerness clear in his voice. Anyone could see how much he wanted that part.

Robin tilted his head thoughtfully. "I guess I’ll take lead vocal," he said, then shot a aningful look at Haneul. "Pretty sure we’ve got soone here who’s perfect for main vocal."

"I agree," Taeyang added, his eyes also drifting to Haneul. "That leaves with the rap part, then."

Haneul blinked, looking between them. "Wait—are you all seriously just giving main vocal like that?"

Robin shrugged. "Why not? The main vocal part has a lot of high notes. I’m pretty sure I can’t hit so of them. So, rather than embarrass myself, I’m perfectly happy singing within my vocal range, thank you very much."

"You did sing the song almost perfectly," Taeyang said, giving Haneul a steady look. "I don’t see why you can’t be the main vocal."

Haneul felt a twinge of embarrassnt at Robin’s comnt, but when Taeyang spoke, warmth rushed to his cheeks. He lowered his head quickly, hoping no one would notice the blush creeping up his neck.

Kim Joonhyuk nodded as well. "Yeah, it makes sense. You’ve got the best voice for those high notes, Haneul-ssi."

Park Seongwoo added quietly, but with conviction: "You really should take it. We all heard you yesterday, and you sounded really good."

By now, Haneul had shaken off most of his earlier embarrassnt. Arguing further would just seem insincere—everyone knew fake modesty was never a good look on anyone.

He took a deep breath and t their eyes. "Thank you. I’ll do my best to do my part well."

Taeyang straightened the papers in his hands, his usual calm expression shifting into sothing more focused. "Okay. Now that this is settled—let’s start practicing."

***

They practiced until nearly 10 PM, making up for the lost ti from yesterday’s incident. The session went smoothly—surprisingly so. Compared to their previous etings, there wasn’t a single argunt or drama. It was almost strange how much difference just one missing person could make.

Haneul didn’t want to sound like an asshole, but he was kind of glad Lee Minjae was disqualified. Yes, there’s a chance the other would probably not act like an insecure jerk if he wasn’t about to enter his rut, but there’s no doubt that he would still feel discontented with Taeyang being their leader. The hormones just made him more honest.

After the practice, Taeyang told them that they would use the schedule they initially decided on. Which ant that after 6 PM, they were free to do anything. Haneul felt a small surge of relief. This ant he could squeeze in so extra dance practice on his own.

"Are you gonna practice with Haru later?" Robin asked, as they walked back to their cabin.

Haneul nodded. "Yeah."

Robin shook his head. "I have no idea where you get the energy. Right now, all I want is to crash on my bed."

Haneul laughed softly. "Trust , I want that too. But with my dance skills? I really need the extra practice."

Robin went quiet for a mont before speaking up. "How about I help you practice, too? We’ll have more free ti starting tomorrow, anyway. Might as well work on my dancing with you."

Haneul looked over at the other and smiled. "If you’re sure about it, hyung, you’re definitely more than welco to join."

After Haneul returned to his cabin room, he took a quick shower and changed into a fresh sweatshirt and pants. Once his hair was dry, he walked out and made his way back to the practice rooms. He and Haru had already decided they would use the practice room at the very end of the corridor. This way, they wouldn’t need to search for each other whenever they had these extra practice sessions.

The room was empty when he arrived, but he didn’t mind. He started with so stretches. About five minutes later, the door opened. He turned, expecting Haru - only to be slightly surprised when Seojun walked in instead.
