FOR the whole day, the practice rooms were filled with constant discussion. Teams watched their assigned song clip on repeat. They argued over steps, tried out different sequences, and spent long stretches of ti figuring out how to transition from one move to the next. Everyone was working hard to build a brand new dance routine for their part from scratch. It was slow, frustrating work, and by evening, each group only had the rough beginnings of an original choreography.

And while all that was happening on The Argo, the fifth episode of Boys Odyssey finally aired on television.

***

The episode opened with a view of The Argo docked at the port. Then it focused on the contestants gathered on the ship’s deck. A subtitle appeared on the screen: [What could our trainees be gathering for?]

Then, the screen suddenly divided into several small squares. Each one showed a shaky, close-up angle, clearly fild from a selfie stick, as the contestants looked into their own caras.

"I can’t believe the announcent! I thought I was seeing things," one contestant said, his face wide with surprise in his selfie fra.

Another square showed a different contestant grinning and waving at his cara. "They’re letting us off the ship!"

Then, a final contestant leaned into his own cara, beaming. "We’re having a day-off here in Busan!"

Then it showed a quick montage. The groups from the vocal mission split up as soon as they left the ship. One team headed straight for the beach. Another group walked toward the nearby shopping street. A different team looked for a famous local food market. Each team went to a different part of Busan to spend their free day.

The first group to get the focus was Lee Haru’s team. The cara followed them as they ran down a wide, sunny sidewalk that led toward the beach. Haru was at the very front, laughing and turning around to walk backward so he could film everyone with his cara.

"Co on, hyungs! The ocean is waiting!" he shouted, his voice full of pure, cheerful energy.

He kept encouraging his quieter teammates, pulling them closer into the cara fra and making exaggerated silly faces until they finally cracked a smiled.

The next group to be focused on was Park Mirae’s team, exploring a traditional market. The scene showed the group deciding where to go in the market. Two mbers wanted spicy tteokbokki from a famous stall with a long line. One shy mber, an Oga, quietly ntioned the sll was making him feel sick and pointed to a stall selling different small keychains.

Park Mirae listened, his face softening with concern. "Of course, your comfort is the most important thing," he said, putting a gentle hand on the Oga’s shoulder. He turned to the others. "Let’s go there first. It’s better for everyone if we stick together and make sure no one feels left out or unwell."

The two who wanted tteokbokki exchanged a quick, disappointed glance but didn’t argue. The Oga looked relieved but also slightly guilty. The cara followed them into the stall.

Han Seojun’s group was next. The scene mostly showed Choi Yujin sticking very close to Han Seojun’s side, talking to him and blocking the others out. The rest of the team hung back a few steps, looking a bit left out of the conversation. On the other end, Baek Eunwoo’s group showed harmony. They looked like a group of friends on a school trip being led by the class president.

The focus then shifted to Jung Taeyang’s group. They had went to Gamcheon Culture Village.

"Hello everyone!" Robin greeted, waving at the cara. "We’re currently at Gamcheon Culture Village."

The group spent their ti walking through the bright, colorful alleys. They stopped often to take pictures and film their reactions. Robin and Joonhyuk did most of the talking for the cara. They pointed out interesting murals and joked around with each other. Seongwoo was quieter, but he still added a shy comnt or an observation now and then.

Taeyang barely spoke to the cara, but he was not ignoring anyone. He just seed more focused on looking at everything, studying the art and the buildings with a quiet interest. Haneul moved between both. He would chat with the cara when sothing caught his eye, but he also sotis wandered off on his own to look at minor details up close. Even with their different ways of exploring, it was clear they were all having a good ti. They laughed and moved together as one group.

The episode quickly showed the rest of the teams enjoying their day off. Each group had its own mood, from relaxed to energetic, as they visited different places around Busan.

Another brief scene showed Han Seojun’s team again, focusing on Choi Yujin sticking close to his side. Then, there was another clip of Park Mirae carefully placing more food on his teammates’ plates while wearing a gentle, thoughtful expression.

Next was a scene showing Jung Taeyang stepping onto a city bus, with Kang Haneul right behind him. Taeyang walked right past the fare box, looking for a seat. Haneul imdiately moved to the box and paid for both of them. A second later, the realization crossed Taeyang’s face. He looked back at the box, then down at his feet, his ears turning a faint pink. The editing added a silly "boing" sound effect at the mont of his realization, with cheerful music playing over it. The program obviously wanted to fra it as sothing funny and codic.

This was followed by a clip of him eating street food. But it’s painfully obvious he’s eating it for the first ti. Kang Haneul was in the fra too, looking at the selection and then glancing over with a slight, worried frown as Taeyang enthusiastically ate too much sundae. And then, it ended with them at Busan Tower. Haneul was the first to notice Taeyang’s pale expression and subtle discomfort, and he quietly asked if he was alright. This ended up with Jung Taeyang going back to the ship early.

A humorous subtitle appeared on the screen after the sequence: [A Young Master’s First Adventure... Didn’t Go So Well].
