Falling for the Omega Idol Chapter 73: CONDESCENDING?

TAEYANG once again felt his expression tighten in response to Robin’s words. Although he now accepted that the other was an Oga, the guy still grated on his nerves. The only difference now was that he no longer felt the urge to pull Robin as far away from Haneul as possible.

But he held back. Even though he wanted to point out that Robin was outside the scope of his ’generosity,’ he couldn’t say it. If it had only been the two of them, he might have spoken his mind. But they weren’t alone, so he had to restrain himself. After all, Robin was clearly close to Haneul, and he didn’t want Haneul to think he was so insensitive jerk.

Though the logical part of his brain questioned his train of thought, wondering why he cared about the opinion of soone he had just t, he couldn’t just ignore what the illogical part of his brain was saying. And it was saying that he should care. It was irrational, and completely out of character for him.

A part of him hated that. But the funny thing was, a bigger part of him didn’t care. He just...

Taeyang glanced at Haneul, who was looking his way, seemingly waiting for his response to Robin’s remark. Seeing that, he couldn’t bring himself to speak his mind. The last thing he wanted was to see that look of disappointnt on Haneul’s face if he said sothing rude to Robin.

Yeah. There’s definitely sothing wrong with his brain.

But despite realizing that fact, he still decided to follow what the illogical part of his brain wanted to do. At least, at this mont, he decided to go along with it.

"If the choreography is too difficult for you to keep up with, then sure, I can help."

Taeyang felt a bit proud of himself after saying that. It was the first ti he’d managed to sound so generous when he truly just wanted to be blunt. It seed that he could fake being polite if he just put his mind to it.

He glanced at Haneul again, curious to see his reaction to his response. But when he looked, he montarily froze. He had expected to see a smile, or at least a look of admiration for his ’generosity.’ Instead, Haneul was staring at him as if he’d said sothing completely absurd.

That expression was gone in a flash and was imdiately replaced by the expected smile. So, maybe he was just imagining things.

The problem was, he did see correctly. Haneul was genuinely surprised to hear Jung Taeyang’s words. Not for any particular reason, but simply because it wasn’t sothing he expected from the Jung Taeyang he knew.

Could it be that the Jung Taeyang in this world was different from the one in his previous world? That’s why he was doing and saying things that’s not like him? Maybe the Jung Taeyang in this world had different life experiences than the one in his previous world. That could explain why the events involving Jung Taeyang here were so different. The most noticeable difference was that Jung Taeyang was actually able to participate in Boys Odyssey.

Haneul shook his head. No, he shouldn’t jump to conclusions, especially when there could be a simpler explanation. Perhaps Jung Taeyang wasn’t as rude as the dia made him out to be. After all, one couldn’t always trust what the dia showed; things could easily be exaggerated or understated.

Convinced he had finally figured it out, Haneul quietly breathed a sigh of relief and smiled at Jung Taeyang’s response to Robin. He was just glad that the possibility of the two bickering had now decreased.

Robin, on the other hand, felt a surge of irritation at Taeyang’s words. While Taeyang might have thought he sounded generous, to Robin, it ca across as condescending. It was as if he was saying, ’Fine, since you’re not capable, I’ll be kind and help you.’ How could he not be irritated by that?

He smiled and said, "No need, I was just joking." Who needs your help? Hmp! Then he turned to Haneul. "Haneul, if you need help with the choreography, I’ll be more than glad to help."

After that, he shot a glance at Taeyang, his eyes carrying a clear challenge, as if to say he would be far more helpful to Haneul than Taeyang ever could.

Of course, Taeyang caught the ssage. Now it was his turn to feel a surge of irritation. He narrowed his eyes, silently responding with a look that said, ’We’ll see about that.’

"Haneul, you better be careful around that guy, Jung Taeyang," Robin warned in a voice that only the two of them could hear.

Both of them were now heading to their assigned rooms. Although they were placed in different rooms, it just so happened that their rooms were adjacent to each other. Jung Taeyang’s room was on another floor, so they parted ways at the elevator after lunch.

"Don’t you think he’s being suspicious?" Robin added.

Haneul glanced at Robin and couldn’t help but laugh. The way Robin whispered, as if he were sharing so top-secret information, was amusing.

"I thought you liked him?" he asked, recalling how impressed Robin had been with Jung Taeyang’s performance during the public audition.

"His talent and his attitude are two different things and not mutually exclusive," Robin replied. "I can appreciate one while disliking the other."

Haneul raised an eyebrow, not quite sure what attitude Robin was referring to. Was it because of how Jung Taeyang acted in the beginning? But that guarded behavior was only because he thought Robin was an Alpha. Since Haneul had helped his cousin, Jung Taeyang likely felt a bit protective of Haneul. After that, hadn’t Jung Taeyang been pretty friendly?

"Was it because he thought you’re an Alpha?" he asked to make sure.

After that, Haneul went on to explain his thoughts to Robin, recounting the incident involving Jung Taeyang’s cousin and why the other might feel protective of him.

Robin raised his brow, not expecting that such an incident happened. But still, that’s besides the point.
