HANEUL simply smiled and said, "It happens. I’m sure things will work themselves out."
It was only for a mont, but he saw how confusion flashed in Park Mirae’s eyes, as if it wasn’t the reaction he was expecting. But it vanished just as quickly, replaced by a practiced smile.
"Yes, that’s true," the other replied smoothly.
Haneul simply smiled, then reached for his suitcase and made his way towards the closet. It had three doors, leading him to assu that each of them had been assigned their own section.
"Excuse , but could you tell which one is free?" Haneul asked, turning to Park Mirae in a polite tone.
"The one in the middle," Park Mirae responded. "Do you want help?"
"No, that’s alright," Haneul said with a gentle smile.
"Have you eaten lunch? We can go together if you want," Park Mirae suggested.
Haneul made an apologetic face. "I’m sorry, I already ate lunch before coming here. But please, don’t let hold you back. We have to use our ti wisely, after all."
Park Mirae nodded. "Okay. Then I’ll go ahead first."
After the other left, Haneul unzipped his suitcase and carefully pulled out only the clothes he’d need for the next three days, placing them neatly on the top shelf. Next, he took out his toiletries and arranged them on a lower shelf. After that, he slid his suitcase into the bottom section of the closet.
He then changed into a pair of training clothes.
There were only one and a half days left for him to fully morize the choreography. But when he factored in the ti needed for eating and sleeping, the available hours shrank even more. It simply wasn’t enough ti.
Despite the tight schedule and the overwhelming pressure, he steeled himself, refusing to let the lack of ti hold him back. He knew he had no other option, but more than that, he had made a promise to himself—a promise never to give up again. The mory of past regrets fueled his determination, and with a deep breath, he decided to push through, no matter how exhausting it would be. He would work until every step and movent was etched into his muscles. Failure simply wasn’t an option.
As Haneul finished changing, a knock ca at the door. He walked over and opened it to find Robin standing there. Like Haneul, Robin had also changed into a pair of training clothes.
"Are you ready?" Robin asked.
"Yeah, let’s go."
Haneul walked out and closed the door.
"Correct if I’m wrong, but we’re eting Jung Taeyang in the lobby first, right?" Robin asked as they walked. "I wasn’t really paying attention to what he was saying during lunch."
Haneul glanced at the other. "Yes, that’s what we discussed."
"Then, let’s go there first."
Haneul raised an eyebrow. "I half expected you to suggest we skip it. You’ve made it pretty clear you’re not a fan of him."
"Hey, my personal opinion of him aside, it’s clear he’s talented. If he can help you with the choreography, then I don’t mind being around him," Robin responded, shrugging his shoulders.
An amused smile crossed Haneul’s lips. It’s like he’s saying ’I don’t like him, but since he can help you, I’ll tolerate him’. "Okay, then let’s go to the lobby first."
"How are your roommates, by the way?" Robin asked after a mont. "Mine are alright. Though I did have to show them my ID to convince them I’m actually an Oga. Other than that, I think they’re fine."
Robin’s tone made it clear that he had already resigned himself to the situation.
Since he had to show his ID, it was likely his roommates were also Ogas. It seed the program team had ensured that all Oga participants were rood together.
Haneul began to wonder what would happen once the number of Oga contestants dwindled and only a few remained. From what he recalled, room assignnts on the ship were based on performance during missions. In his previous world, that wouldn’t have been an issue, but here, with the presence of secondary genders, it seed the production team was ensuring that Alphas and Ogas weren’t placed in the sa room. As the competition went on, this could pose a real challenge if the rules stayed the sa.
Well, in any case, the production team had likely already co up with a solution for that. It wasn’t his place to worry about it.
Reflecting on Robin’s question, Haneul thought about his two roommates. He hadn’t interacted much with Song Jiwoo, so he couldn’t form an opinion. But Park Mirae... well, that was a different story.
"I didn’t talk much with one of them, but the other? He’s... interesting, I guess," Haneul said thoughtfully.
"Interesting, in a bad way or a good way?" Robin asked.
"I can’t really tell since I only had one conversation with him. But right now? Maybe more of a bad way," Haneul honestly said. "Who knows? I could be wrong. After all, I only spent 10 minutes with him at most."
"Now, I’m curious," Robin said. "But hopefully, your roommate doesn’t stir up any drama this early on. I an, no one needs anything like that at this point when we are all cramming to learn the lyrics and choreography of the show’s the song. Like, securing a top 60 spot is definitely more important than generating drama for screen ti."
Haneul couldn’t agree more. Hopefully, Park Mirae was smart enough to realize that, too. To be safe, though, it was probably best to keep his distance from the other. Because, just like Robin said, they didn’t have ti for drama right now. Everyone should just focus on the program’s the song.
They headed to the elevator, where a few other contestants were already inside. Haneul and Robin exchanged polite smiles with them. Noticing that the button for the ground floor had already been pressed, they simply stepped in without bothering to press it again.
After a few more stops on the way down, the elevator finally reached the ground floor. Haneul and Robin stepped out, and right away, they spotted Jung Taeyang.
