Ding!

[Level Up!]

[Level 26 has been reached!]

Six felt the familiar rush of heightened awareness, his mind sharpening, his reflexes tightening. This ti, he funneled his new experience into LEE WEAPONS, pushing it to 79, further refining his ability to carve through enemies with cold steel.

For his perk, he didn’t hesitate.

[Nerves of Steel] – Action Points regenerate 20% faster.

With how often he was pushing himself to the limit in combat, this was a no-brainer. More AP ant more V.A.T.S., more quick movents, more Shave dashes, and, most importantly, more opportunities to absolutely wreck his enemies before they even had a chance to react.

Boone, without missing a beat, didn’t even react. He just tucked the pouch away like it was the most natural thing in the world.

"You don’t need the caps."

He said flatly.

Milo just chuckled.

"Figured it’d be safer in his hands."

Six smirked.

"Oh, so that’s how it is? I bleed, I sweat, I wipe out an entire Legion camp, and you get paid? Guess I’ll just have to start charging for headshots."

Boone looked at him, deadpan.

"You couldn’t afford my rates."

Milo chuckled at their banter, shaking his head.

"Well, however you two split it, you earned it. And trust , word’s gonna spread about what happened here. The Legion won’t forget this, but neither will the NCR."

Six sighed, rubbing his temple.

"Right. Because the guy who can build power armor, reverse-engineered droids, and a Vault full of weapons needs to be monitored for spending habits."

Boone didn’t even look at him.

"You’re fine."

"Yeah, yeah."

Six stretched, shaking off the tension.

"Guess I’ll just let my humble nature carry through another day of unpaid hero work."

Milo smirked.

"I don’t think humble’s the word anyone would use for you, Bud."

Six grinned.

"Well, they better start. Otherwise, I’m gonna start charging interest on all these rescues."

Milo gave a nod before stepping back.

"Either way, good work. The NCR won’t forget this. And neither will the Legion."

Boone’s expression darkened at that, but Six just chuckled, adjusting his gear.

Six rolled his shoulders, cracking his neck.

"Yeah, well, let ’em rember. The Legion’s welco to try sothing. They tend to die when they do."

"Won’t change how it ends for ’em."

Milo gave him a wary nod before looking at Boone.

"And you? You good?"

Boone adjusted his beret, his gaze cold.

"I got what I ca for."

Milo exhaled, not pressing further.

"Alright. Safe travels, you two. And... thanks again."

Six turned on his heel, muttering under his breath.

"Next ti, I’m holding out for hazard pay."

Six smirked as he unsheathed the Liberator near the War Bus, the blade humming with stored energy. The air around it vibrated, and just a light swing made the wind whistle ominously.

Boone crossed his arms, raising a skeptical brow.

"Another one?"

Six grinned.

"Not just another one. This baby could shave a Deathclaw in half before it even knew what hit it."

He then glanced at the recipe notification. C-4, huh? That could be useful. Maybe it was ti to leave a few "gifts" for any Legionnaires stupid enough to co sniffing around Nelson again.

Stretching his arms, he turned to Boone and the rest of the crew.

"Alright, let’s get moving. We’ve got more heads to crack."

The War Bus trudged forward, its reinforced treads crunching over the ice-covered asphalt as the nuclear winter howled around them. Snow blanketed the once-scorching Mojave, turning the landscape into a ghostly white wasteland.

The sky was a permanent gray, a far cry from the burning sun that once lood over the desert.

Despite the cold, the Mojave was still alive in its own way, and trouble never stopped finding them.

"Eyes up."

Boone muttered, adjusting his grip on his rifle.

"Got movent up ahead."

Six peered through the frost-covered windshield, spotting silhouettes darting between the husks of abandoned cars. Raiders? Mutants? Sothing worse? He grinned, already reaching for his weapons.

"Guess it’s ti for a little exercise."

Rebecca mused, stretching her arms before checking her pistol.

Raul sighed.

"I swear, boss, we can’t go five miles without soone trying to kill us."

"Well, they ain’t tryin’ hard enough."

Six replied, cocking back the hamr on his Desert Eagles.

"Let’s show ’em how it’s done."

Of course, the Mojave provided them with obstacles to keep them busy. So raider thought it would be a smart idea to throw himself out from behind an abandoned car and in front of the moving fortress of a vehicle.

Maybe he thought that’d stop it? If so, then he was incredibly stupid, as the War Bus front snowplow tore him apart.

From the car ruins of an overturned gas station, a group of snow-draped figures lurked, their weapons glinting under the pale light of the cloud-covered sun. Raiders—again. Either desperate or stupid, most likely both.

Six let out an irritated sigh.

"They never learn."

A rocket shot from the wreckage, spiraling towards the War Bus. Rebecca, perched by the turret, didn’t even flinch. With a well-tid shot, she detonated the projectile mid-air, sending a fiery explosion scattering embers across the snowy road.

As for the rest of the Raiders? They shot at the War Bus, but they barely scratched the thick armor plating, as they were used to shooting only at defenseless targets. After they hit the War Bus, Six just scowled and glanced at the others.
