Cao Yong stepped forward.
“Have a few words with Teacher Lu,” Director Tang said.
Teacher Lu gave Director Tang a glare, “What are you asking him to do?”
“Teacher, haven’t you always liked Dr. Cao?” Director Tang clearly rembered this and ntioned it to Teacher Lu.
While she liked this student, the problem was that this student had taken advantage of her fondness and tried to overstep his bounds, which irritated her.
Teacher Lu turned her face away, purposely turning her back on Cao Yong.
At this mont, the teacher seed like a little child throwing a tantrum.
Cao Yong smiled at the teacher, “Teacher, do you like the plum candies?”
ntioning the very thing not to be ntioned. Teacher Lu almost exploded with anger at these words, turning her head back and glaring at him with wide eyes, “I know you did that on purpose.”
“I hope Teacher can appreciate our hard work.”
“So hard work that is!” Teacher Lu glared at him intensely.
Everybody saw that instead of easing the tension, Cao Yong seed to be pushing Teacher Lu to the brink of anger, and they began to panic.
The phone rang.
Teacher Lu’s grandson, Zhang Shuping, answered the call.
“Did you accompany your grandmother to the conference? I ca to knock at your door, you had already left?” Yu Xuexian on the other side asked; he wanted to drive the teacher there.
Zhang Shuping glanced at his grandmother’s expression, “We’ll be there in a bit.”
“Where are you now?”
“We ca to the hospital to check the caras first,” Zhang Shuping said, following the instructions given by his grandmother.
“What’s so interesting about caras?” Yu Xuexian was puzzled by the response.
Teacher Lu turned back to the person nagging on the other end of the line, “Why do you care so much about what I do? Do I need to report everything I want to do or where I want to go?”
Yu Xuexian paused for a mont and then asked, “Who upset Teacher?”
“I’m not upset.” Hearing this student’s confused guess, Teacher Lu really started to get angry, she said.
A group of students, each with their own quirks, sotis made her, the teacher, feel like she was on the verge of losing all her hair.
Yu Xuexian had no choice but to hang up, deciding either to go to the hospital to check on her or to go to the conference to wait.
“Teacher, are you here to inspect the surgery?” Cao Yong asked after Teacher Lu cald down a bit.
“No, I’m going to the conference,” Teacher Lu said.
“I’m also going; let drive you there,” Cao Yong offered.
“Why would you go? You’re not from Hepatobiliary Surgery,” Teacher Lu asked him.
“To support my colleagues. Isn’t it the sa as you supporting your students?”
“You really have a way with words, no one talks better than you,” Teacher Lu scolded.
Like everyone else, Cao Yong first had to quietly accept the teacher’s admonitions.
Teacher Lu suddenly turned around and faced today’s Chief Surgeon, He Guangyou, “Is it really you performing the surgery as the Chief Surgeon? What do you think?”
He Guangyou stood stiffly, like a block of wood. Whether he was the Chief Surgeon or not wasn’t for him to decide.
Seeing that the Chief Surgeon remained silent and didn’t dare to answer her question, Teacher Lu’s brows furrowed. Looking around, everyone was silent.
She wondered if the students were really scared of her. She didn’t think she was that strict.
“Xie Wanying, you speak for him about the surgery,” Teacher Lu said.

Instantly, the gazes of seniors and peers alike converged heatedly on her head as if the sun was roasting her.
The pressure was imnse.
What did Teacher Lu want her to say? What did the others not want her to say?
