Director Tang simply shrugged his shoulders in resignation. Looking at Zhang Huayao, he and others moved his foster mother onto the operating table, and he personally covered her with a sheet to keep her warm.
Later, after anesthesia, they would remove her clothes for disinfection. Even though the elderly lady would be asleep, she would still feel the cold on her body.
Footsteps echoed through the corridors of the operating theater, belonging to surgeons from other departnts arriving for work, preparing to operate on other patients. As each passed by this particular operating room, they wanted to peek but dared not, instead slowing down just to brush past the door.
An unspoken agreent of silence made the corridors of the operating theater especially quiet today. The usually joking surgeons, who sotis teased each other here to relieve the tension before surgery, were nowhere to be found. The operating room was so silent that the drop of a hair on the floor might startle everyone.
The less experienced doctors were already on edge, anticipating that senior doctors would be in a bad mood today. It was said that many bosses had postponed their surgeries in case they need to go support a particular operation.
Finally, a doctor with enough courage stood at the door to Teacher Lu’s operating room, his sharp and bright black eyes scanning every person inside.
The others detected the movent and turned their heads to look, recognizing it was Cao Yong.
Cao Yong, as his na suggests, seed like a man who didn’t know what fear was.
Zhang Huayao pinched his chin, as if contemplating his foster mother’s favorite student.
Had Cao Yong co to visit his teacher, who was about to undergo surgery?
After looking at the teacher lying on the operating table for a while, Cao Yong’s gaze moved restlessly until it landed on Xie Wanying, his eyes intensely focused as if he couldn’t tear himself away from her face.
Unaware of his arrival, Xie Wanying was completely absorbed in her preparatory work. With leadership present, she was giving her utmost attention.

“Dr. Cao,” called a colleague from the hospital, striking up a conversation with him from behind.

The chief surgeon entered the operating room to check on the patient’s condition, confirming that surgery could proceed.
A group of doctors stood by Teacher Lu after anesthesia, eyes fiercely glued to the cardio monitor’s data.
The ECG curve was stable, and everyone breathed a sigh of relief.
“Let’s leave,” said Director Tian, tugging at Director Tang.
The patient had entered a state of general anesthesia and the vital signs were normal; it was best not to crowd the operating room. Zhang Shuping was asked to wait in the Anesthesia Departnt’s office for news about his grandmother.
With the leaders gone, Tao Zhijie and Tan Kelin did not feel any relief. They went to the washbasin to scrub their hands. Two young doctors, Xie Wanying and Song Xueling, began to disinfect the patient before the operation.
While the two chief surgeons were scrubbing their hands, Zhang Huayao glanced outside, thinking that the chief surgeons should have coordinated enough by now, having visited his foster mother in the ward together multiple tis, and seemingly gotten along quite well on the surface.
Without any conversation, Tao Zhijie and Tan Kelin quietly scrubbed their hands, quietly put on their surgical gowns, and presented themselves very professionally.
Everything was ready and proceeding in an orderly fashion. To shorten the surgical ti, there were two chief surgeons present, ready to quickly finish the exploratory part and imdiately comnce with the surgery.
