Chapter 1340: 【1340】Notify classmates
Seeing Ren Chongda’s worried face, Yue Wentong’s heart sank like a large brick to the bottom of the sea.
As the class monitor leading these classmates for four years, he has long regarded every classmate as brothers and sisters. Whenever sothing happens to a classmate or their family, both he and the counselor feel as if it has happened to their own family—troubled, worried, and upset, occasionally angry.
“When does the counselor plan to tell him in person?” Yue Wentong asked in a low voice.
“His grandfather seems unable to hold on much longer. His parents called asking what to do, whether to tell their son to co ho imdiately. They know Shihua is in a critical internship period, and going ho would delay his studies. They probably want to ask if the doctors here at the hospital have any solutions. However, his grandfather’s condition cannot be saved. Brain hemorrhage, unable to operate, already unresponsive, likely brain dead.” Ren Chongda said, picking up his cup wanting to drink so water to soothe his throat, but couldn’t swallow it, feeling a tightness in his heart.
“In this case, I think it’s better to inform him of the situation promptly. Even if he can’t make it back, he might need to take leave to attend the elder’s funeral. He needs to plan his study schedule in advance.” Yue Wentong suggested.
The class monitor he chose is calm enough, speaks clearly and logically. Ren Chongda agreed, asking, “Can you first go and tell him personally?”
“The counselor called for this exact reason, so of course I’ll go.” Yue Wentong said, willingly taking on the monitor’s duty.
Ren Chongda patted his shoulder twice: couldn’t be more satisfied.
Learning that Student Pan was in the ergency departnt, Yue Wentong hurried there.
The ergency departnt was organizing patient records, preparing to transfer patients to the inpatient ward.
Three people accompanied the patient when suddenly the class monitor appeared.
“Monitor, what did the counselor ask you to do at the dical school?” Feng Yicong asked, referring to Pan Shihua’s speculation, “Did sothing happen to soone in our class?”
A classmate actually guessed why he ca. Yue Wentong was surprised.
Three classmates noticed that the monitor’s usually stern face seed to carry a hint of sadness, imdiately felt anxious and worried.
“Monitor, it’s not like one of our classmates is sick like Zhao Zhaowei last ti, is it?” Feng Yicong nervously failed to complete his sentence.
“No.” Yue Wentong denied.
The three classmates collectively breathed a sigh of relief, almost scared to death.
Composing himself, Yue Wentong went over and pulled Student Pan’s arm aside, whispering.
What trouble did Student Pan get into? The other two classmates worried, perked their ears to eavesdrop.
“Your grandfather had a sudden brain hemorrhage and is being rescued in the local hospital. This morning, your parents called the counselor. The counselor and I discussed and decided to tell you about this.” Yue Wentong inford Student Pan in a low voice.
Pan Shihua froze for a mont, his delicate face turning pale like a wall, lips trembling: “My grandfather—”
“The counselor heard from your parents that your grandfather had high hopes for you.” Yue Wentong understood that this news might be a big blow to the classmate and tried to asure his words and tone.
“Yes, in my whole family, my grandfather most supports studying dicine to beco a doctor.” Pan Shihua’s voice grew quieter, seemingly lost in mories of his family.
Not yet becoming a doctor, his grandfather is dying—this is truly a heavy blow for a dical student aspiring to be a good doctor.
The two classmates listening felt equally upset.
