“Dr. Xie?” The on-duty nurse was racking her brain, as there was no Dr. Xie on duty in the ergency departnt tonight.
“She transferred her family here to your ergency departnt this afternoon. They should be under observation here tonight while she’s staying in the ergency room with her family.” Cao Yong explained.
Finally, the nurse rembered: “Isn’t this Dr. Shim’s patient? Said to be the family of Dr. Shim’s sister.”
Dr. Shim, Shim Youhuan? Cao Yong paused, asking.
“Yes.” The nurse nodded.
So, she’s seeking Shim Youhuan for her family’s treatnt. Is it an internal dicine issue? Cao Yong pondered and asked again, “Where are they?”
“Over here.” The nurse led him to Xiao Shugang’s bed.
The patient was sleeping, and Cao Yong signaled for the nurse to be quieter, not wanting to awaken the patient. Looking over, he saw a male patient lying in the bed. She hadn’t ntioned who he was to her. Based on his age, it was possible he was her older brother. But he had heard from Ren Chongda that she didn’t have a brother.
The nurse quietly addressed his confusion: “It’s her cousin and cousin’s wife.”
Beside the hospital bed was an accompanying bed with a woman lying on it, not her, but her cousin’s wife, who accompanied her cousin here for treatnt.
Where is she?
“Dr. Xie is sleeping on the other side.” The nurse pointed toward another partition.
Hearing she was sleeping, Cao Yong’s steps beca even lighter as he moved over, drawing open the partition curtain with the utmost care, making almost no noise. Seeing Cao Yong suddenly stop in his tracks as if petrified, the nurse asked, not understanding what was wrong with him: “Dr. Cao, is she the one you’re looking for?” The nurse feared having led the boss to the wrong person.
It’s her, she really was here, easing the worry that had burdened him all day, finally appearing in his sight.
Cao Yong relaxed, instructing the nurse in a calm tone: “Get the on-duty doctor here, I need to see the patient’s dical records.”
The nurse was just about to find the on-duty doctor to ask what was going on with the boss’s visit, nodded, and promptly walked back to knock on the door of the doctor’s on-call room.
After others left, Cao Yong drew the curtain closed to block out the excessively bright light from outside, then quietly approached her sleeping on the accompanying bed.
