Now reading: Chapter 1602: Too Hard to Find from Famous Among Top Surgeons in the 90s, a Romance novel by Kindhearted Mama.

Doctor Xu gave a tap on the student’s head: Admit defeat?

Actually, it doesn’t necessarily make it harder to find. A floating thrombus might be small or attached to the wall, making it difficult to discern. Going to the root might help find a larger one, as a damaged heart will definitely show so changes in its anatomical structure.

With this line of thought as a guide, when the CT room doctor conducts key area scans for the patient, they inevitably need to scan with more detail.

The CT scan is not slow, but reading the images takes ti for the doctors. It wasn’t long before Xiao Shugang was pushed out of the examination room. Xie Wanying ca out to greet her cousin and his wife, asking them to go to the inpatient departnt first, while she stayed behind in the office to read the scans with Teacher Xu.

Due to the detailed scanning, hundreds of images appeared on the computer, and it wasn’t easy for the doctors to scrutinize each one.

Xie Wanying and Doctor Zhao sat beside Teacher Xu, and the three of them read together. To be honest, if you’re not used to this job, at first glance, these seemingly similar hundreds of images can make one seriously doubt their eyesight.

"This is the Crista Supraventricularis, not a thrombus or a tumor," Doctor Xu pointed out in a whitish area of the scan, indicating a small grayish raised region that looked abnormal.

The Crista Supraventricularis is the fusion line between the primordial atrial appendage and the sinus venosus, located between the right atrial appendage and the sinus venosus, extending from the superior vena cava to the inferior vena cava. In the report from the provincial hospital’s CT room, this was used for a borderline interpretation, which Doctor Xu imdiately saw as a part of the report that might be fabricated.

Once the enhanced CT was done, a thrombus in the right atrium seed difficult to locate. Next, further investigation was directed towards the focus of their prior discussion, the ventricle.

Suspicion of a thrombus in the right atrium shifts the focus to the right ventricle. Anatomically, the right ventricle can be divided into three parts: the inflow tract part, which includes the tricuspid valve and its associated structures; the outflow tract part, a tubular structure like the conus arteriosus supporting the pulmonary artery leaflets; and the trabeculae between these two.

If the heart has taken external impact, it may first manifest as damage to the ventricular wall.

The ventricular wall of the right ventricle is inherently thin, only about 3 milliters. Doctors need to be more patient in searching.

If the general outline of the heart structure appears normal, it is necessary to check for issues with functional activity, preferably through ultrasonography. An echocardiogram can check valve activity and the blood flow within the heart. However, with CT, only the static structures of the tricuspid and pulmonary valves can be discerned.

Three pairs of eyes were searching like looking for a needle in a haystack among the hundreds of images.

Experienced doctors, having read nurous scans, can quickly turn their ntal angle along with the rotating images. Younger doctors may struggle to keep up with this pace.

Doctor Zhao occasionally rubbed his eyes, feeling that with his imaging background, his eyes weren’t just becoming strained, his brain was also getting muddled. Because of this, he glanced at Student Xie beside him.

Xie Wanying’s eyes were fixed, following her teacher intently, her expression appearing extrely calm and composed, thoroughly ticulous.

Teacher Xu is fast. At their top-tier specialist hospital, Guo Zhi, the CT room handles a massive workload every day. Faced with complex cases, doctors might spend more ti and energy researching, but if nothing can be found, spending even more ti studying won’t have much effect. They can’t afford to take another year and a half for research. It’s not that the doctors can’t wait, it’s that the patient’s condition can’t wait. However, today’s patient is more challenging, and Doctor Xu couldn’t spare ti for lecturing students, with a slight furrow of anxiety on his brow as he focused on the images.
