"Section Chief Wang has brought soone along. Director Zhang."
The surgery is concluding.
Zhang Huayao calmly turns around, lazily curls his lips upon seeing the two figures entering: "Is this Chief Li?"
"Yes, I knew you were in the middle of surgery with the patient and couldn’t answer the phone, so I called the head nurse of the incident departnt for information. anwhile, I contacted Chief Li from the police station in the district where our hospital is located to handle the dispute." Section Chief Wang says.
"Hello, Director Zhang." Chief Li approaches Zhang Huayao and warmly shakes hands with this boss, showing concern for the patient’s condition, "How is it, was the surgery successful?"
"Successful." Zhang Huayao responds, "Did your police officers find out anything about the situation upon arrival?"
"The assaulter will definitely be detained; they’ve been taken back to the police station for processing by our officers. However, we heard that the assaulter and the victim are relatives." Chief Li ntions this with a tone implying complexity. Police officers dread encountering household disputes like these, as handling them invariably leaves everyone dissatisfied. Doctors probably face similar difficulties.
"What opinion do your officers have regarding the assaulter’s motive?" Zhang Huayao continues to ask for a professional view from the police.
"The assaulter’s mother said she ca to stop the surgery because she heard your doctors would kill her elder son. I told her this is Guo Zhi Hospital, the best in the nation for heart disease treatnt, such a thing couldn’t happen here. She replied she isn’t acting rashly; prior to this, she consulted many dical experts, all of whom said the surgery couldn’t be done, or her son would die on the operating table."
Upon hearing this, a group of dical professionals silently chuckle.
Is it strange? Not really. Colleagues in the sa field often speak like this. If they can’t perform the surgery themselves, they suggest transferring the patient while advising the patient not to hold too much hope. Actually, these words don’t necessarily undermine colleagues; lowering the family’s expectations can be beneficial.
However, today’s issue goes beyond that.
Chief Li, as an experienced grassroots police officer, had long sensed the peculiarity of this matter and wasn’t very convinced by the family’s explanation. No matter what, unless one holds similar sentints internally, it’s implausible to believe whatever hearsay.

This signifies that even after death, her husband holds deep-seated vigilance against her, with the assets left behind actually managed by entrusted living colleagues, preserving everything for Xiao Shugang rather than for her as the wife.

"What do you want with her?" Cao Yong interjects with a cold tone.
"The assaulter’s mother claims she’s related to them, intending to harm their family." Chief Li replies, "I need to verify the situation with her."
