Now reading: Chapter 1945: This Effect from Famous Among Top Surgeons in the 90s, a Romance novel by Kindhearted Mama.

Ren Chongda glanced at Cao Yong’s face beside him.

Cao Yong’s calm expression carried a solemn touch, as if preparing for battle.

As a neurosurgeon, he knew better than anyone else that the incision Chang Jiawei was poised to make might be more challenging than one in Hepatobiliary Surgery. One involves intense ultrasonic vibrations, while the other is a matter of controlling the force of a pure blade.

However, they could try as she suggested. It didn’t matter, because if the position wasn’t correct, they could continue to cut through the bone as usual.

Chang Jiawei understood it just as clearly.

The action began.

The tip of the scalpel moved slightly according to the angle and distance she suggested.

The movent was so subtle that it seed difficult for the onlookers to discern with the naked eye. Did the scalpel move, or did it reach the correct position? Everyone felt it moved, yet at the sa ti, it seed as if it hadn’t.

Doctor Liu thus reaffird his belief that Student Xie’s suggestion was nonsense, arguing that no matter how sound the theoretical basis, if it couldn’t be implented, it was useless; surgery wasn’t about armchair strategizing.

"Can you tell if it moved correctly? Did the scalpel really move two milliters?" Doctor Liu’s eyes widened like saucers, unable to judge the outco and thus unable to assist the Chief Surgeon; he had to surrender and turn to question Student Xie.

Could you really spot a two-milliter shift?

If you could see it, then you’re impressive; your eyes could rival a microscope.

Receiving such skepticism, Xie Wanying earnestly responded with her reasoning: "It’s not about the distance moved; it’s about whether the scalpel tip reached the position."

She focused solely on the precise point and whether the scalpel tip got there.

There was no need to see how much it moved.

Doctor Liu conceded.

"It’s in the correct position." Xie Wanying nodded to Senior Chang.

The senior was amazing; he accomplished what she suggested imdiately.

Chang Jiawei’s forehead was drenched with sweat, a drop flicking off his eyebrow; the mouth behind the surgical mask dared not breathe, entirely concentrated.

What she suggested was not easy to achieve.

Activating the Ultrasonic Scalpel, he was prepared to trust what she said, to let the scalpel tip touch the point on the bone.

Everyone’s ears seed to hear a thud or a crack, and all eyes focused like spotlights on that piece of bone.

Yes—it’s split.

The surrounding group couldn’t help but feel a jolt of shock and astonishnt.

It was miraculous, far beyond expectations.

Everyone initially thought that what Student Xie described would crack one side first, then the other.

Since the thoracic vertebrae encase the spinal cord, the bone had to be broken on both sides to remove it without damaging the spinal cord.

No one anticipated that following her instructions, a gentle touch would indeed split this side, and astonishingly, the opposite side cracked as well.

They were all dumbfounded.

Chang Jiawei’s hand holding the surgical knife was frozen once more.

Like everyone else, his eyes were fixed on the vertebra that suddenly split into two pieces, hardly believing he had just created a miracle.

Why was this the result? Everyone’s minds were racing, imagining she had cast so wondrous magic on the Chief Surgeon’s hands and scalpel.

It wasn’t magic or mysticism. It was scientifically based. The bone’s opposite side had long been weakened by tumor erosion, so once the precise point was found and the force transmitted, the slightest vibration would cause it to split.

"You’re miraculous," Doctor Liu this ti turned to lavish praise on Student Xie.

It wasn’t about being miraculous, but the terrifying potential of a gifted dical student.

Xie Wanying knew that Doctor Song could calculate similarly, as long as the surgical angle of consideration was correct and the calculation precise, it could be managed.
