"Is Xie Wanying’s mother upstairs?" He Guangyou asked the two of them.
"Yes." Wu Lixuan nodded.
"Let’s go up then." Tao Zhijie suggested, turning around and going upstairs first. Seeing him not asking for directions, the others thought he must know which room Cao Yong arranged for Mother Xie to stay in — perhaps the owner of this house was soone he knew as well.
The arrival of this honored guest made Wu Lixuan’s heart race, unsure if it was a good or bad thing.
Ding dong, the doorbell rang.
Cao Yong put down the kettle to go open the door.
Sun Rongfang called out to her son: "Brother is busy, you go open the door."
Happy to help Brother Cao, Xie Youtian ran over with a thump to unlock the door. As soon as he opened it, the little boy was stunned once more.
Why were there suddenly so many handso brothers?
"What’s up with this kid?" Tao Zhijie looked at the little boy standing at the door, staring at him blankly. With a gentle smile, he mused: His appearance shouldn’t be scaring any kids, right?
Following him, He Guangyou and the others began discussing:
"Is he Yingying’s younger brother?"
"He should be. Look at his oversized down jacket, it’s in an adult size."
"Probably borrowed from Cao Yong."
Wearing Brother Cao’s sharp down jacket, little Xie Youtian looked a bit like a mini-adult, though his face still resembled that of a fledgling chick.
"Is your sister not ho?" Tao Zhijie reached out, gently patting the little kid’s head, demonstrating the skilled reassurance a big doctor could offer, first confirming if the little junior sister had co back.
"My sister—" Xie Youtian felt his cheeks grow even redder after being patted by yet another handso brother. He stamred, "She said she’s at work—"
"That’s alright, even if your sister’s not here, we’re here to see your mom." Tao Zhijie reassured him, tugging the little fellow inside so he wouldn’t be alard.
Hearing the commotion at the door, Sun Rongfang temporarily set down her luggage and stepped out of the room. Like her son, she was a bit dumbfounded by the sudden influx of visitors.
She saw her son being held by the hand of a handso guy with a boyish charm that could win hearts worldwide, unable to move. One could imagine that her normally mischievous son’s behavior had finally t its match. Kids generally had little resistance to charming brothers and sisters, akin to mass surrender.
Feeling sowhat awkward, Sun Rongfang wondered how to call her son back, uncertain of who these people were, taking her son’s hand as if they were old friends.
Wu Lixuan squeezed through the crowd to relieve her godmother’s awkward mont, saying, "Godmother, this is Dr. Tao, Yingying’s senior brother at the hospital."
Oh, it’s the teachers and seniors from her daughter’s internship hospital, it made sense they’d be kind to her son. Sun Rongfang imdiately stepped forward, full of gratitude: "Thank you, esteed teachers, for looking after my daughter. You’ve all worked so hard."
Little junior sister’s mom was warm, humble, and courteous, leaving the impression of being easy to get along with. Everyone suddenly understood where Student Xie’s excessive humility ca from. He Guangyou and the others cheerfully responded to Sun Rongfang: "Auntie, Yingying is very smart and excellent in her studies and work, she doesn’t need our care."
Sun Rongfang dared not beco complacent after hearing people praise her daughter. If what they said were true, her daughter wouldn’t fret about her job prospects. However, now that so many of her daughter’s teachers had co over suddenly, she thought of sothing, quickly pulling her goddaughter Wu Lixuan into the room to discuss.
