Chapter 433: Fevered Chapter 433: Fevered After work in the evening, Xie Wanying t up with her elder sister, Lau Jingyun, and they went together to visit He Xiangyu at the Departnt of Cardiothoracic Surgery.
Upon arriving on the eighth floor, they found that He Xiangyu had been transferred from the cardiothoracic ICU to a general ward, and both hurried to bed number twenty-two upon receiving the news.
He Xiangyu, who appeared much better, was half-sitting on her hospital bed. Seeing them approach, she motioned with her lips to her elder and younger sisters, “Later on, take so fruit with you. They were gifts.”
“Who sent them? Weren’t they sent for you?” Lau Jingyun and Xie Wanying asked, “Let Aunt Zhang take them ho instead.”
Aunt Zhang, who had co to accompany her daughter that day, was tidying up her daughter’s hospital stay items. Hearing her daughter’s elder and younger sisters call her ‘Auntie’, she lifted her head and smiled, “You keep her company; I’m going downstairs to buy so things for her.”
“Auntie, what are you buying? Let us run the errand for you,” Xie Wanying offered.
“No need, I’m just going down to eat. Silly child, and to think you’re a top student,” Aunt Zhang playfully chided, patting her arm.
Xie Wanying paused, realizing she had misunderstood.
Seeing her expression, Aunt Zhang couldn’t help but laugh, “When it cos to the profession, I can’t compare to you. You were right yesterday; it made both her father and reflect. The deal is, her dad and I agreed to et downstairs, have dinner together, and then co back to visit her, and while we’re at it, get so stuff.”
Xie Wanying nodded.
“Stay with her. The doctor said she can’t eat anything orally right now; she can only receive so liquid food through a gastric tube. Take the fruit from the table with you. She wasn’t wrong. They weren’t only ant for her. Those people who ca to express their gratitude knew you were all working, so they sent everything here first. There’s so for you, too,” Aunt Zhang explained on behalf of her daughter.
After seeing Aunt Zhang out, Xie Wanying and Lau Jingyun sat at the patient’s bedside.
“The family of the old lady who had CPR sent them, and so did the store manager. He said als are free when we go to his place in the future,” He Xiangyu ntioned, “They also want to give us silk banners.”
“Let’s not worry about silk banners,” Lau Jingyun said, touching her face, feeling sowhat embarrassed. When they had been saving lives, none of them had thought of this.
Xie Wanying carefully observed her second elder sister’s expression, “Do you have a fever?”
“A little,” He Xiangyu replied.
Hearing her second elder sister say this, Xie Wanying grew concerned, contemplating whether to go to the office later to speak with Teacher Fu and Teacher Zhu about the situation. A fever was not a good sign for a postoperative patient.
“Didn’t they just transfer you out of ICU?” Lau Jingyun was relatively more optimistic.
He Xiangyu shared that view. If her condition hadn’t improved, why would she be moved to a general ward?
Not taking it lightly like the other two, Xie Wanying looked towards the door to see if any nurses were passing by and went out to inquire about the condition.
“He Xiangyu in bed 22, right? We’ve inford Doctor Zhou,” the nurse said.
“How high is the fever, sister?”
“She just started to have a bit of a fever this afternoon. When we asured her at three o’clock, it was 37.2 degrees; it didn’t seem too high, so we continued to observe her. It was just about five thirty when it felt like her temperature had gone up, and when we asured again, it was 38 degrees. So we imdiately told Doctor Zhou, as he is her attending physician,” the nurse explained.
Senior Zhou, who always stayed in the hospital to help colleagues on duty at night, was back in the departnt taking care of the second elder sister. Xie Wanying thought that if Senior Zhou was involved, he probably would have inford Teacher Fu, so she didn’t go to the doctors’ office to find out further.
Returning to the ward, she just overheard her second elder sister telling the elder sister, “Senior Zhou is taking care of .”
