Chapter 471: 【471】Probably not a stomach ailnt Chapter 471: 【471】Probably not a stomach ailnt It wasn’t that he worried whether she was participating in bribery with others, as her student advisor, what he feared more was that the student might get implicated. She could choose not to speak up. The problem was whether those who might know what she had seen would do sothing drastic to her to cover their own exposure, like silencing her mouth? What if what she had observed wasn’t soone receiving a red envelope, but another type of dark transaction?

Cao Yong’s expression darkened, and his handso face lost its usual smile.

Zhu Huicang adjusted his glasses and said to him, “You must warn her about this when you go out with her this ti, Cao Yong. As a girl, she is easily deceived, and I think she is quite innocent and kind.”

The weekend arrived.

In the morning, she set off with the senior sister to the departnt store to buy handkerchiefs. Hu Zhenfan ca along. To buy a handkerchief for a man, it was best to have a man’s opinion for reference.

“What color handkerchief do you want to buy?” the senior sister and her boyfriend asked her.

Xie Wanying recalled Senior Cao’s clothing and the color of the original handkerchief, saying, “He likes blue, not the dark blue kind. He also likes stripes or checks.”

“It seems like all you guys like stripes and checks,” Lau Jingyun comnted, looking at her boyfriend who dressed almost the sa.

“Apart from stripes and checks, what other choices do we n have? Unlike you girls who flaunt colorful patterns, we n would be laughed at if we went out dressed like that,” Hu Zhenfan said, habitually touching his stomach.

Observing out of habit as a doctor, Xie Wanying caught Hu Zhenfan’s action and said, “Brother Hu, that looks more like gallbladder inflammation rather than gastritis.”

“Really?” Hu Zhenfan exclaid in shock. “I always thought it was a stomach problem, and I’ve taken a lot of stomach dicine.”

“If you’re afraid of getting a gastroscopy, get an ultrasound first. Go on an empty stomach in the morning, it’s quick,” Xie Wanying said.

Hearing her say that the test wasn’t as scary as a gastroscopy, Hu Zhenfan nodded and decided to have the examination.

Lau Jingyun teased her boyfriend, “You’re a police officer and you’re afraid of getting a gastroscopy?”

“No, it’s that I’ve heard from my colleagues who’ve had gastroscopies that inserting that tube makes you want to throw up; it’s embarrassing to death,” Hu Zhenfan said. It would be utterly embarrassing for him, a police officer, to retch on the spot because of the insertion of a gastric tube, completely losing the dignity inherent to his role.

Girls, especially those who are doctors, do not really understand a man’s pride. In their eyes as doctors, finding the sick part of the body in the hospital is paramount—why fear losing face when life is at stake?

Finally, after so picking, they found a blue checked handkerchief—a slightly deep sky blue with golden lines shining like sunlight streaming down from the profound sky, instantly bringing Senior Cao’s handso smile to Xie Wanying’s mind.

After paying, she had a simple lunch with the senior sister and Officer Hu, and then hurried to the Foreign Languages University for class.

The first German lesson was very important as it was the introduction. Xie Wanying listened carefully, taking notes in order to organize her thoughts later. With an understanding of how to learn German, she could self-study the German textbooks in the future if it was not convenient to attend classes.

Having a teacher makes a difference. She could personally ask the teacher after class about anything she didn’t understand.

The teachers at Capital Foreign Studies University were excellent; they could always offer the clearest and most professional explanations to her questions. Xie Wanying thought she really should thank Zhao Wenzong later. Such classes were probably sought after by outside school students who might fight over a spot until heads were broken.
