Chapter 53: 【53】dical specialties are not divided from the whole2

The first class of the new sester had just ended.

Ren Chongda hurriedly left and returned to his own office.

The surrounding teachers, who had already heard the news from the female teachers, gathered around him with smiles and asked, “How do you feel?”

Ren Chongda, with legs casually draped over each other on his knees, grabbed his collar to catch his breath and asked his colleague with a curious tone, “Who brought up this girl’s file?”

The scores were sufficient, but the school had the discretion to admit or not. Traditionally, it wasn’t the case that if a girl scored higher than a boy, she would be admitted to certain majors by the university. Otherwise, how co for so many years, Xie Wanying had been the only one accepted into surgery?

About this matter, so teachers had heard so rumors and didn’t hesitate to share with Ren Chongda, “It seems it was one of your classmates who brought up her file.”

“Which one?”

“Who else could it be if not Cao Yong?”

Upon hearing the na Cao Yong, Ren Chongda instantly understood what was going on. So it was him. After all, aside from Cao Yong, none of his classmates would likely have the clout to be invited by the school to help select new students.

“I’ll give him a call to ask about it.” With his mind made up, Ren Chongda decided to call his old classmate who was in the hospital.

Unlike him, who stayed at the university after graduation, Cao Yong had been placed directly in the neurosurgery departnt of Guoxie Affiliated Hospital during his internship and was now hailed as the top young surgeon there. The last ti Cao Yong was on a business trip, he perford a trendously difficult surgery in a local hospital to save a patient with a ruptured aortic aneurysm. He was not only comnded within the hospital but also gained nationwide recognition in the surgical community.

Everyone knew that this guy was bound for greatness. Ren Chongda dialed the hospital’s switchboard and asked for neurosurgery as he thought about his colleague’s prospects.

Hospitals are much busier than schools. After morning rounds, the surgeons had to proceed imdiately with the surgeries they had discussed the previous afternoon. Hearing the nurse say it was him calling, Cao Yong quickly answered the phone and asked, “What’s up?”

“Do you know Xie Wanying from my class?”

This abrupt question from his old classmate made Cao Yong pause before asking in return, “Have you beco a counselor?”

It seed they were both sowhat behind on news about each other. Hearing a nurse rush a doctor on the other end, Ren Chongda decisively said, “Let’s have dinner and talk tonight.”

“Sure,” Cao Yong responded and hung up the phone. As he turned away, he reflected on the ntion of that na by his classmate, his eyelids fluttering involuntarily, and he couldn’t help but smirk, seemingly betraying a hint of joy.

Could it be that his old classmate was implying she had arrived?

In the classroom, the counselor had finished the class eting and assigned military training tasks for the beginning of the sester, which would last for ten days. During this ti, the students wouldn’t have any specialized classes. Reluctant to head back to the dormitory just yet, a lively chatter continued among the students in the classroom.

Now that they knew the only girl in class was not a princess but a study whiz, several boys approached and sat around Xie Wanying to talk.

“Truly no one in your family practices dicine?” they continued to question Xie Wanying’s previous answer, finding it astonishing that one could achieve such results through self-study alone. After all, dicine was a field vastly different from other disciplines, with a strong emphasis on practical skills.

Xie Wanying shook her head.

“How about relatives?”

“My maternal cousin.”

“Oh,” the boys realized and then looked troubled again. After all, would a distant relative possibly teach her dicine?
