Chapter 62: Ergency Care for Trauma 2

“Hello, Boss Lady.” Doctor Zhang said, “Do you have the dicine I ntioned last ti?”

“Yes, yes, yes, we have ten boxes of imported Amoxicillin, all reserved for you, Doctor Zhang.”

In those days, there was a significant gap between dostic and imported dicine. The efficacy of many antibiotics fell far short when compared to foreign ones. Thus, knowledgeable people in the hospital, who had the need, would try every ans to buy the imported drugs because even the hospitals couldn’t get them.

It wasn’t certain you could get good dicine even if you had the money.

Ten boxes of Amoxicillin were placed on the counter by the Boss Lady, and it was unclear what Doctor Zhang needed so much for.

“Doctor Zhang, about my friend’s surgery, he said he would like you to administer the anesthesia,” the Boss Lady said in a low voice as she handed over the dicine.

Standing at the counter, Doctor Zhang was counting the boxes of dicine, seemingly ignoring what the Boss Lady had said. Turning his head, he saw what the other two were buying and pushed up his glasses, “Which class are you students from?”

“96 Class,” Xie Wanying and Yue Wentong replied without a second thought. Since this person was clearly a senior in their clinical practice and a teacher, they naturally answered.

“96 Class, aren’t you just new students at the school?” Doctor Zhang realized, and, taken aback, then swept them with a rather contemptuous gaze, “Just entered and think you can be doctors and get on the operating table?”

It was obvious that the Boss Lady wanted to ingratiate herself with Doctor Zhang, and she followed with flattery, “Right, I didn’t know they were first-years, I thought they were interns at your hospital.”

“So what if they can tie surgical knots after studying. Every day I see in the operating room, interns who can actually get on the operating table are very rare,” Doctor Zhang said confidently.

“Really?” asked the Boss Lady.

“For an intern to stand by the Chief Surgeon and hold a retractor is already good. Want to hold a scalpel? Want to tie surgical knots? Wait until you’re a Ph.D.,” Doctor Zhang said, “Even changing a dressing or treating a simple wound, you won’t get the chance on your own until you’re a Ph.D.”

“I see, no matter what, this is Guoxie.” The Boss Lady revealed the truth with one sentence, “The standards are especially high.”

Let’s not talk about third-rate hospitals and dical schools; they could treat patients as guinea pigs and let inexperienced, weak doctors practice. Guoxie would never do that.

What the Boss Lady said was re flattery. Xie Wanying knew that even at Guoxie, if there was a chance, promising students would definitely be allowed to seize the opportunity to practice truly practical skills. Because without training in a real environnt, dical students would never be able to develop courage. On the contrary, Doctor Zhang seed to have issues with surgical dical students. Normally, any clinical teacher would encourage dical students to practice hard, not demoralize newcors like Doctor Zhang. A little strange?

Since this teacher had no regard for them newcors, Xie Wanying imdiately left after paying.

Sharing the sa foresight, Yue Wentong followed quickly.

Watching the two dical students leave without staying to flatter him, Doctor Zhang patted the boxes of dicine, not very pleased, and said, “The young people these days, getting prouder, their sights set too high, but their abilities don’t match.”

“Yes, yes,” the Boss Lady agreed, then asked him quietly, “Doctor Zhang, about that matter I ntioned earlier—”

“What did you say?”

Xie Wanying, who had left, had no idea what happened after. There was only one road back to the school, and she walked one after the other with the class monitor to the small back door behind the hospital building.

The iron gate was pushed open, and a tricycle ca charging headlong, shouting, “Get out of the way, get out of the way!”
