“She’s on the second floor in the cardiology departnt. I’ll go down and et up with you,” Xie Wanying quickly said, wanting to avoid her childhood friend coming upstairs and running into Doctor Yin.

After receiving the ssage to go to the second floor, Wu Lixuan grabbed her bag and took the stairs for a quicker ascent rather than waiting for the elevator.
Upon reaching the second floor, she stood at the entrance to the cardiology ward, waiting for her friend to arrive.
The elevator doors on the other side opened, and a person walked out.
Seeing the face of that person, Wu Lixuan imdiately turned away, gripping her handbag tightly.
Yin Fengchun paused beside her, glancing at her profile. Her eyelashes flickered, like the nervous flapping of a butterfly’s wings, and her hand clutched the bag so tightly that her knuckles turned white.
She rembered her friend just told him that he was a doctor and he should know what to do. Soone outside of neurology had said that the best way to deal with painful mories was not to avoid them but to recall them over and over again. In doing so, each recollection would form new mory chains with the outside world, which could actually lessen the burden of pain.
By avoiding him, she wanted to hold on to that painful mory forever.
He was a doctor, how could he allow her to keep that pain for a lifeti?
“Aren’t you supposed to go in there?”
What did he say? Wu Lixuan looked up, caught off guard as he grabbed her arm with one hand. Unable to shake him off, she was pulled by him into the cardiology departnt.
“What are you doing?” She was so agitated that she was about to curse.
Seeing her sudden agitation brought him pleasure. It served her right for previously ignoring him.
“Aren’t you here to see that girl?”
“You know?” Wu Lixuan was startled.
How could he not know? His colleague Xie Wanying had recently caught Professor Wei’s attention.
“What are you doing here?” Wu Lixuan was wary of him.
“?” He glanced back, smiling at her, “I’m here for work.”
Looking at his smile, which seed as though he was grinding his teeth with restrained anger, Wu Lixuan felt an unsettling chill.
“Hey, isn’t that Yingying’s friend?” called Li Qi’an, erging from the doctors’ office and seeing the two.
“Hello, Doctor Li,” Wu Lixuan said, grasping the lifeline like a drowning person, rushing over to her childhood friend’s classmate.
“What are you doing in the cardiology departnt?” Li Qi’an asked her.
“Yingying ntioned that there’s a girl whose family won’t provide her dical treatnt. I know friends from the Charity Foundation, so I ca over first to understand the situation and see if I could offer so help,” Wu Lixuan explained.
“You are truly a good person,” Li Qi’an said joyfully, “I originally thought you were just a tea seller.”
“I am indeed just a tea seller, but perhaps I know a few more businesspeople than you doctors do,” Wu Lixuan smiled.
Li Qi’an noticed Yin Fengchun approaching from behind her and greeted him, “Doctor Yin.”
“You canceled the eting with urology, right?” Yin Fengchun asked.
“Yes. It’s Lin Hao’s patient,” Li Qi’an turned and called out to his classmate, “Lin Hao—urology’s professor is here.”
Lin Hao, who was at the computer working on dical records, turned around and replied, “I’ll go call Doctor Zhuang.”
He was an intern, working under his teacher.
Doctor Zhuang hurried over, surprised to see Yin Fengchun: “Why are you here?”
“Can’t I be?” Yin Fengchun raised an eyebrow in query.
“No, it’s not that. It’s just we didn’t ask for Professor Wei, so we thought they’d send so random doctor on duty.”
