Chapter 901: 【901】Arrive at County Hospital Chapter 901: 【901】Arrive at County Hospital “Is there a Guoxie expert on the ambulance?”

The back door of the ambulance opened, and Nie Jiamin and Xie Wanying were sitting inside, listening to a few people in white lab coats talking outside.

These people were likely doctors from the local hospital’s ergency room.

Xie Wanying turned her head and saw Teacher Nie’s serene face suddenly fall silent.

Why ntion experts now? Shouldn’t they first inquire about the patient’s condition instead of asking about the doctor’s identity?

It was apparent that Teacher Nie emphasized professionalism and probably didn’t like curiosity about identities in such situations. Xie Wanying thought that the main reason was Teacher Nie, unfamiliar with the conditions of local dical staff in the country. Local staff rarely had the chance to learn from the best teachers abroad, and in the dical profession, one must learn continuously; hence, hearing about a rare expert from the Capital excited everyone.

Teacher Nie clearly showed no intention to respond. Xie Wanying hopped off the ambulance first, acting as an interdiary for Teacher Nie and the local doctors about the child’s condition: “The patient is under two years old, a year and ten months, suspected splenic rupture, needs an abdominal puncture and ultrasound.”

With her words, the doctors’ focus shifted back to the child: “Won’t you do a CT scan?”

“CT scan results take too long, there’s no ti.” According to Nie Jiamin’s cautious nature, she preferred to wait for official reports. Therefore, she decided en route to first do an ultrasound and abdominal puncture, which was similar.

The local hospital doctors, understanding her implication, looked at each other and said to her, “Our surgery departnt cannot perform surgeries on infants and toddlers. This child is too young, and our hospital has never perford surgery on a child this small.”

“Let’s get the child into the ergency room first,” Xie Wanying said. “May I ask who is the on-call surgeon tonight?”

“My surna is Zhou, I’m from the general surgery of the county hospital, called down by the ergency departnt,” Doctor Zhou introduced himself.

In the ergency room of the county hospital, there is usually only one doctor on the night shift, and others are called down from the inpatient departnt when needed.

Xie Wanying eyed Doctor Zhou, guessing his age to be similar to that of Teacher Xiao Sun. It was normal, as frontline duty staff in most hospitals are younger to gain clinical experience.

The two doctors behind Doctor Zhou were relatively older and seed more like local dical staff coming to the county hospital for further training and possibly on-call internal dicine doctors.

“Co, help push the stretcher,” Doctor Zhou directed the staff.

The child was urgently wheeled from the ambulance into the ergency room resuscitation room.

Xie Wanying and the others followed into the ergency room, noting its small size, with only one resuscitation bed, five observation beds, and a single ECG monitor, with one room for internal dicine and one for surgery.

Outside, a hundred square ter hall was filled with chairs, all occupied by patients receiving IV drips. Despite the small size of the county hospital, it was the most advanced within many miles, and it was the first place locals sought dical care before going elsewhere.

Five observation beds were occupied by critically ill patients whose families refused transfer, waiting for a miracle here, as explained by Doctor Zhou.

The resuscitation bed was empty, but next to it, a stretcher covered with a white cloth held a body, allegedly waiting for relatives to co to retrieve it.

A nurse, seeing a new patient, moved a screen over to provide so privacy and block the crowd’s curious eyes.

Though the public was kept out, the enthusiasm of local hospital staff to learn from the experts from the Capital could not be contained.

The child was placed on the resuscitation bed, and Xie Wanying instructed the nurse about the central venous catheter on the child’s body, only to feel the volu of conversation behind her growing louder. She turned around to see a crowd gathering.
